Wattpad fanfiction on steroids.
The book was fun and entertaining, however, there were many aspects I hated, like:
1) the book needed heavy editing. It was filled with typos, plot holes and inconsistencies. It honestly made it hard to focus on the actual writing.
2) the writing style wasn't consistent, the vocabulary used in some parts didn't match with the language used in most of the book. At times, Daniel would use fancy, articulate words, and other times, he would use slang and mostly vulgar language.
3) the language. The over usage of slang kept getting on my nerves, on some parts, it was hard to believe Daniel was actually in his thirties. Also, spelling words every other page was tiring to read.
4) the plot. I understand their physical attraction was the main focus. However, I wanted more depth and intimate details. The personal and heartfelt moments are the one that would stay in the reader's mind.
.
The ending felt rushed, they got their happy ending in principle, but there was no build up to the HEA.

Daniel is in a rock band and has success with women but only for one night. He knows that Jessica is different from other women. Their relationship is forbidden but the chemistry is too strong to deny for either of them. Jessica is a people pleaser and tries to do what her family wants her to do. The couple meet in secret but sooner or later secrets come out. A good story.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley.

What happens in Vegas.I don’t take anything too seriously. Not the career that’s brought me fame and fortune, or the never ending string of women that fill my bed, and definitely not myself. But life has a way of turning on a dime. The party is over. When I started reading I couldn't put it down.M. Jay Granberry is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this books. Can't wait for the next book.

Tw: shooting, anxiety

Jessica Johnson is a 24 year old independent and responsible woman. She meets Daniel Xu, a 9 year older rockstar and a ladies man. She never had a one-night stand. Her lack of experience makes her insecure but for the first time in her life she doesn't think about disappointing her controlling mother. No strings. No feelings.

I had a hard time getting into the story. I shouldn't have requested for this book without knowing the previous ones in the series. A lot of time was spent on side characters: family dynamic, her brother's relationship with her mother and fiancée, shooting scene, etc.

I liked Daniel's family backstory. After years on the road, he finally wants to redeem himself and take care of his family, especially his dying grandmother.

I enjoyed Jessica's and Daniel's chemistry and banter but their relationship was based only on sex. They even admit that they don't know much about themselves. I would have rated this book higher but then the last 40 pages happened with 5 different storylines, including the unfinished one.

This is a great continuation of the Sin City Tales series. An age gap, rock star romance and so much more, the writing, plot and dialogue is superb. Daniel and Jessica's story is breathtaking, powerful and highly passionate. This book is rich in content and drama! I loved it!!! #ExquisitelyYoursASinCityTale #NetGalley

Exquisitely Yours: A Sin City Tale by M. Jay Granberry is rockstar, forbidden romance.
It follows Jessica; a rich straight laced girl, forever chasing perfection and Daniel; an anti-relationship, free spirited Drummer of a band.
Daniel and Jessica were polar opposites but it worked well for them, Jessica needed someone to open her up and Daniel needed someone serious to make him a little more adult. I liked how Daniel was so obsessed with Jessica from the start, his inner monologues about her were very sweet and funny. The most i loved about him was that he was very dramatic, fashionable and sensitive.
This book was very diverse, and when i say diverse i mean DIVERSE. It had black, asian and south Asian culture and I'm so glad to see this. Not many authors include Hindu or other south asian cultures in their books.
Honestly, it took me a few chapters to get into the book but I'm very glad i stuck to this book. It was very steamy and sweet.
Also, it has a few plot twists i didn't see coming but I wished the author told us more about that, i guess we'll see more in the next book?
I didn't quite like the ending as it was too abrupt, i prefer books which have epilogues so i hope the author gives us an additional scene in the future!
In conclusion, this was a very fun read and i definitely see myself buying more books from this author!!

I have been waiting for this one for so long. It's been a while, so it took me a moment to remember everything that has happened in the previous books. The wait is so worth it though. Daniel and Jessica's story has everything, from the hot chemistry, drama, and all the emotions. The slow burn was so deliciously excruciating. Their story is definitely well written and a real page-turner.

The story of Daniel Xu and Jessica Johnson, a rockstar and a member of family royalty in Las Vagas. The character themselves were enjoyable to get to know in a close knit diverse cast. But the story it’s self was pretty mainstream, though I did like the fact that both of the love interests were on more balanced ground when it came to their financial backgrounds (Not the typical rich character / struggling character).

It has been a while since I've read the previous books in this series but this book reminded me of why I fell in love with this series to begin with. It took me a while to get into this story but once I did, I wasn't ready for it to end. I enjoyed the chemistry and mystery between Jessica and Daniel. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more books from this author in the future.

I really enjoyed this sexy, emotional and torturously slow-burn story, with its seriously instant attraction. The band are so funny and each has such individual characters that it was easy for me to love them.

The series continues with Daniel’s story; there are so many complications for Daniel and Jessica, so many! There’s age (nine years is no age gap as far as I’m concerned), race and the fact of who her brother is and how everyone knows he’d react; not to mention Jessica’s reluctance for their strong connection to go anywhere. I loved ninety-nine per cent of the characters; there are a couple that needs a really good look at themselves! Daniel certainly had his work cut out for him. If you add family drama.. with a capital D, you’ve got a hell of a story that just keeps giving the hits.

I enjoyed this series a lot. Getting to know the characters has been a joy.

It’s been so long…

I’d read the first books in this series a few years ago and was thrilled to hear Daniel’s story was being told. Bad boy rocker meets ‘forbidden’ love – yeah, I’m always on board with that….

And how was it forbidden? Daniel was the boy your mother warned you about with sin written all over him. And that was true, on the surface at least. In reality, there was more to him than met the eye and that was evident when Jessica caught his… He was older by a decade (no problem I thought), bad boy (oh heck yes!), funny (aka probably shallow but then)…

The real problem was family already dating the lead singer. And Jessica coming from money (her mom was all about that) meant some interesting (and quite frankly) wild twists along the way…

The chemistry between the main characters, the nostalgia (for me) revisiting familiar secondary characters and the crazy path wobbles were highlights of this story. While the plot was delivered a bit unevenly, and there are some unanswered questions, I was all in up to (and happily including) that happily ever after ending…

This is the 3rd book in this series and is Daniel and Jessica’s story. Daniel is the bad boy rockstar in the band, and Jessica is the younger sister of the brother who is seeing the lead singer, so she is off limits. Jessica has a wealthy mother who has high expectations about how she should act, and even more so who she is to marry. There is an instant chemistry between Daniel and Jessica, and the sparks fly between them, but their relationship is slow to develop, until everything comes crashing down around their ears. Daniel has a fight on his hands to convince Jessica to give them another chance. This is a well written story which is emotionally charged, and with passion, family, friendships, and love, which leads to an entertaining and riveting page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

While this is part 3 of a series, I read it as a stand-alone and felt it read well. Obviously, I would have had more backstory on a few of the characters if I had read the first 2 in the series, but I didn't feel like I lost meaning without them. In all honesty, I'm not sure how to review this book. I enjoyed Granberry's characters, their development in the story and throughout the plot, and her world-building is really vivid. However, I found the timeline to be a little too fluid for me. Some parts were supposed to be happening in the present, but then the same event is described a year later, and then again three years later...but it's not super clear when you start reading that it's in a different time frame. While I thought her characters were unique and well developed, I couldn't connect with any of the characters and found it hard to truly fall into the story and read without interruption. So I guess for me the story was ok but Granberry's ideas and characters were pretty cool.

I have been aware of the books by M. Jay Granberry but had not read any until I had the opportunity to read Daniel and Jessica’s story in Exquisitely Yours. This book is the third one in the Sin City Tales. The stories follow the loves and exploits of the members of a band fronted by Sinclair James. Daniel Xu is the drummer in the band and Jessica is the sister of Sinclair’s fiancé. For playboy Daniel, his first sighting of Jessica Johnson is a revelation; he is cognizant that pursuing his feelings might be complicated but he can’t seem to help himself. Jessica is just as cautious but for different reasons…Daniel is almost a decade older than she is and has what figuratively adds up two lifetimes of more experience sexually. However, even with his hedonistic lifestyle Daniel comes off as less mature and less secure in himself than Jessica. Maturity levels aside, Jessica spends a lot of the book in retreat…running from Daniel and running from her feelings. They both are exquisite messes….I really enjoyed watching them twist and turn and then come back to the same spot. I would like to also acknowledge the truly diverse cast of characters Ms. Granberry has created. We also get to see the complexities of family dynamics; Daniel’s mother and Jessica’s mother should band together and form a support group for nasty mothers! This was a terrific story from start to finish. I relished the growth they both displayed by the end of the story.

I am voluntarily leaving a review of my honest opinion.

I just couldn’t get into this book, and I tried so hard. I liked the description and where it was going at first, but it just didn’t draw me in. It took awhile to finish this. There were parts in this book that I liked, but I wish it could've been a majority of the book. Maybe I’ll come back to this book later on to try it out again. I wish I could’ve liked it because I’m such a sucker for romance books. I feel like I could’ve gotten into this book more if I read the first two books before this one. The side characters had so much going on in their lives, and I just felt lost a lot of the time. I don’t recommend this as a stand alone. Instead, if you’re interested in this book, read the other books in the series first!!

I was so pleased to receive this ARC, as the description sounded right up my alley, but unfortunately, this one wasn’t for me. I had a hard time getting into the story at first - I felt compelled by Daniel’s relationship to his family and his caretaking responsibilities, but I was less compelled by Jessie’s family.

Their relationship in general just wasn’t really for me, and I wasn’t compelled by their development as individual characters or as a couple. It felt like the peripheral characters were almost too much of a focus when I tend to look for romances that HEAVILY focus on the romantic relationship only.

I would probably recommend this book to someone who’s looking for a romance with strong side characters, and for someone who’s looking to start a series where you’ll get info on all of the side characters.

I didn't like the writting style, I had a hard time getting into the story. The characters were fine, I liked the Vegas and band storyline.
