This book is a good fit for romance readers looking for a heartwarming contemporary story set during Christmas time with a cowboy hero and a woman on the run.

He would provide the safe haven she needed and help her finally feel safe after witnessing a crime. A perfect Christmas story that will make you believe in hope.

I couldn't quite get into this one. I'm a little tired of reading about heros who have to "...get control. And quick." They come across as cardboard cut-out characters. I guess I'm looking for an author who dares to go a little deeper into character building.

It was a fun, Holiday romance. I read it for both the hero and heroine and enjoy their love story tremendously. If I had a list of holiday romances, this will definitely go on top.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Another great book from one of my favorite authors. Highly recommend to friends and family.

The idea of a woman on the run and a man ready to step up to protect her with the beautiful backdrop of Colorado held many promises of actions and thrills. Unfortunately, the writing is more telling than showing, which did not help the stilted dialogue and tepid chemistry. The bright spot happens in the third act when the bad guys make their move and the hero(es) are questionably late. However, the predictable outcome is disappointing.

Who does love a good Cowboy Christmas! Donna Grant has warmed my heart again with this novel. "Home For a Cowboy Christmas" was just a enjoyable read. I really loved this story as it kept my interest until the very end. Hard to put down.

Emmy is on the run with need for a new place and protection. She is taken to Montana with Dwight to assist in her protection as danger tries to follow her.
Another good tale with romance and suspense.
Thanks to publisher and Netgalley for the book. Opinions are entirely my own.

I totally love a romance about a bodyguard. There’s always that little bit of suspense hanging over them. Emmy is on the run and Dwight is the cowboy that is going to protect her. This was a great read that I couldn’t put down.

Emmy is on the run from some really bad people and Dwight is the home where she is now placed because every time she is placed in a safe house she is found. This is a good book and I liked the chemistry between Emmy and Dwight. I like the rancher type story where he helps out the damsel in distress. There was a part that I didn't see coming and I liked that part too. This was a good book and look forward to reading more by this author.

ARC for honest review with no compensation Received from NetGalley, St Martin’s Press 4.5 stars

Home for a Cowboy Christmas by Donna Grant is a standalone romantic suspense and if you have read other books by Ms. Grant, you know you will love this book too!

Emmy witnesses a mob related crime and is on the run from those who want her gone for good. Every place she has been put with the witness protection program has been compromised so now she is placed on a ranch in Montana with a former FBI agent, Dwight.

Suspense, romance, attraction, passion, protect those you love, and so much more…read on to see how it all ends…

I don't think I've read too many books about cowboys. I enjoyed this two stories in one by Donna Grant. I am giving this book a 4 out of 5 stars. Our hero Dwight used to be in the military followed by working at other security entities which makes him the right guy to keep our heroine Emmy safe. At first I had a raise eyebrow moment after Emmy is first dropped off to the ranch. She was pretty much rip van winkle for two full days, and when she awakens, has a short conversation with Dwight and she's now cleaning his house? Lol The story was a bit too slow for my liking. I'm used to Donna's non-human characters and storyline. I still enjoyed this book.

I'm not too keen on the name Dwight (sorry all the Dwights out there)

I'm happy they got their HEA at the end. Especially after the crazy snow storm, and fight scene.

First, let me start the review by saying I love me some Donna Grant cowboy stories. They are usually just the right amount of steamy sexy and heart-swelling masculinity. However, for me, this one missed the mark in the overall details of the storyline. It is clear that the author and editor didn't consult a psychologist (I am one) before using details about PTSD and trauma in the book, as there are several plot points that use symptoms that aren't accurate to a diagnosis. I am hopeful that they consulted a professional prior to publishing the final draft, but unlike other books of Donna's, I couldn't read this story again after it was published. I was disheartened with the characters, as the inaccuracies pulled me out of the fantasy world and made it hard to pay attention to the story further. As a result of not reading the final printing, this book review was not published on any other sites in an attempt to be fair to the author due to possible changes that could have been made after the galley was published.

This stand alone novel gripped me from the beginning. Great characters, heroes, villains and a courageous damsel in destress. The author writes detailed descriptions of the settings and builds the story to an exciting conclusion. A bonus short story is included.

Bookkeeper, Emmy Garrett, is on the run in the witness protection program, but many Marshalls have sold out to the mob. Deputy US Marshall Dalton Silva takes her to the Montana ranch of his friend, Dwight Reynolds, former military, FBI and Homeland Security to keep her safe until the trial of mobster Joe Roma. As they spend time together they both realize that they found their "person", but will Emmy stay alive along enough for them to have a future? Dwight will see to it. Both suffer from PTSD, but Sam the dog, helps them with that.

I read an ARC that I received from the publisher, via NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Emmy was supposed to have been safe. She had been hidden by the U.S. Marshals, but they found her. Luckily one of the Marshals, Dalton Silva, had come to check on her at the right time. A few seconds later and she would have been dead. Now Dalton is moving her again.

Emmy is supposed to testify against Joe Roma, the head of the mob. He has people everywhere though, including inside the U.S. Marshals apparently. It’s now abundantly clear to Emmy that she won’t live to see the trial. She’s the only person that can put Joe away, but she’ll never live long enough for her voice to be heard.

Dalton takes Emmy to stay with one of his friends, Dwight. A man that can’t be bought by Joe’s people. And, Dalton isn’t leaving a record of where he stashed her for the moles to find. Dwight’s ranch is the safest place for her. Especially considering Dwight is former military, FBI, and Homeland Security.

As Emmy and Dwight get to know each other, an attraction between the two builds. Emmy knows that death is coming for her and she wants what life she has left, to be lived to the fullest. She jumps right into things with Dwight and right into his bed as well. Dwight will do anything to protect the woman he loves, but will he be ready when death comes barreling in?

It’s been awhile since I have read a Donna Grant book, so I guess I was due! I’m assuming this is the start of a new series as it doesn’t appear to connect to her other cowboy stories. And, I’m honestly here for it. I have really enjoyed her Heart of Texas series and find this to be in the same vein as that.

The characters in this story were strong and engaging. No wimpy heroines here, this girl is taking on the mob with no apologies necessary. Dwight was a good character as well. A protector, by nature, he won’t back down from this fight, no matter what is thrown, their way. He is one of those characters that’s almost too good though. And, let’s not forget about Sam (the dog) either!

This is an enjoyable read and a nice romance to take your mind away from real life for a bit. It’s not much of a Christmas story though, if that’s what you’re looking for. I do look forward to more books in this (hopefully it is one) series. This story was a decent start and I feel it can only get better from here!

Emmy Garrett is on the run and Dwight Reynolds is the only person that can be trusted to help her. at least that's what the US Marshal in charge of her case seems to say. Dwight has left this life behind but when his friend asks him to protect Emmy he's going to go above and beyond to keep her safe. He just didn't expect to find love with her amidst all the danger and threats. A romantic suspense/thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat and rooting for the couple to have an amazing HEA.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and I am voluntary reviewing it.

OMGoodness! This book was just full of suspense! The plot was right on and flowed beautifully. The scenes were written in a manner that made me feel like I was right there in the middle of everything. Even my fingers hurt in the blizzard scenes!!!

Emmy works for an accounting firm. She goes to the DA when she discovered that one of her clients had a man killed. One of the marshals responsible for her safety barely rescued her in time from an assassin. He knows that there is a leak so he calls in a favor from an old friend. The old friend, Dwight, is ex-military, ex-FBI and ex-Homeland Security. Dwight now owns and manages the family ranch. If anyone can protect Emmy until the trial, Dwight is the man to do it.

Seeing how Emma and Dwight interact was so enthralling to read. I enjoyed the multi-person POV here. Getting that glimpse into the characters' thoughts really helps me to fully understand the characters in the situation.

This was a sexy read so just a word of caution. But if you love your romance with mystery, intrigue and suspense, then you should give this a chance to captivate you as it did for me.
