I enjoyed this story with all the characters within. The main character was Violet Waverly.

Violet Waverly is getting married soon. She is so happy too. Violet run a shop that a book store it's called Charming Book shop. When a woman comes to her shop to sell a old book to her. She is surprised because the old book is a first addition. But the woman doesn't have the right things to sell this book. It a mystery where she got this copy from. The woman is not happy with her and leaves. But on her wedding day the same woman that wanted to sell the book is found dead. She decides to try and find out what happened.

This was a fun story. It had action, adventure and suspense throughout. It had a few giggles within. It was fun trying to solve the mystery within. The little cat and crow were so funny.

I received a complimentary copy via Netgalley. This is my honest unbiased opinions.

Crimes and Covers is the 5th book in the Magical Bookshop Mystery series. Charming Books is in Cascade Springs, New York and is the central setting of the series. It has a magical tree growing in the story and proprietor Violet Waverly, waters it faithfully every two days with water from the Mystical Springs. In this book, she is getting married to police chief David Rainwater. Just after the wedding and before the reception, they find a body in the river. It is a woman that tried to sell Violet a first edition copy of Henry David Thoreau's Walden a few days earlier. What happened to the woman and where is the book?

This is the last book in this series and I am sad to see it end. I loved the setting of a small town near Niagara Falls. The characters are wonderful, feeling like a family that I need to say goodbye to. Florrie and Rainwater make a great couple with her amateur sleuthing and his chief job. There is a lot going on in this story, with the wedding, Violet's aunt working on the heritage project and the running of the store. It turns out that the drowning was sort of an accident, but other goings on such as another death, an attempted murder and a stolen book all add to the mysteries in this book. I can't review this one without mentioning Faulkner the crow and Emerson the tuxedo cat, they are wonderful characters and play a huge role in the showdown. With books flying across the shop, Walden opening up to specific pages to give Violet clues and a surprise during the showdown, this series ends with a bang. If you enjoy a bit of magic, a fun cozy mystery with great characters and Amanda Flower's writing, I recommend you pick this book or series up. I am positive you will enjoy it.

I was looking forward to this book and Violets wedding. The book focused a lot on the wonderful wedding which I enjoyed. Of course the wedding couldn't happen without the body of the lady who wanted to sell Violet a first edition of the book Walden found near the wedding, Violet has to find a murderer and a book. This book is magical and fun and I highly recommend it and the series.

This is the last in the series for the Magical book store and I have to say it was a let down as a closure to the series. Her and her fiance marry and then live apart for a few weeks still? I am sorry, I just don't believe it or see it. I know that the readership of this series is probably more conservative but I was shocked by that. Also the lack of spending time/cuddling. I expected by fire cuddles while discussing days at least and it seems like they were both after thoughts to each other. I guess I also thought they would work together more in this last mystery as they were now married and she solves mysteries. Also, there was just a lack of the reoccurring characters in this series in general, I wish we had gotten more in the ending of what would happen to all the characters we have come to care about.

A great read as usual! This is my favourite series from Amanda Flower.

The 5th installment of the Magical Bookshop series is the culmination of everything that happened in the previous books. It's Christmas and everyone is getting ready for the wedding of Violet and Rainwater. What could go wrong? Finding a dead body at the reception.

The mystery is nicely thought out and there are several suspects throughout the story. Even if I figured pretty early who had done it, it was still nice to find out the why.

Violet is a great character, I love her strong character and her stubbornness, and how her fresh perspective of things complements Rainwater's. They make a great couple.

A nice cosy mystery to read during Christmas!

I love getting lost in an Amanda Flowers book. I've only been to New York once but I love her description of the area because it makes me feel like I'm right there with her.. Unfortunately this is the last book in the series but can't wait to fid out what will be coming next from this great author.

The Magical Bookshop Mystery series is my favorite of Amanda Flower's cozy mystery series and this new book did not disappoint. It is set at Christmas as Violet and David's wedding approaches. Violet, a Thoreau expert, owns a magical bookshop that knows what book anyone needs and likes to help Violet solve murders. Unfortunately, the bookshop's contribution is to give Violet a book and have her figure out how it solves the murder and then solve it. Her fiance is David Rainwater, the police chief, and he hasn't always appreciated Violet's help. With the wedding approaching, Violet has keyed David in on her "help" but since the clues are often vague, he is sometimes as lost as she is as to what they mean.

Right before the wedding, a woman comes into the shop wanting to sell a rare edition of Henry David Thoreau's Walden. Violet won't commit to the price without time to verify the authenticity of the edition and the woman leaves in a huff. The next time Violet sees her she is dead outside her wedding reception without the book. With their honeymoon on hold, David tries to solve the murder with Violet and the bookshop's help.

If you like cats, bookstores, and cozy mysteries, check out this series.

I am thankful for the electronic copy of the book that I received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

missed the 4th book so I was a wee bit surprised with what I learned at the beginning of this book. Skipping one didn't make a big difference though, the changes didn't affect my ability to jump right into this story.

Flower delivers pretty much what the previous books in the series do, so, if you liked them, you'll like this one. The resolution to the case is a bit more involved than usual which I liked.

I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

I've requested Verse and Vengeance (#4) from the library. The blurb is really enticing.

Thank you to Crooked Lane Books for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in return for a review. Whenever I have the opportunity to read one of Amanda Flower's many books I know I am always in for a treat. Amanda is my favourite cozy mystery writer of all time. Every one of the series that she creates provides the reader with an experience that leaves the wanting more.

In this fifth installment of the Magical Bookshop series Violet and David are finally getting married. Opening with the hectic nature of a wedding Violet is preparing to marry the love of her life, the chief of police of Cascade Springs. Of course, things are never simple in the life of a magical bookshop owner. So when a woman attempting to sell a valuable first edition of Walden turns up dead at the wedding reception, Violet knows she needs to investigate.

What follows is a lesson in what obsession can do to a person when their entire focus is on one thing.

This book, like everything Amanda pens is really well written. Her ability to create and have the reader feel like they are in the environment is truly a gift. Her writing is so convincing that I went to Ohio Amish country since her Amish Candy Shop series is so amazing. I am definitely heading to Lewiston soon since her description of Cascade Springs is so mesmerizing.

The Magical Bookshop series is absolutely delightful. I love both the characters and setting. Every time I read one of the books I’m ready to jump in the car to see if Cascade Falls is real. This entry in the series is like a gift, from the first page to the last. Violet is such a likeable sleuth!

There is nothing I love more than cozy mysteries - unless it is a magical cozy mystery. I truly am so in love with the world Amanda Flower has crafted and wish that I could visit the magical Charming Books in person. Another great mystery and just an all around fun time!

Crimes and Covers by Amanda Flower is book five in the A Magical Bookshop Mystery series. This is a fun series.
Violet and Chief Rainwater finally tie the knot but a dead body puts a damper on the festivities.
This easy to read Cozy is full of suspects and plot twists. The characters are likeable and a couple are a little quirky. There are loveable pets and a magical tree. Of course, there is romance and a bit of humor.
I was given an ARC by Crooked Lane Books via NetGalley for an honest reivew.

Amanda Flower has done it again in book 5 of The Magical Bookshop series. This magical book store is an amazing location filled with wonder and murders to be solved. Look out for books flying or appearing out of no where as the magic at the heart of the store tries to help Violet with her sleuthing

4 .5 stars

A beautiful ending to a lovely series.

I’m not much on paranormal or mystical reading or I didn’t think I was until a few cozy mysteries changed my mind. This series was one of them. I love thinking about a bookstore that knows the right book to put in your path as you browse.

I’m sorry to see this series end but the ending was beautiful. Violet married the perfect man and the shop will continue on.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed above are entirely my own.
