Professional organizer Charlotte Adams is hired to help a well-to-do former model named Lorelei clean out her closet. Lorelei recently lost her daughter in a tragic accident and is still grieving her loss. When she tells Charlotte that she believes her daughter was murdered, Charlotte's not sure what to think. Could Lorelei be right? Or is Lorelei looking too deeply into what the police concluded was an accident? Either way, Charlotte will dig deep to find the answer for Lorelei.

Charlotte's job was very interesting, making for a premise that's different than the typical cozy mystery. I also liked how the book provided organizational tips for people to try at home. I might have to try a few out!

This was a very-character driven book. The mystery is only one important storyline, as there are other storylines involving grief, romance, and motherhood. All of these storylines fit well together and added extra depth to the book.

Readers should know that it's definitely a bit darker than the typical cozy mystery. As someone who enjoys thrillers though, I liked that this book sometimes took a more suspenseful direction! During some scenes, I was on the edge of my seat.

However, one thing I think could have been improved in this book was the execution of the mystery itself. To me, it seemed as if the final solve came out of the blue. It's totally possible that I missed the clues and subtext, but I also think that the mystery could have been made more clear. Perhaps the clues leading to the final solve could have been made more pronounced, or perhaps Charlotte could have shared her reasoning more with the reader.

This is a series that's best read from the beginning. I was able to understand the plot without reading the previous books. However, I get the sense that a lot of character development occurred in previous books. I think I would have appreciated some storylines more had I read the first books in the series.

Readers should note that this book contains mild violence and brief mentions of domestic violence and family violence.

This is a very intriguing cozy mystery. Anabel Beauchamp's death has been ruled an accident. But was it? Amateur sleuth and professional organizer Charlotte Adams wants that question answered in Closet Confidential By Mary Jane Maffini, fourth book in this author's series, A Charlotte Adams Professional Organizer Mystery. I enjoyed following along as Charlotte discovers clues and solves the mystery. I like Charlotte and find having a professional organizer as an amateur sleuth different and refreshing.

I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review.

This quickly became one of my favorite series. I love the misfits. This is a great group of people and I'm happy they are still friends. I love these books. They are very well written and keep me guessing. Looking forward to the next one!

In Closet Confidential, Charlotte Adams helps out a woman whose daughter recently died. When Lorelei Beauchamp asks for her assistance with her seven closets full of designer gear, she tells Charlotte that she believes Anabel was murdered, so Charlotte decides to investigate. The plot thickens when Pepper mentions that her police husband Nick, who was on the scene when Anabel had met her fate, is acting strangely.

My fourth instalment in Mary Jane Maffini's Charlotte Adams Professional Organizer Mystery series was just as good as the first three. Professional organiser Charlotte is a marvellous protagonist whom I find to be compassionate and smart. The book is well-crafted, rich in humour, swift-paced and thoroughly entertaining. The mystery is very engaging and I was kept guessing until later on in this lively tale. I am already looking forward to catching up with Charlotte and her friends in the next instalment, 'The Busy Woman's Guide to Murder'. Very highly recommended.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel from Beyond the Page Publishing via NetGalley at my request and this review is my own unbiased opinion.

I first want to thank NetGalley for letting me review this book. This book is not new, but it is being re-reviewed for republication with the new book cover.

I had a blast reading this book, so I gave it four stars. I haven’t read a cozy mystery that deals with organizing your home, so this was a new twist. There are organizing tips at each chapter heading which leads into the subject of the chapter, which I found fun and helpful. This book deals with organizing closets.

As the synopsis’ says a friend ask Charlotte to help organize his wife’s many closets. Their daughter died a few months earlier and it has been deemed an accident. His wife is having a hard time dealing with this and insist her daughter has been murdered.

Charlotte says she will look into this death because she isn’t sure if it was an accident herself, as she was in Paris at the time. Her other friends want her to leave it alone, but Charlotte thinks that if she can prove it was an accident it will help her friend and his wife move on. Charlotte’s own life is in order (as you’d expect from a professional organizer), but looking into this accident has put her life in disarray. There are two many questions and not enough answers. Did the daughter die by accident or was it murder? Why is her friend insisting it was an accident, but why is his wife insisting it wasn’t? Will they find closure? Will the closets ever get organized? You will have to read the book to find out!

I love the organizing tips that start each chapter. When I get this in hardback, I'll have to get them written down.
The story was entertaining and I liked the characters. The mystery kept me guessing and I look forward to reading the last one in the series to find out what else happens to Charlotte ( and the rest of the characters)

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Beyond the Page Publishers and NetGalley for the gifted digital ARC.

Enjoyed the story very much. Likable characters. Full of red herrings.

This was a new to me mystery series, though I have read other series by Mary Jane Maffini.

Highly recommended for fans of cozy mysteries.

What a fantastic addition to the series! Charlotte has decided not to poke her nose into mysteries - as if!!! When Lorelei tells her Anabel was murdered, Charlotte decides to investigate. Meanwhile, Pepper comes to Charlotte one midnight and tells her Nick is acting strange. Coincidentally, Nick was the first responding officer on scene when Anabel's death was called in.

What starts as an harmless questioning (ahem, sleuthing) session turns out to be something murkier. It is up to Charlotte now to catch the perp and find out the truth before it is too late.

Closet Confidential is a new favorite in the series. I really loved the storytelling (Mary Jane Maffini is the best!) and the character development. The identity of the perp was a huge shocker - a wolf in sheep's clothing kinda scenario.

Mind-blowing, entertaining and completely engrossing cozy mystery. Highly recommended!

Loved it. Love the series even if she does remind me at the beginning of every chapter that I really do need to work on my closets. Fast moving and great friends. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. I am eager for the next one.

I am always surprised in this series by Mary Jane Maffini that while I somehow expect only fluff I am given depth and thoughtful suspense. Charlotte can't keep from investigating the death of a childhood acquaintance while her mother is grieving and insisting she was murdered, even though the police ruled it an accidental death. All of this is tied up with intrigue involving her group of friends and relationship angst. I was absolutely thrilled with the ending and am counting the days until the next release.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Each addition to this series is better than the previous, this one was no exception.
Had a lot of fun, thoroughly enjoyed and was happy to catch up with the characters.
The solid mystery kept me guessing.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Anabel is dead, and her mother is suspicious. A mother knows best, doesn't she? Or is the client, a former model, alcohol-soaked and mistaken?

Charlotte is finished investigating mysteries and murders. She just wants to know "for sure" that it was an accident.

Officer Nick is acting more and more odd, then he disappears! What is a professional organizer supposed to do? Hand over the baby to her neighbor, and break her promise? And what about her date with detective silky shirts?

Match your wits against a criminal so terrifying that Nick is willing to leave his wife and son. The police and community insist there was no crime. And only a lady with a tender heart and more guts than sense is willing to dig where her shoes will certainly be ruined!

If you're looking for a clever cozy mystery and organizing tips with each chapter, you're in the right place! Email your book club or buy a copy for relatives, and see who solves this mystery before Charlotte does!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this preview of the ebook in this fun series!

Did she fall or was she pushed? Follow the twists and red herrings to find out! The publisher's blurb is a good hook and I find myself WAAAY too tempted to get into spoiler territory, so I'll just say that no laundry, dishes, or vacuuming got done until AFTER I finished this funny and scary mystery.
This is a fully revised edition of a book originally published in 2010.
I requested and received a free temporary ebook from Beyond the Page Publishing via NetGalley. Thanks!

The book grabs the readers attention, plot moves along at a steady pace , and has great organizational hints. I actually tried one of them. However, why resort to cuss words. It is not necessary and actually gives a "hiccup" when you hit them. Reading along, into the plot and what is happening, then ###, out of place, out of character, doesn't fit. Very disappointed, an author that can hold your attention, unfold a mystery and keep you interested.

This was a fun, easy light summer read. The characters were familiar, and the organizing component was a fun, fresh addition to the "random person gets caught up in solving mysteries" genre. It appears this was a book in an existing series, so some of the characters were not as well developed, and their "motivational histories" were a bit thin, but that might be remedied with reading prior titles in the series.

CLOSET CONFIDENTIAL is a must-read for fans of cozy mysteries. As a big fan of home organization, I love the organizing set up.

Somehow I didn't realize this is the 4th book in the series. However, I'm pleased to report that you don't have to be familiar with the other books in order to enjoy this one.

Charlotte is an endearing main character and I really enjoyed her interactions with the other characters as well as her mystery-solving skills.

The side characters are entertaining. Much to my delight, there are several humorous moments in the story. The setting is quite charming and described beautifully.

Importantly, the mystery itself is well crafted. I appreciate the time and attention the author put into this book. I look forward to reading others in the series.

A Question of Murder…?
The fourth in the ‘Charlotte Adams Professional Organizer’ Mystery series and Charlotte is faced with a grieving mother. Whilst trying her best to help her the question of murder raises its ugly head and Charlotte becomes embroiled in an investigation. A lighthearted and entertaining read and a fitting addition to the series.

Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of CLOSET CONFIDENTIAL (Book 4 of the Charlotte Adams Professional Organizer Mysteries), by Mary Jane Maffini, in exchange for an honest review. Charlotte accepts a closet organizing job from a longtime friend of her mother. The woman’s husband is hoping that the project will help the woman cope with the recent death of their daughter. When the woman maintains that her daughter’s death was murder rather than accidental, Charlotte reluctantly agrees to look into the matter. Charlotte begins asking questions with the intent to prove the death to be simply an accident, but the answers to those inquiries lead to more questions. Charlotte finds herself doubting the official ruling in the case. Can Charlotte find out what really happened?

I liked this book and the series. I recommend the book to fans of cozy mysteries featuring murder, organizing, small towns, old friends, and old frenemies.

Charlotte Adams is just trying to keep herself out of trouble. When a grieving mother reaches out to Charlotte to help redo her seven closets full of designer wear and accessories, Charlotte can hardly say no. When Charlotte arrives to access the closet situation, she finds the deceased mother barely able to function and swearing her daughters death was no accident, as the police have claimed it was. What Charlotte has heard about this tragic accident, months previous, was that it was just in fact an accident. Enemy, turned friend, Pepper knows that her husband Nick was on the scene and he claims it was an accident...or was it? It seems Nick may have had a change of heart about the situation. When Pepper is found with a head injury and Nick running from the police, Charlotte knows she has to investigate further. She soon finds out nothing and no one is who they seem to be.

This is my favorite book in the Professional Organizer series so far. This one will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what plot twist could possibly be thrown in next. The murder mystery is nicely offset with a different closet cleanup job that will leave readers laughing at the hijinks the ladies come up with. As always, there are some fun organizing tips included . There is also a bit of a cliffhanger that I need some closure on, so I will be getting the next book in the series asap.

Thank you NetGalley and Beyond the Page Publishing for the ARC in exchange for my review.
