(Sorry, I read this so long ago I don't remember much about it other than that I thought it was interesting, so gave it three stars on GoodReads)

I picked this one up because I really liked the title and it's also classified as Erotica/romance. I admit I love a really well written book that has great sex scenes. I read Roman's last book Body Image and really enjoyed it. From what I gather Roman is big on writing a story that the everyday person can relate to. In this romance who can't relate to being alone or feeling lonely. The two mains here both are in a place in their lives where they are alone. It is really the main focus here. Cole and Lee have this attraction to each other and once they decide to act on it, the chemistry is pretty strong. I liked that the chemistry rolls over to make for some pretty hot scenes in the bedroom. Also, the secondary characters in Hot Days adds more depth to the story. Overall it was a good book and I would recommend reading it.

I wish I could heap praise on this title as I like the premise. Unfortunately, the best I can do is 'this book was fine'. I wish I could say more than that, but it just didn't offer any wow moments for me. The two leads were fairly engaging and they had good chemistry, and the sex scenes were hot when they happened, but beyond that, it was kinda just meh. The leads actively thinking about there motivations became very repetitive to me...'oh, Lee is thinking about how she might have feelings for Cole but is leaving soon so it's pointless to get attached...again...'

Definitely a lot of potential, just didn't do much for me so 3 stars, maybe 3.5.

Hot Days, Heated NIghts takes place in the small town of Inlet, NY. Lee Walkers employer went bankrupt and she is unexpectantly out of a job.. She is forced to move in with her uncle that lives in Inlet. When she stops at a gas station, she is attracted to the woman that works there. Cole is the only lesbian that lives in town so her dating life is non existent. She is also instantly attracted to Lee. The two get together but realize that it will be a short time relationship as Cole is tied to Inlet and Lee is planning on heading back to New York. She has to make a decision about going back to her old life or staying in town to pursue her new love. I recommend this book.

I received a complimentary copy of Hot Days, Heated Nights in exchange for an honest review. The cover and story line intrigued me even though lesbian romance is not my normal genre. I really enjoyed the plot development and Lee and Cole's occupations and what led Lee to move to a small town.

The downfall for me, was the author spent way too much time jumping around from different people, topics, and issues, and most of it wasn't really relevant to Lee or Cole's story. I found myself skimming some areas just to get through the book quicker, and I didn't feel like I missed anything.

Thanks to Netgalley I managed to read this. I quite enjoyed it. Different from my usual books but I loved the romance. Great attention to detail as well.

I really enjoyed this book, it had some great characters with Lee and Cole. We were given plenty of character development with the author going in depth with their backstory which I loved. It's not your usual lipstick femmes which also grabbed me. There was some steamy sex scenes...bonus too! There's a lot to like about this book.

I really enjoyed this book. I picked it up because of the roller skates on the cover but I loved both MC. Cole was sweet and self assured, but not selfish and Lee was a hot mess of emotions. I loved how true to life this story was and the sex scenes… wow! A nice addition!

A gréât read, I really enjoyed the development of the characters and that there was more to it than just sex. I love small town settings too so that was a big plus for me

One of the main characters, Cole, is one of my all-time favourite characters. She was so well-rounded, kind and accepting - I loved how she wore her heart on her sleeve but was also self-assured enough to put herself and her needs first. The other main character, Lee, had a lot of issues due to her upbringing and it was nice to see her grow and overcome these throughout the book. There was an undercurrent of angst and sadness running through most of the scenes - this is not a book I would classify as a light read. There was one scene involving a pet that had me in tears. Overall, it was a well written book with some great characters for those looking for something with more depth than the average poolside read.

The funny thing was I almost skipped this book because the blurb and cover didn't really entice me to start reading, the book has been on my reader for quite some time and I finally decided to go for it. And I am glad I did! It was not a home run, but it was most definitely an enjoyable read and not what I was expecting. I liked the fact that they were communicating throughout most of the book, that is actually rather refreshing, main characters who talk about issues like adults. There were a lot of twitching bodyparts, accumulated wetness and hard peaks so expect some steaming sex scenes while reading this one.
The writer also touches on gender indentification with Cole who is outwardly seen as butch but wants to express feminine side too and learns that's okay too with Lee. The small town charm of Cole is written very well and I loved her grandmother. The struggle Lee has with finding a direction in life is something many people can relate too so I felt it was a rather realistic book. You don't need really wealthy people, princesses or amazing heros to be able to escape in a story and Renee Roman managed to deliver a book in support of that argument.

Wow! What did I just involve myself in?! This book was an iffy for me from the cover but am I glad I read it! I’m not much into lesbian erotica novel but the detail in this book was amazing! I felt I was there watching it play out. I will be reading more from this author. If you love erotica you NEED to read this one. Awesome job!!!!

𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀.

The mood of this book is a bit melancholic. It is about finding love amidst loneliness, and the book talks a little bit about gender identity too. Cole and Lee's path converge in a place where lesbians are few and far between. The friendship they have is really sweet, the attraction between them is almost instant and their clits twitch for each other frequently. Both of them are lonely people to put it simply but they react rather differently towards finding love. Cole is a lot easier to connect with and is absolutely sweet, whereas Lee acts up whenever feelings get real.

It is a sweet story that I should have been interested in but I somehow found it hard to get into it. And it took me a while to realise that it might be because I'm not used to the writing. Some parts were drawn out, especially their backstories and I couldn't feel much of the chemistry between the main couple. This isn't my first book from Roman. I liked Body Language so I'm a bit surprised by how I wasn't able to connect with this one.

An emotionally charged book, which gives a setting for the characters to really connect. Plenty of sizzle, and enough chemistry to keep you turning the pages. A lovely romance! Thanks to NetGalley and Bold Stroke Books for a copy of this book.

It is rare to see a lesbian romance book that takes place in a more realistic setting. Normally, the characters that work own a business with their families and everything is going really well, and when things get tough, things are resolved pretty easily. Not so much for the characters in this book. I felt for them and was anxious to see how one in particular got back on her feet. However, this book is not dark and depressing. The side characters keep things light and moves the relationship along, the romantic tension is good, the sexual tension is pretty good (although one part of the female sexual organ seems to have more phallic descriptions in this book which I found a bit distracting) and what little dialogue we get is standard romantic novel fair, nothing special.

The thing that dragged this book down, however, was the long descriptions and info dumping. Some sentences ran on for a long that I needed to re-read them several times to understand them. The author does far more telling than showing, which ruined the pacing in a lot of the parts. For example, we didn't need to know the entire life stories of the people who ran the company that was already closed as soon as it was introduced. The author goes into "god/omniscient" mode too much. It could've been solved through natural interactions with the other characters and let us get to know them more and how they interacted with each other. I'm sure this is a personal preference thing though, as I am more interested in characters and character interactions than long, flowery descriptions or information dumping.

All in all, it's an okay read. I wouldn't come back to it, but it was an okay way to spend a few hours.

3.5*

I did really enjoy this book, It was sweet, fun, but also intense and emotional. This is also a f/f love story and I liked how gender expression and identity was addressed here. In addition to the emotions and feelings, the spice was also there which I love. I thought some of the backstory of each of the characters was a little dragged on at points but I do think it helped me as a reader understand where they were coming from and why certain things were felt more than others. I definitely liked and gravitated more towards Cole's character and at some parts in the story it was difficult to fully relate to Lee, but I also think she had great development. The side characters, Nana, Uncle Dan and Michael were nice additions and I think they ultimately helped move Cole and Lee's relationship forward. this was a cute read, but definitely more on the heavier side rather than typical rom-com, but it was also still fully a romance. Nice quick story as well and I was rooting for the relationship!

Hot Days, Heated Nights by Renee Roman is currently scheduled for release on August 10 2021. Cole Jackson’s promise to her dying father has left her destined for a solitary life in the small town of Inlet, NY. After Lee Walker's employer goes bankrupt, her world crumbles, and she’s forced to move in with her uncle. When Cole and Lee meet, instant attraction quickly flares into uncontrollable passion, but their connection might be short-lived. Lee’s identity is tied to her life in the city, and she’s worked hard to make it on her own terms. Inlet, NY, is just a way station on her trip back to the world where she belongs. It will be up to Cole, and the heated nights they share, to give her a reason to stay.

Hot Days, Heated Nights took me on quite the ride. Cole and Lee are independent women that struggle with balancing who they are and what they want with the fear of being rejected, left behind, or humiliated. The story is as much about them coming together are it is about them resolving their individual issues and communicating. I enjoyed seeing the pair come to trust themselves, ad each other, as the story went on. I also liked that they issues they faced in the past were addressed, but did not overtake the other aspects of the story. The past events set the stage, but the damage was not the point, the growth made to foster love, communication, and trust is the point. I felt like the character development was very realistic, and I liked the secondary characters as much as the main characters. So much so that I would not mind getting more of the whole cast of characters at some point.

Hot Days, Heated Nights is a steamy and emotional romance with all the feels.

I thought this was a really good book. The relationship between Cole and Lee was a slow burn sweet romance. There were several different storylines throughout this book. The one that really caught my interest was how Cole viewed herself in the LGBT community. At times she was dressed more butch than at other times she felt a little more feminine and expressed that as well. My thinking on this is to be who you want to be and if people can't accept that than so be it. Luckily Lee saw what was underneath Cole's exterior better than most and accepted all of Cole's different sides. I thought the supporting characters helped move the story along. I especially loved the animals portrayed in this book. Daisy the beagle was only in a couple of scenes, but you could just feel how much she loved Cole and how much Cole loved her. Luna the German Shepherd was a good addition to the story as well she was so smart and funny. I could just keep going on about this book ,but I won't. I will definitely be looking out for what this author writes next, and would recommend this book and author to my friends and family.
