This has been on my NetGalley shelf for over a year, and I still haven’t picked it up. I've tried, but it just isn't for me (right now). I hope other people enjoy it more than I did.

I want to thank netgalley and the publisher for the Arc.

Rebecca has never had an orgasm. After her ex leaves her, she decides to participate in a study for those having trouble in the bedroom department.
Her study prohibits her from having intercourse. Enter, her hot new neighbour and her resolve weakens.

Things that worked were the healthy discussion on the big o and not making it a taboo topic.
Things that didn't work were the overlong descriptions (needed editing), her band of overzealous friends and that scene at the therapist's.

Love, Only Better was a ok read.
I did not like the main character, Rebecca.
Talk about toxic relationships!
Honestly not a book I would want to read again.

This was a DNF for me. The writing style was hard to get through. Some stuff was just severely over explained and some of the character portrayals were odd. The concept was alright but the execution was just lacking.

I really liked this book! Definitely less romance than I was expecting but it was a nice change and I truly appreciated it!

Lots to unpack in this book! It is definitely unlike other books I've read. Dives into some very specific issues, but in a tasteful way. Some laugh out loud moments for sure!

This checked off everything I look for in a book. Was not disappointed. Really enjoyed this book. I will read more from this author.

This book was not quite what I expected and instead of enjoying it, I just felt mostly uncomfortable. I eventually decided I had to move on and put this one on the DNF pile, unfortunately.

This was a fun story that hit an important and mostly overlooked topic. A women's fiction that is filled with some spice and some depth. But the writing style was a little off for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange of my honest review.

This book discusses taboo topics that are really important in our lives like facing our feeling, exploring and coming to terms with our sexuality etc but the way they are portrayed are somewhat really problematic.
I had to stick through it; I really did since some topics really intrigued but I couldn't finished reading it at my normal speed. I stopped 10-12 and then repicking the book.
The writing is way descriptive, the amount of self-loathing is high (and I have been there); some scenes were either almost bulling or sexual assault case waiting to happen.
However, I enjoyed author's note at the end thoroughly, to know from writer's perspective, How it to discuss and wanting to discuss female sexuality and pleasurer and not to shy away from it.

This wasn't anything like I'd expected (a good old contemporary romcom type story) and so I ended up giving up on it about 20% of the way through. The main premise of the story was an important subject to cover but it just wasn't my cup of tea and couldn't get into it.

Love, Only Better by Paulette Stout is a contemporary romance. For Rebecca, sex is a joke missing a punchline. No crashing waves. Only pangs of inadequacy. At twenty-eight, shouldn’t she have had one by now? Her snickering ex thought so. As did every guy who came before him. No way she’s dating anyone again. At least, until she can take “clueless in bed” off her dating resume. When Kyle moves in across the hall, his blue eyes and black motorcycle are magnetic. Sparks flew from the moment he rescued her takeout dinner from hitting the lobby floor. It’s the worst time for Rebecca to meet someone this dreamy. But how can she resist love notes taped to her apartment door? Hallway kisses? Sitting behind his hotness as the world zips by? It’s risky, though. To get past whatever’s blocking her in bed, Rebecca needs expert help. Sure, it’s unorthodox, but she’s desperate for answers. Rebecca doesn’t expect anyone to understand—least of all Kyle. If he learns her secret, he’ll think she’s a freak and bolt. Just once, Rebecca wants to get the guy and everything that comes along with it. Would she forever have to choose between feeling whole and being loved?

Love, Only Better left me with mixed feelings. I enjoyed the set up, and thought there was so many ways this story could go. I loved the frank discussion of sexuality and how much more complicated achieving satisfaction can be for some people. I think this is a very important topic, and one that is left behind for a variety of reasons. I think the entire book could have been about Rebecca's journey in that arena and have been a wonderful book. I found the characters in general to be a little one dimensional, and many of the interactions to be pro functionary rather than interesting. So much more could have been done with Rebecca and her circle of friends, more could have been done to build the relationship with her and Kyle as well. It felt more like the other character were after thoughts rather than important to the story, which is why I think it could have been more about just Rebecca or given us more depth to the other characters (especially Kyle). There were some really good moments, but as a whole the read left me a bit meh.

Love, Only Better is a good book about a woman understanding her own sexuality and needs.

Life is falling apart around Rebecca's ears. First, her boyfriend breaks up with her, calling her frigid and an ice queen. Then, her best friend moves out, leaving her fully alone. And that's not counting her boss steamrolling her at work and her parents alternately ignoring then influencing her life. What Rebecca needs is a change. Something to spice her life up. Something she's never had... an orgasm.

I found this to be an enjoyable read, keeping me on my toes throughout. The storyline was written well and flowed seamlessly. I look forward to reading more by this author!

This was a big disappointment and I barely got through it. I could see ptential in it, however the execution feel flat. There were also many moments throughout taht didnt feel right to me, between the videotaping and some of the jokes between characters that didnt sit right

I was eager to receive a copy of this digital ARC but unfortunately put in my DNF shelf. While the premise was unique and interesting, I did not find myself connecting to the story and ultimately gave up early on. Thank you again Netgalley for the chance.

I wanted to like this book, but I think the fact that it took me months to read is not a good sign. It wasn't bad, it just wasnt very interesting. I found that the same plotline was just being repeated again and agian, where she can't find anyone to help her and she becomes depressed and ta da! a hot guy who is so magically supportive and loved her at first sight. Also, the ending was very anticlimatic, even though I understand it was supposed to send a message. All in all, not a very fulfilling read.
