Sallie H. Weissinger divorced her first husband and then found the love of her life, Matt through the personal adds. However, 24 years later, Matt dies of cancer and she is devastated. She actually suffers several losses over just a 4-year span. As she picks up the pieces of her life and learns to cope with loss, after some time, she wants to find another life partner.

She is in her 70’s and there are no longer personal ads in newspapers. In ‘Yes’ Again’, she shares her experience navigating dating websites. She does this honestly and with a lot of humor. Fed up with online dating sights she decides to try something new, she creates herself, she named PASTRAMI. It is an acronym for the traits she wants in a partner, for example; physically fit, adventurous, spiritual, traveler, etc… She then enlists the help of her friends to find men that fit the mold and even offers a $5000 reward to the charities of match makers choice if she stays with the man for one year. She even enlisted assistance to set up a PASTRAMI website.

After going out with men that sounded promising but didn’t work out, she was about to give up but then a friend told her about a guy, Bart that lost his wife about a year before. It was practically love at first sight for both Sallie and Bart.

In this heartfelt memoir, we learn the details about all of Sallie’s losses and heartaches and how she overcame the obstacles they formed. I think many people who suffer the kind of loss she did, give up on life and just go through the motions. Instead, Sallie throughs herself into life with traveling, volunteering, and eventually dating. Especially for a woman in her seventies, she is an inspiration. We can all learn a lot from her.

The thought of loosing my husband, now of 25 years, is my worst nightmare. If it were to happen, I will certainly need to read this book again to get reinspired.

“I still bounced out of bed in the morning without an ache or pain. Friends and meaningful activities fed my mind and fueled my body and soul. But I continued peering over at the empty side of the bed, a space I longed to fill. I missed having a soul mate.”

With the help of two voices in her head that she calls 'Sweet Pea' and 'Steve,' Sallie H. Weissinger narrates a story of love found, lost and, hopefully, found again. Weissinger lost her husband to esophageal cancer when she was in her late 50's, and the loss opened up a void in her life.

Although she led a fulfilling life otherwise, Weissinger felt unfulfilled in her romantic life, and wanted to find someone else to love. So, she decided to try dating again, and after 24 years of being off the market, the adjustment was more than she was prepared for.

'Yes, Again: (Mis)adventures Of A Wishful Thinker,' is a memoir of Wiessinger's time trying to find Mr. Right a second time, and the epic highs and lows of the world of modern dating.

Wiessinger writes with the kind of universally accessible flair that makes a good memoir shine. Although the reader may not have experienced her exact situation, she makes you understand how she feels, and makes you feel as though you were right there with her, going on all of these dates, hoping against hope that the next guy is not a dud.

'Yes, Again,' is not only a funny romp through the dating world, but a heartfelt look at Weissinger's feelings about the loss of her husband and an inspiring take on, as they say, 'getting back out there.' I think this book will galvanize anyone into action on their own love life and make you feel brave enough to get back out there yourself!

Am amazingly written heart-warming memoir, Yes, Again, doesn't fail to wrench our hearts and tear up our eye corners every now and then. Recounting her journey of finding love(s), heart breaks, losses, grief, perseverance, and pain, Yes, Again, is more a tale of self discovery and hope, rather than melancholy. Reading through Weissinger's path is a brilliant treat, and I loved every page of it. Be it dealing with her husband's struggle with cancer to which he succumbs later, or be it her resolve to cope up with the depression, or be it her spirit shown in the chronicles of her travels to Dominican Republic, each episode is remarkably endearing. I wish well for her and pray that she continues to revel in the peace she finds at the end of the book. My thanks to Weissinger, the publishers She Writes Press, and VABT, for gifting me with a copy of this book.

After becoming a widow at a young age, Sallie's encounters of finding love once again are documented with often hilarious adventures and filled with deep meaning and love. This book will take you on an adventure you will not forget, cheering on Sallie the whole way!
