Was not my cup of tea to be honest. It was very insta love and my jaw dropped when they were getting spicy within minutes of their second encounter! I feel like the 3rd act conflict came out of no where. If that was something the other character had been struggling with, I feel like the audience should have been keyed in a bit. Instead it felt like we were blindsided with the mc for no reason.

This is a cute romance that takes place in London and the meet cute happens at a bookstore. These elements sparked my interest immediately and I couldn't stop turning the pages. The chemistry between Aubrey and Blake is passionate perfection and I was cheering them on as I was reading. I enjoyed the author’s writing style and I'm looking forward to reading more from them in the future.

This was a cute and easy read, but it did not stand out to me. I lost interest halfway through, and while I did eventually return to it, I probably would have forgotten about it if I hadn't.

An adorable, opposites attract romance. There's something about a romance set in London for this American that adds an extra element of swoonyness, and watching Blake pull Aubrey out of his rut and his routine was an absolute delight.

A fun, steamy, adventure when a bookstore owner and actor discover more than just a fleeting attraction.
What happens when Audbrey Barnes falls for an american actor? When Hollywood decides to film in Aubrey's bookstore he will finally be able to figure out what matters most to him? Can he find the courage to let go of his past, be brave in his decisions and open his heart to someone he never imagined?
A Knotting HIll vibe with a little more spice and a lot of great secondary characters make this an easy read to get lost in, perfect for a holiday read.

This sounded incredible, an MM romance that I could root for and would be spoony. However, it fell flat on all fronts for me, I didn't love either character and felt they had no real chemistry so I couldn't root for them to be together. I finished the book but left feeling lacklustre and disappointed.

This reminded me of a LGBTQ retelling of Notting Hill. I thought the characters Aubrey and Blake had good banter, but something was missing. Aubrey's constant complaining tended to turn me off and I just couldn't quite connect to the characters as much as I wanted to. It had so much promise.

This book was just sadly not for me! I was hoping for something different but it turned out to be something I was not expecting, which is okay and I'm sure someone else would love it!

Y’all this novel was everything! The novel follows London :Bookstore owner Aubrey Barnes and American actor Blake Sinclair. The hustle and bustle of London is felt as Blake Sinclair and Aubrey have their meet cute. Present trope(s) were grumpy/sunshine. From different countries and individual worlds these two find each other and begin again. This novel kept me on the edge of my seat and enjoyed every minute of it. It was light hearted and gave me a satisfying reading experience.I highly recommend the audiobook as well. As a thank you to netgalley and the publisher I wrote this review in exchange for an advanced readers copy.Out of five stars on goodreads I gave this a high five out of five stars.

This story was a fun read! It's filled with lovable characters and a plot line that will pull you in. I loved the banter and the way the characters were chiseled. I loved the way Aubrey and Blake worked through their feelings and felt myself becoming a part of their story. I sat, turning page after page, long into the night and couldn't get enough of their story! Definitely a keeper and one to recommend to all!

omg so so cute. way better than I expected. I am so happy I read this one I loved the characters and the plot.i highly recommend.

This book was so cute! And wayyy steamier than I expected! I loved the characters and their whirlwind romance, how they coped with and moved on from past trauma. It was fluff but it was great fluff.

Sweet, romantic and oh-so-steamy, Stone sucked me in to Aubrey and Blake's love story. That it features a bookshop is an added bonus! (And huge props to the author forAubrey's annoyance at books being shelved in the wrong sections.) It totally gave me LGBTQ+ "Notting Hill" vibes in the best way.
Thanks to Entangled for the copy to review.

a queer retelling of notting hill that unfortunately misses the mark, this felt shallow and underwhelming and having been assured that it does not get any better, i won't be continuing with this book. far too much telling and no showing, no introspection, nothing deeper than surface level

the beginning is a hook i really it the main character is so hilarious and it is already hot I have a couple of problems with the book which i go into detail in my video review but overall it was an enjoyable story can't wait for the next book by the author

So I'm a sucker for all queer romance books, I'm not going to lie. The whole english gay meets drama gay is just so perfect and NOBODY DIED! Props to the author for making it completely about the couple and their story instead of getting stuck in the fact that they're lgbtq+

An Unexpected Kind of Love caught my eye because of the main character owning a bookstore. Whenever a book has any bookish related plot or setting I’m all in. It was also interesting to learn that the bookshop would be used as the setting for the love interest’s movie. I love books, so tell me more!
That being said the main character wasn’t one I could connect with. Aubrey complained a lot and just seemed grumpy most of the book. Nothing is good enough and everything is bad. Him meeting Blake changed that a bit for him, but in the end he was never a very likable character for me. Blake had the potential of being a very likable character, but I don’t feel we really got to know him except for the times he’s with Aubrey. I think more moments together would’ve helped or even a few chapters from his POV. The only character I really truly loved was Aubrey’s employee Gemma. She was a lot of fun and I have to say I’d definitely read a book about her.
Then there was the romance. Let’s say things get steamy pretty early on and there were a few cute moments. There was some ex drama that I could’ve done without, because I felt that it took away from the time we had with Aubrey and Blake. That being said there were some moments that were really sweet and had me smiling. I just don’t think this book really ever went deep with their relationship. What really had them connecting and wanting to be together was kept very much on the surface during this book.
All in all, An Unexpected Kind of Love was a fast and fun read. There were a few things that left me wanting more or fell a little short for me, but it kept me entertained and that’s what counts.

I had a hard time getting into this story. It just didn't capture my interest and I was glad when it was over.

A delightful book full of adventure, action, and thrills. Fun to read, engrossing world building, and very descriptive imagery made it feel like it was cinematic. It's hard to resist the story as it drives forward. Would recommend.
