The Temperature of Me and You is absolutely adorable, heartwarming, and the perfect YA read! I loved it! I can't wait for my teen library patrons to read it!

What a wonderful YA queer romance! I can’t get enough of the main characters and their journey! Characters are written extremely well, where I feel such a connection to them.

I got this book of of Netgalley and these opinions are my own. I struggled with getting into this book, I’m not really sure why though. It just felt a little slow. Dylan and Jordan are both interesting characters and Dylan had an amazing support system. And the powers thing is cool. It was a good book, I just think that it moved a little slow for me. It’s possible that reading for a second time might be different, I’ve had that before. I’m still going to get this when it comes out to see!

Dylan is 16, works at Dairy Queen and wants his first boyfriend. One day mysterious Jordan comes in after closing and immediately sets Dylan’s heart afire (or possibly more). The odd thing is, Dylan is unusually warm….as in 110 degrees, and soon Dylan starts running a fever himself. A person with a body temperature of 110 degrees should not be alive, right? What is wrong with Jordan, and why does it seem to be affecting Dylan? Who are the mysterious people who seem to be after Jordan? Can Dylan solve these mysteries on top of having feelings for Jordan that just keep getting stronger?

Brian Zepka has written the perfect modern teenage sci-fi queer romance. It is such a cute and intriguing story, and I was constantly wondering where this story was headed. Zepka has created a main character that is so believable as a sixteen-year-old that I was often wondering if it had been written by someone younger. I was constantly rooting for Dylan and Jordan throughout the book and even was not sure what would end up happening at the end.

I am not the biggest sci-fi person, but I really loved the sci-fi element. I think it is a great book for all different types of readers. I am an educator and I think that many of my students would love this book. On top of having a same sex romance as the heart of the book, there are other queer characters and there are several other characters who have such an important role in Dylan’s identity and driving the story forward.

The Temperature of Me and You is truly a sweet and action-packed story of love and friendship that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. I look forward to more work by Brian Zepka in the future.

Thank you to Net Galley, Disney-Hyperion and Brian Zepka for the advance e-book copy for review.

Dylan has dreamed of his perfect person and crafted scenarios of what it would be like to fall in love, but he doesn’t know what to do when he’s feeling all these feelings for a new boy in town. Jordan is hiding a big secret but desperately craves a friend- Dylan. This story has all the good things- young love, LGBT main characters, teen angst, and a little dollop of Sci-Fi! Perfect for teen readers and adults alike!
