The holidays are never complete without a little bit of holiday romance and why not throw in some sexy cowboys to make it even better. Donna grant has given us two beautiful stories of holiday romance between cowboys and the women that steal their hearts in her newest novel and I was thrilled to get the chance to read them. The first story revolves around a woman on the run as she tries to do the right thing and is dropped onto the doorstep of the most unexpected and sexy cowboy she’s ever seen. The Bonus novella is a sweet story of a city girl lost in the countryside when a grumpy cowboy finds her in a snowdrift and rescues her from certain death only to lose his heart to her. The stories are not connected in any way except that they share the basic holiday magic and the magic of Donna’s cowboy love but they are both great. Dwight and Emmy’s story was fast passed and filled with drama, while offering a sweetness and sensuality with the love that develops between them. Dwight has lived alone since he gave up his previous career and never imagines a woman like Emmy in his life, but he is strong and dedicated to keeping her safe and I loved seeing him in action. He was also loving and sweet as he helped her get over the trauma of her recent life events, which made it nearly impossible for her not to fall in love with him. Emmy has had a really hard time of it recently, but when she claps eyes on Dwight she knows instantly she’s safe with him and he is irresistible even though she has a lot going on in her life. I enjoyed seeing her finding her way out of the fog she had sunk into and back to her true personality as she recovered and her sass and strength came back to the forefront. They were perfect foils for one another and their passion and connection were amazing. Story two was considerably shorter but no less remarkable as Cady and Zane got to know one another and found their hearts connected. Zane wants nothing to do with another big-city girl, but when he rescues Cady from a snow storm, he is stuck with her as they are snowed in together. He was grumpy for sure but you could see he was like a bear with a thorn in his paw and when he opened his heart finally, Cady started to heal him. Cady never imagined she would lose her heart to a grouchy cowboy in the middle of nowhere but as she gets to know him truly he is a sweet and hurt man that she connects to immediately and she finds her heart lost to him. I loved watching her clash with him and the passion that they shared between them made it fun to watch. Once they both realized that the misconceptions they had about one another were just that, the bond they forged became something deep and lasting that is one we have no doubt will never fail. I loved both of these stories and they definitely warmed my heart for the holidays as these two couples found love and magic thanks to Donna. May the magic of the holiday season forever bring you love too.

Home For a Cowboy Christmas is a story I was not putting down until I was finished reading. Emmy Garrett and cowboy Dwight Reynolds meet when US Marshal Dalton calls in a favor to keep her safe on his ranch. The story has suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, villains, and romance. The story was well worth reading. I would recommend.

I received this ARC for an honest review:

Dalton Siva is a U.S. Marshall assigned to keep his witness Emmy Garett safe until the trial in which she will be testifying. she was a bookkeeper and you find out in the story which the author makes believable that being invited to a nice party and nice food for someone who has never had that or even the idea of that is exciting. Little did she know that the man she was working for was in the mob. Overhearing, and seeing something that she should not have has now put her on their list.
Dalton’s problem is that every safe house vehicle he has changed they are still being followed. Thinking that someone inside the Marshall’s office is helping them he decides to go outside and calls a friend that he knows will protect Emmy and is ex FBI. Dwight Reynolds opens up his home and ranch for Emmy and Dalton tells her she will be safe with Dwight. Here the story goes in a different direction and though yes later they like each other it is not right away. She remains leery, and still insecure about Dwight. Everything takes time and does not rush things which is another reason to like this book. Overall a good story well written and good characters.

Review: HOME FOR A COWBOY CHRISTMAS by Donna Grant https://wp.me/p3d0RZ-bUO

I liked this story. Emmy and Dwight were both people easy to like and understand. Their romance built smoothly and wasn’t bogged down with reluctance or misconceptions. The turmoil was from outside influences that both helped and added tension. The suspenseful danger of the story didn’t fully come into play until later in the book. By then, their romance had blossomed into a deep and sexy relationship. I enjoyed how it all flowed together seamlessly. Granted, the title had me expecting more of a Christmas story, but it did not disappoint in the happily-ever-after. It was a lovely feel-good story with just enough danger to keep my pulse up.

This book also has a bonus short story called WISH UPON A COWBOY. Cady and Zane were caught in a blizzard together. Their time in a cozy cabin was a whirlwind of hot insta-love. It was short, sweet and had me smiling after the story was over.

In Home For A Cowboy Christmas, it's the most wonderful time of the year. Well maybe for everyone else not Emmy Garrett. She is on the run after witnessing a murder completed by a mob boss. There was a leak regarding her most recent hiding place and after an assassination attempt she is quickly moved again. This time she is left on the ranch of Dwight Reynolds, who is former military and has experience with Homeland Security. From the moment they meet he knows he will do anything to protect her, even risking his own life.

The more time Dwight and Emmy spend together, the more the walls start coming down and trust is being built. Emmy feels safe with Dwight and the attraction is so strong between them. She decides to give into the attraction and just live her life. Her thought is she may not be here tomorrow if the mob finds her and she doesn't want to have any regrets. Dwight is so tender with her and you can tell her wants to take care of her - mind, body, and soul.

There is an immediate attraction between Emmy and Dwight but neither one is willing to acknowledge it. They have their own lesson struggles to deal with. For example, Dwight it is the responsibility of the family ranch, and the PTSD he experiences from his career Emmy is also experiencing PTSD from what she witnessed and the attempted assassination. Emmy's story really pulled at my heart strings. She really was just an innocent bystander who got in over her head

This story is suspenseful even with he touch of romance. You are unable to forget that there are people who actually want Emmy dead. There is also a winter storm brewing which isn't good for the ranch. These characters are both strong and independent and are learning that it is ok to lean on another person for support. It really is beautiful how comfortable they get with each other and the routines they fall into without even realizing it were fun to watch. So was watching them decorate the ranch for Christmas!

Donna Grant is well known for her fantastic suspenseful romance stories and Home For A Cowboy Christmas is no exception. I read this book in one sitting was highly invested. It was fast paced but the romance was well built and did not feel rushed. I found it be realistic and felt that Dwight and Emmy may have crossed paths in another time or place and still fallen in love. Plus, I'm pretty sure Dwight's dog Sam would have been there too completing their little family unit.

First, Donna Grant writes books to read. Good book to read. As others say believable, I say not so. But I enjoyed the story and characters. Worth the time to read.

Home for a Christmas Cowboy by Donna Grant has a little bit of suspense and a whole lot of romance. Emmy Grant has witnessed a horrific crime and is in hiding. Enter Dwight Reynolds, a rugged cowboy as her protector. Unfortunately, a hitman finds her hiding spot and Dwight has to work to save both of them. I read this just after Christmas and enjoyed it as much as if I had read it prior, so do not wait, read it now.

Quick read but enjoyable.

A bit of suspense mixed with romance is always a fun combination with Donna Grant’s cowboy books.

Emmy witnessed a crime and now she needs to go court to take a stand, that is if she can live to testify. While the court date is closing in Dwight is a last resort and will do everything he can to keep her safe.

This was a bit of a slower read for me but still a good one. I kept wondering when and if the hitman sent to take her out would finally come for her. I mean she's living on borrowed time at this point because it didn't end well for others in her place. I loved that not only do we get the point of view from the main characters but the hitman as well so it gave a bit more of a sinister side to things. With how Emmy was living and dealing with things you can't help but hope for the best for her she was paranoid of everyone and everything and its understandable. There was a bit of romance/attraction between the two main characters which I enjoyed, it was interesting seeing him get her to open up a bit more even if its only to him for this short amount of time. Theres not much else to say without saying too much about this book but overall it was an enjoyable read.

Home For A Cowboy Christmas had me on the edge of my seat! Emmy's getaway in disguise, a maze of waiting vehicles and burner phones by her trusted U. S. Marshal handler kept me reading. He delivers her to a safe place and then disappears. How exciting is that? Dwight is ex-military, FBI and Homeland Security. The ultimate alpha-hero. Easy to fall for. He's a goner as soon as he sees Emmy. Her vulnerability and strength an instant attraction. I enjoyed their fall into love. Donna writes a good love story. I received an ARC for an honest review.

My real rating would be more like 3.5 stars. 4 stars because the story was engaging, but 3 stars because I felt like the ending was rushed and it left some major plot holes for me.

Overall, a fun read. I was expecting a sexy cowboy Christmas story, but I got mystery, thriller, Christmas, and more. So, an unexpected but fun read.

HOME FOR A COWBOY CHRISTMAS - Donna Grant

A GREAT COUPLE - 4 stars

Plot - 4 stars - When Emmy enters the witness protection program, her life is still in danger as there is apparently a leak in the system. So her handler drops her off at a remote Montana ranch, having her protected by a former FBI agent who is also a friend. As Emmy and Dwight live together, they become closer and start to build a relationship.

Writing - 4 stars - Evidently, I have the same mindset as Grant because she gets inside my head and creates characters that I'd love to hang out with. She writes in a casual and comfortable style that is easy to read.

Characters - 4 stars - This is where the story shone for me. Emmy is a strong woman who has gone through a traumatic incident. But she's level-headed, and I liked her thought processes as she tries to live a semi-normal life even while she's still facing danger. Dwight is the strong and capable type who provides support and safety. But, of course, he's also a red-blooded man, so he's not against building a more personal relationship with Emmy. I liked them together, both strong but willing to be vulnerable with each other. And we can't forget Sam, the dog, who is especially sensitive to the PTSD that Emmy is experiencing.

Title - 3.5 stars - Yes, they do celebrate Christmas together, but it is not the focus of the story. I did like, however, that they shared a Thanksgiving meal, then decorated the house together for the holidays.

Cover - 3 stars - Not the most attractive cover, but fairly typical for this genre.

Overall - 4 stars - Grant handled PTSD in a sensitive and common-sense manner. Emmy is dealing with it in her current situation, but Dwight is very matter of fact about his history with this problem and provides her with much-needed support. Overall, this book is exciting and full of romance--two of my favorite things. The conclusion was predictable, but the path to get there was very enjoyable.

A fast paced Cowboy romantic suspense.

This is Donna Grant.’s famous style and heart.

Emmy and Dwight are a strong couple who fall in love in the shadow of danger.Dwight tries to stay professional but loses his heart.

This is a nice read but it wasn’t my favorite from her. It is worth a read if the tropes work for you.

3 1/2 stars

This book had me on the edge of my seat. I love the western, cowboy vibe but didn't care for the suspense element and drama.

Christmas Suspense?! Yes, please!

Donna Grant is a genius when it comes to combining small town cowboy romance with suspense and Home For a Cowboy Christmas is a new favorite!

The set-up, the chemistry, and payoff were wonderfully done.

Home for a Cowboy Christmas delivered a delightful, slow burn Christmas romance with a dash of suspense. Witness to a murder at the hands of a mob boss placed Emmy Garrett’s life in danger. To guarantee her safety, the US Marshalls placed her in protective custody. However, with a leak in the department, protective custody was an illusion. To ensure she stayed alive to testify against the mob boss, Dalton, the US Marshall who saved her from an assassin, took her to stay with his friend, Dwight Reynolds, on his ranch deep in the mountains of Montana.

Home for a Cowboy Christmas was such a wonderful story. From the moment I started reading, I knew it would be an engaging read. The story pulled me in, making it difficult to put down.

The romance featured began as a tiny spark and slowly developed into a blazing inferno. It was fun getting to know both Emmy and Dwight. It was also a pleasure getting acquainted with Dwight’s sister Victoria and his dog, Sam. Victoria brought some levity to the story, while Sam provided comfort.

Emmy was such a brave soul. A woman with guts. One would think that after staring down the barrel of a gun, she would change her mind about testifying. Instead, she did what she believed was right for justice to prevail. Dwight is no ordinary cowboy. The story introduced him as a former military officer, FBI agent and Homeland Security agent. Definitely a badass and the perfect person to protect Emmy. His protective nature and his feelings for Emmy shun throughout the story. Sam, taking a shine to Emmy and providing her the comfort she needed, gave an additional feeling of warmth to the story.

The suspense which bounced off the pages had me on edge. I felt like a nervous Nellie at every page turn wondering when the hitman will find Emmy. Despite knowing that Dwight could keep her safe, it didn’t diminish the feelings of fear the story evoked.

With such a suspenseful build up, one would expect an explosive conclusion. Unfortunately, it did not go as expected. The outcome was good, but I hoped for more. Despite the disappointment with the conclusion of the suspense angle, Home for a Cowboy Christmas was a satisfying holiday romance.

Tension-filled yet warm Christmas romance…

I love this author’s cowboys and Dwight is my new favourite! A strong, honest man, he opened his home without question for Emmy. He owed a favour yet she turned out to be his greatest gift…
Emmy was traumatized, on the run, looking for safety she honestly believed was not possible. Resigned, she was determined to live every day to the fullest and Dwight was going to be her greatest leap of faith…

It is so cold outside and this was the best way to snuggle in and warm up. The characters and their story filled every dark place with their no-nonsense approach to the danger they were in, and the growing love between them. Throw in an irresistible four-legged sweetheart and this became a one-sitting read.

Great holiday read with a bonus novella that was icing on the cake!

Finally! I was having a Donna Grant draught and it wasn’t good. Unfortunately no arcs were granted from the Reaper and Dark King series, so imagine my delight when a cowboy arc from Donna came up on Netgalley.

And what a story it is. We start the story when Emmy is fleeing for her life. She was put in a witness protection programm, but apparently there was a leak and someone tracked her down and put a gun to her head. She was rescued at the last minute, and now she is taken somewhere safe. That safe place is a ranch in the middle of nowhere in Montana.

Dwight doesn’t hesitate when an old friend calls him out of the blue with a request to hide a witness. He didn’t expect the witness to be a gorgeous woman though. But he soon realizes that Emmy has been through a lot and that she is suffering from Piss. Having been there, he tries to help Emmy, together with his loyal companion Sam.

Emmy is convinced that she will not live through the trial. And for now, she is even happy to just get through the day without having a panic attack. Fortunately Dwight’s dog Sam exactly seems to know What she needs. Slowly Emmy learns to cope with the fear and with her horrible memories. And she even starts to fantasize about a life on a ranch, with a certain yummy cowboy.

But then words get out that the people looking for Emmy are closing in. Can Dwight keep her safe? Or will Emmy flee again? As usual with Donna, she keeps you on the edge of your seat, with a tissue in your hand. Loved it! Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
