This is the start of a new series and I'm eager to read them all. This is a retelling of Pride and Prejudice with a dash of White Christmas. I love the setting - the small town charm and the flower farm. I love the tight knit family from the parents to the sisters. And I loved all the talk about pie. I'm quite happy Annie will be her own book too.

Harper is working hard on her family's flower farm and isn't really in the mood to deal with Luke who will throw money and anything that'll make her happy. Until he can convince her to change her mind he'll show he'll do anything even help work on her farm to hopefully change her mind.

This was a pretty laid back enjoyable read. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and they they did things the way they did. I mean Luke seems like a jerk at first just going for his sisters every whim and paying for what she wants and finally met his match with Harper who wasn't about to just fold under the money. I loved seeing the interaction between the two which eventually followed by a romance and it was just a nice read over all.

The Magnolia Sisters is set in Northern CA, and follows the lives of three sisters. It has family, flowers, small town and of course love.
It is a heart warming story about family first, navigating business with your parents, and a nice enemies to lovers storyline to round things out.
The authors writing style helped me visualize the different settings. From the Anderson flower farm, to the pie restaurant in the small town, I was hooked.

So excited to see this is a part of a series, as I am anxious to hear how things turn out for the Anderson sisters and (hopefully) Annie!

Thank you NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing):for early access to The Magnolia Sisters!

This is a good book. The two main characters are Harper and Luke. Harper’s family has a flower business. Luke’s sister wants to have her wedding at the flower farm. They each have their ow issues from a sister’s wedding, to almost going bankruptcy, 2 noisy sisters, and trust issues. They eventually find love.

I thoroughly enjoyed this opposites-attract, small-town romance. I found the characters likable and relatable. I also enjoyed the beautiful setting of the flower farm and how they worked to save it.

I'm fairly certain I've seen this Hallmark movie before, but I wouldn't necessarily say that's a bad thing.

The small-town Northern California setting is reminiscent of Virgin River, as are the strong female characters. Our main protagonist this time is Harper, although this is the first in a series. Harper is decidedly not enthused when tech millionaire Luke comes to her family's flower farm to rent it out for his sister Annie's wedding. Not only would it ruin the crop, but Annie is marrying the one that got away from Harper's sister, May.

Undeterred, Luke...takes a volunteer job at the farm. Hilarity ensues as the city slicker tries to make it through the days. Meanwhile Annie ingratiates herself in to Harper's life and starts a scheme of her own to get Harper and Luke to see what's right in front of them - love, of course.

The Magnolia Sisters is a book you may read while sipping lemonade on the front porch, or instead of watching that Hallmark movie of the week. Predictable but sweet, it gives you the happy ending you expect.

This chaste, small town romance finds Luke showing up at Harper’s family flower farm and demanding they allow his sister’s wedding to be on the property. When they refuse he tries to break down the walls between him and harper, which result in feelings. Both have complicated family dynamics that both push them in and try to pull them apart. From the author’s note this book might be based on Pride and Prejudice but I wouldn’t call it a modern retelling as it deviated a lot from the plot of the source material.

This book was good but not great. The writing flowed really well, but I struggled with the immaturity of all the characters involved. Luke and Harper literally had a flour flight while making pies. There were times when I seriously questioned if Luke’s sister was in her 20s or if she was 13. I would be interested in continuing the series to see if they maturity level of the characters rises.

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for the ARC.

Like a satisfying Hallmark movie! The unlikely romance, the Northern California setting, and a secret that could destroy the Anderson Family Flower Farm. A quick, warm story, that kept my attention-rooting for romance!

A new author and the first book in a new series and it was worth it! Harper and Luke have strong family attachments and would do anything in the best interest of their families.

Luke goes to work for free at Harper's family flower farm to convince them to let his sister Annie marry there. He's unaware that her fiance was the former boyfriend of Harper's younger sister.

This is an enemy to friends story but can they move beyond their families perceptions to embrace a future together? Can Harper continue in a relationship where her boyfriend's sister is engaged to the man who broke her sister's heart? Can she give up the love of her life for the benefit of her family? You'll have to read to find out and you'll be glad you did! Looking forward to the next book in the series.

I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinions.

Loved reading this book. This author has several different series. I enjoy her books and I hope you do also. I couldn't wait to finish it.

The Magnolia Sisters was just the sweet, wholesome romance I didn't know I needed. It was neat and tidy - a little fluffy - relying on the enemies-to-lovers trope and big-city-mogul-visits-small-town signature plotline. Sometimes light and fluffy isn't what I'm craving and other times it's the perfect formula for mindless escape. At times I wished all the characters and the town itself were a little more fleshed out, but I think that may come later in the series?! Regardless, I enjoyed seeing love bloom and the charm of a family-owned flower farm in California is the perfect antithesis to another day of grey skies and random snow in our small corner of the world.

My thanks to @readforeverpub for my NetGalley ARC. Opinions expressed are my own.

This is an enemies~to-lovers romantic comedy. I loved the beautiful cover and the premise but it kind of fell flat for me. I didn't feel the fireworks between Harper and Like. Their relationship felt forced, and sometimes maybe even a bit over the top or overly sweet. I'd hope to fall in love with this story but it just didn't do it for me. Tom was a living ghost, everyone kept talking about him but he never made an appearance. For someone who'd been a staple in Hadper’s family, and most importantly for May (her sister), I found it odd that he just never showed up in something other than conversation. This is the first book in the series, but I'm not sure if I'll read the next one.

The Magnolia Sisters is a sweet, small-town, closed-door romance. Harper’s family owns a flower farm, and her life is all about this combination of family and work. When Luke Martin comes into town to help his sister plan her wedding, Harper isn’t impressed by big-time tech billionaire persona. But when she starts to learn more about who he really is and what he stands for, romance starts to blossom.

Exactly the type of romance I like to read -- no overt sex; just romance and a little tension. The perfect romcom of a book. It made me laugh, but never made me cry. Definitely will make you smile the entire time. OH, but I wish I can see their flower farm. I bet it is gorgeous.

Thank you NetGalley for this amazing book.

This is a lovely small town romance with a few fun tropes thrown in. Luke Martin is a young, almost billionaire thanks to his tech skills. His sister has come to a small town in California wanting to plan her perfect wedding and he will do anything to give it to her. When she spies fields of flowers she decides it is the ideal location for her nuptials. Harper Anderson's family owns the farm and flatly turns down his money is no limit offer because it will disrupt the harvest. Luke somehow decides that he'll go to work on the farm as a way to make her change her mind.

The characters are cute and Harper is looking for love. Luke is a typical fish out of water not realizing the labor involved in a flower farm. He also makes mistakes as Harper and his sister become friends. The premise is fun but part of the story doesn't make sense to me. The farm is in need of cash and Luke could have made his offer to her father who would probably have taken it. It wasn't really Harper's place to turn down the money. So the plot felt a little silly. Also their antics and behavior seem somewhat juvenile.

If is an enjoyable story and the beginning of a new series. I am interested in Harper's sisters and what their love stories will be. Squeaky clean. Thank you to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the perfect Hallmark movie! If you like romances that go from enemies to loving each other, you will really like this one. There are not steamy scenes, so I really enjoyed this story.

The description of the flowers, fields and the water near their house made it easy to visualize. It made me want to be there.

My understanding is this is the first book of the series. I think the other books will be about each of the other sisters. It will be interesting to see where the story goes for each of them and to get updates on Harper.

I enjoyed reading this book. Set on a flower farm, this story focused on the middle daughter, Harper, and the man she falls in love with. Looking forward to the next book!

Another 5-star romance for Alys Murray!

If you are looking for a quick, easy, feel-good read, something along the lines of a Hallmark movie, this is for you! Hillsboro County, Northern California is the home to the Anderson family flower farm. When an arrogant and wealthy L.A. tech mogul arrives in town and makes an offer to use the farm as his sister’s wedding venue, sparks fly and the indignant Magnolia sisters refuse to be controlled by rich people who think they can buy their way into anything. Not the smartest move … the family is struggling and this would certainly dig them out of the hole they are in financially. Can they put their stubborn independence behind them and come to an agreement that keeps both parties happy?

What I liked:
Clean, wholesome romance
Set on a flower farm
Jane Austen inspired
Small town
Family dynamics
Vivid imagery
Dual point of view
Enemy love interest
fantastic cover

Author Alys Murray explores the concept of duty; the Magnolia sisters’ duty to their family and their business as well as a brother’s duty in looking out for his sister. You’ll have to read to discover if, with both Luke and Harper putting family first, they can find a way to bridge the gap or soften each other’s hearts.

If you like cats, this features a sassy orange cat, Bermondsey. If you’re more of a dog lover, you’ll love the Maremma Sheepdog, Stella.

I’ve previously read and loved ‘Small Town Secrets’ and with two of this author’s great books read, I’m eagerly anticipating book 2 in the series, Sweet Pea Summer.

I was gifted this book by Alys Murray, Forever Publishing, Grand Central Publishing, and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.
