I tried to connect with this novel, (I’d previously read C by this author) but I just couldn’t get into it. A lot of it was quite dense and seemed unrelated to previous parts . Some of it was clever and made me smile. Unfortunately I just didn’t get it and gave up about a third of the way through.

McCarthy is a prolific and original writer. This book was well written. I just didn't stay engaged throughout. This not a quick read and will probably best for serious readers that won't mind taking the time to get thru densely written prose.

I have started and put this book down three different times. I stopped after reading 25% of the book. It is not my type of novel. I wasn’t able to make a connection with the topic, characters, or theme.

Very complex novel, in a good way, that is just a really interesting read. Tom McCarthy's best book and he had already written some pretty good ones. Definitely recommended.
