This was an entertaining read with lots of vibrant characters. I loved the initial attitude between Jack and Nora when she first rolled through town to set up shop in Silver Bluff, Colorado. I was hoping for more of that tension as their relationship continued to bloom into something more but unfortunately it lost some of its spark as the plot carried on. Nonetheless, their relationship was beautifully sweet and the "twist" ending was a fun surprise.

While this book was a standalone plot, I liked it enough to go back and try the first two in this series and will continue to look for new releases from Alexa Aston!

Nora and her family leave Louisiana and head to Colorado territory. After the Civil war, things are tough in the south and they want a new start. Jack has left Virginia for similar reasons, but he was from the north. Can these two get together? Good story and good characters (good and bad) that keeps the story flowing. Would recommend.

I really enjoyed this novel, but I wish there were more scenes with both main characters. I felt as if them falling in love was a little rushed, but I think towards the end it was fine. In addition, I wish there were more scenes highlighting her struggles with her old husband and their relationship as well as Jack and his experience in the war. But overall the book was good and I enjoyed the romance!
