I have enjoyed the books in the Cozy Capers Book Group series. From the very beginning you are pulled into the mystery and are in for a wonderful reading experience. The characters are well developed and the relationships are interesting. The family dynamics are an important theme and it is nice to see the way Mac and her family care for each other. There are twists and turns that will keep you guessing and having the book club as part of the investigation is interesting. I love having lots of suspects as you work with the book club to help solve the murder mystery. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

I have to say that I am starving for delicious food by the time I finish one of these books. I want to head to Cape Cod and find some delicious lobster to dine on.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Cozies for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

There are twists, turns, suspense, mystery, and a wonderful cast of supporting characters that reside and visit the quaint town of Westham, Massachusetts. The seaside town is so cute, homey, and welcoming. It is a great contrast to the sinister events that seem to take place within. I am enjoying the backstories and relationships of the characters themselves. Mac is a feisty, realistic, and likable gal, and I am always rooting for her with every quest she takes on. I enjoyed this mystery as much as the previous books and look forward to reading the next book to see what else will be in store for Mac..

Tulia Peters' popular Lobstah Shack becomes a crime scene when Annette DiCicero's body is found in the eatery's walk-in freezer. The murder weapon is a distinct lobster pick lodged in the victim's neck. And since Tulla and Annette had argued in public shortly before her death, Tulla becomes the prime suspect. Mac Almeida and the Cozy Capers Book Group wants to help Tulla and starts looking into Annette’s personal life. Annette winning the coveted Miss New Bedford title seems to be a sore point with several potential suspects. As Mac continues to snoop, the killer is determined to thwart her attempts to clear Tulla.

This was another fun entry in the Cape Cod mystery series.

When a woman (Annette) is found murdered in the walk-in freezer at the restaurant beside Mac's shop, it seems too obvious that the restaurant owner, Tulia, is the killer. With some digging Mac and the Cozy Capers Book Club discover that Annette had more than her share of enemies. I always feel like I never quite connect with the characters in this series. The whole phone thing was a bit annoying for me. I do enjoy the setting and the writing style, and I hope to get more attached to the characters as the series progresses.

Mackenzie "Mac" Almeida owns a bike shop in Westham, Massachusetts, and spends her time between the shop, her pet bird, Belle, and her friends and their book club -- and, of course, her boyfriend Tim. But one morning she receives a frantic call from one of her book club friends, Tulia, and when she goes to Tulia's restaurant, The Lobstah Shack, she finds a dead woman in the walk-in freezer. The woman is Annette DiCicero, whose daughter Kendall is a friend of Mac's niece Cokey.

But since she was found with Tulia's lobster pick in her neck, and Tulia and the woman had a heated argument recently, she's well on her way to being at the top of the list. Mac is determined to not keep her there, and along with her book club friends, they intend to quietly sleuth out a killer. But Mac has never been known for her stealth, so the killer might also be keeping an eye on her...

This is the third book in the series and I have read them all. This can also be read just fine as a stand-alone, but I think you would do better to read the entire series so that you can get more background on all the characters. While I will say that this is a good book, I do think that the previous one is my favorite of the three. This one has a lot of Mac's "thoughts" that I think would have been better spent on showing us what is exactly going on with the characters. Also, the remark about the pandemic seemed a bit premature, and the story would have been better sticking to the mystery itself and not other things.

There are plenty of suspects around the area, including Annette's husband, whom no one seems to know much about. But the man seems to truly care about his daughter and that doesn't let out others who might be guilty, including Doris, who owns a pet store and has been seen complaining regularly about Tulia's business. So who could the guilty party be?

With the group gleaning clues and sharing with each other, it's up to Mac to share those details with the police, who urge her to stay out of it. But one thing's for sure -- someone knows what she's up to and is determined to make sure she does stay out of it...permanently.

When the ending comes and the killer is revealed, I had pretty much figured out who it was. But since I live on mysteries, that might be the reason why. Still, it is pretty good and I would recommend this book to others.

I thank NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book but this in no way influenced my review.

Loved this book.
A socially conscious community works to help the homeless. This is peripheral to the mystery at hand.

A dead woman is found inside the Lobstah Shack's freezer. The race is on to discover who and just what the means of death was.

Really good

This series always make me wants to visit New England and enjoy lobster or Lobstah as it says in the title, The Cozy Mystery Book Club is on the case again, When a body is found in the freezer, the club must clear their friend and neighbor. The story is wonderful and moved at a great pace. The characters have so much going on that it was almost to much but it doesn't interfere with the story. This is a great books in a great series

When I saw a cozy mystery called Murder at the Lobstah Shack, I knew I had to read this! A cozy that takes place in one of my favorite places on earth: Cape Cod!

This is book 3 in the series, and I had no problem jumping into this one. Mac owns a bicycle repair shop and she’s at work when she gets a phone call from Tulia, who owns the Lobstah Shack. She has found a body in her walk in freezer! Mac and her friends try to stay out of it, but at the same time can’t help by try to figure out what happened.

They find out the body is Annette DiCicero and she recently had a big fight with Tulia. To help clear her name, Mac looks into Annette’s history and decided to interview some people including her husband and his business partner. Annette was also a former Miss New Bedford and there’s a whole beauty pageant plot line.

I love all the supporting characters in the book. I would love to be a member of the Cozy Capers mystery book club. Just like the real life place, the small towns of the cape are always fun and interesting!

Thank you so much to @kensingtonbooks and @maddiedayauthor for my gifted ebook. I’m excited to read the other books in this series!

⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was a really fun cozy mystery. It was also my introduction to this series, and you will definitely have no issues reading it as a standalone. It was well written and well paced. I loved the setting (Cape Cod). The plot was engaging and full of red herrings that kept me guessing. There is a plethora of likable characters (cute kids, a sassy bird), and a bunch of recipes for all the delicious sounding foods mentioned throughout the story. What more can a reader ask for?

Princess Fuzzypants here: Mac gets a frantic call early in the morning from her friend Tulia. Tulia has discovered a corpse in the cold storage at the Lobstah Shack. Worse yet, the body has one of her lobster picks firmly embedded in her neck. The two women are afraid Tulia will be an easy suspect since she was seen arguing with the deceased the previous day.

The local police do not arrest Tulia but unless Mac and her Cozy group can find information leading to the real killer, she will remain a suspect. The story is a good one with interesting characters and some terrific interactions. I love the way the author is able to address some thorny social issues in a way that is not preachy but lets the reader look at things from a different perspective. It is done very well.

Something else I appreciate is the recognition of the too stupid to live or Darwin Award factor that often ruins a good cozy for me. In fact, there are several times when Mac acknowledges it and does not do the thing that was so blatantly dumb. She and her group try, as best they can, to stay out of danger and with the group dynamic, each individual using their unique skill set, they make an awesome force. What I also enjoy is the fact that the local cops, particularly Detective Lincoln, recognize the resource they supply. While discouraging them from doing anything dangerous, he is willing to consult with them and listen to what they have uncovered. It makes for a much more intelligent story than one where the heroine flutters around, completing oblivious to what is around her or the cops resent the tips.

I give this full props. Five purrs and two paws up.

It was good to catch up with the players on this series. Good also that Mac and Tim will get on with their lives.

Mac is drawn into another mystery when her friend Tulia, the owner of The Lobstah Shack, calls early one morning with an emergency. When Mac goes to help her she finds out that Tulia has discovered a dead body in her walk-in cooler. Once they realize that Tulia is a suspect, the Cozy Capers Book Group members jump in to help clear her name. With each new piece of information they find leads to more questions in this case. I like the characters in this series and how there is a balance between the mystery and the subplots going on in the story. It moves along at a brisk pace and keeps your interest throughout, with a few twists along the way. I'm looking forward to my next visit with Mac and the rest of the Cozy Capers members.

I received a complimentary copy of this ebook from the publisher through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Mac is back along with her book club pals. This time she needs to help her friend figure out why there is a body in her freezer.
It moves along at a fast pace. There are quite a few things happening at the same time in this book. I thought this book was a really cute and fun read. The characters are just delightful. The clues are sprinkled throughout the plot. It was a sweet light hearted cozy mystery. I definitely recommend this book.

The plot of the book was such a great page turner. I truly cannot wait to read another wonderful book from this author. This was a truly great book.

I like Mac, but even in the third book of the “A Cozy Capers Book Group Mystery” series, Murder At The Lobstah Shack she takes some getting used to in order to really like. I enjoy that Mac runs her bicycle sales and repair shop and works hand-in-hand with her brother. She is also very involved with the rest of her family and makes them a part of her day-to-day life. The real problem with Mac is that she can’t keep her nose out of murder investigations.

When her business neighbor, friend, and owner of The Lobstah Shack, Tulia, calls on her to help when she finds a body in her walk-in freezer, no one can blame Mac for running straight into the middle of another mystery. It doesn’t take long for her to find suspects or motives, but finding the evidence and the truth seem to evade her until the very end. She spends more time running around than running her bicycle shop, and even when her grandmother lands in the hospital, Mac spends too much time following the trail of crumbs that lead her straight into the sights of a killer.

The twists and turns run throughout the story, and Mac has to follow every one of them to their conclusion. Eventually, the killer is unveiled, but not without a few heart-stopping moments that will leave readers wondering if Mac might not be better off going back to her bicycle shop and letting the police do their job. Characters in this series are fun and enjoyable to spend time with, especially Mac's parrot, Bella. Even when they aren’t as robust as they have been in previous installments. The location couldn’t be better, and the food and recipes will have your mouth watering. Overall Murder At The Lobstah Shack is an enjoyable read but might not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Murder at the Lobstah Shack is the 3rd book in the Cozy Capers Book Group Mysteries written by Maddie Day. I have read the first two books in this series and this one is another great installment to the series. Maddie Day wastes not time in this one, Mac's friend, Tulia, owner of the lobster restaurant finding a body on the first page. She calls Mac and begs for her help. When Mac arrives and they recognize the victim, it becomes apparent that Tulia could be the murderer.

I really enjoy this series set in a small town on the coast of Massachusetts. There is even a book club, Cozy Capers Book Club, that Mac, her brother and friends are part of, including a retired Police Chief. They read cozy mysteries and use them to solve crimes. There is more than one suspect in this one and definitely a few red herrings. Some of the plotlines deal with homeless people, a controversy surrounding beauty pageants and backstabbing. I enjoy visiting Westham, Mass. and seeing what Mac, her friends and relatives are up to. I love her niece, and she plays a bigger role in this story being friends with the murder victim's daughter. This was an interesting and intricate mystery and can't wait to see what Maddie Day comes up with next.

Mac is happy running her bike shop and participating in her Cozy Capers Book Club. When her friend who owns the lobster shack needs help, though. Mac gets everyone in her book club working! One of the locals was found murdered in the lobster shack freezer!

I love Maddie Day's books! I'm loving the series that I've been reading from her so much! I love Mac and her friends in this one. I have such fun with her! I was kept guessing through the whole book and I loved that! I can't wait to read the next one!
