Home for a Cowboy Christmas by Donna Grant was a heartwarming story. I enjoyed getting to know Dwight and Emmy. She’s in the witness protection plan and he has a remote ranch in Montana where she is hiding out. He’s a natural protector and the two of them fall for each other hard and fast. And it works. Romance with a little suspense; all in all a sweet little cozy weekend read! Thank you NetGalley for this copy to read, review and enjoy!

Good story with a nice mix of suspense and romance. I enjoyed Emmy and Dwight's chemistry and commitment to keeping each other safe.

I definitely have a soft spot for Donna Grant books - whether it is dragons, cowboys, or international operatives - she always grabs and holds my attention. This book is a standalone from any of her series - but I do hope to see more of the people in the story. I feel like there are a lot of stories left to be told!

Emmy is in the federal witness protection program and it is failing her. In her first safehouse she was almost murdered after her location got out. The agent protecting her takes her to the middle of nowhere in Montana to his friend, and formal homeland security operative, Dwight's ranch. Dwight's got skills and is ideally placed to keep Emmy safe. As you might expect, Dwight quickly falls for Emmy - but he is a really really good man and doesn't pressure her or make her feel uncomfortable in any way.

I liked so much about this book - and the holiday aspect was definitely a very natural fit to the book. What is taking it down from four stars to three - is how some parts didn't 100% work for me. Involving Dwight's sister - for example felt a little off - even though she was clearly a vault when it came to information - it just felt super risky and out of character for Dwight. The last bit of drama was also one that challenged by suspension of disbelief as well.

But overall - I really liked it and I think fans of Donna Grant will definitely be 100% on board with this!

Emmy is a bookkeeper who witnesses a mob murder and is in witness protection, but the bad guys get to her. The marshal saves the day and whisks her away to his friend, Dwight. They fall in love, but Emmy is afraid that they mob will find her and end her HEA, so she says nothing. True love conquers all.

There was a bonus novella (Wish Upon a Cowboy) with completely unrelated characters (Cady and Zane) that in only a week they find true love. Very sweet extra story.

A cowboy and Christmas in a snowy cabin, what more could you want.
It caught my eye with the description and I wasn't disappointed.
Emmy is on the run and needs to be put into protection as her last safe house was found.
She's taken out to Montana by the US Marshall who has a friend that he hopes will protect her until the case comes to trial.
Dwight Reynolds is happy to help out. He's determined to keep her safe but as each day passes he starts to feel more for her than he should. He knows she will be gone straight after Christmas too.
But with her life is in danger can he still keep her safe or will his feelings put her in further danger.

I enjoyed this, although very insta love, it still worked. Its a sweet read, with decent plot and a little heat, perfect to read on a cosy winters day.

Snow. A Montana ranch equipped with former FBI military man Dwight. A woman on the run, Emmy. And a smart dog named Sam. I made quick work of Donna Grant’s Home for a Cowboy Christmas. I like the holiday season a lot better with a cowboy under the tree. Some of the themes in the book would be considered old fashioned but they resonate with me. The danger element only heightened the suspense in this spicy romance. Dwight is welcome to rescue me any day. So travel to snowy Montana for a good dose of romance, danger, and a sense of home.

If you are looking for a story to get you in the hometown holiday mood, this one is a winner. It is short, sweet, and offers so much packed into this book without it being overwhelming. The perfect amount of heat, suspense, slow-build romance but with the hot alpha cowboy that is just so perfect! MMmmmm

Grant builds awesome characters that blend together so nicely. No one overpowers the other – they just balance so nicely and you cannot help but like them! The sweet heat is throughout the story not just crammed into the ending. I seriously enjoyed this one so much! I wish it was a full-size novel – but you do get a short story along with it too.

A splash of the holiday spirit, suspense, and romance all rolled into one sweet read! More, please!

Another cowboy romance where he protects a girl running for her life. There were some good moments - the dog Sam, his sister Victoria, but it felt like they were ok with each other and a light switch turned on for both of them at the same time. I wish the tension built a little more and the ending didn’t feel so rushed.

Donna Grant’s latest story, Home for a Cowboy Christmas, with a bonus short story, Wish Upon a Cowboy, has all the feels that Ms Grant is so well know to weave into her stories. From heart stopping suspense…as the reader, you knew what was going to happened (picture an Alfred Hitchcock movie), you just didn’t know when, thus keeping you in anticipating suspense…to sigh inducing romance, there isn’t a page that doesn’t have you within its grips throughout the entire story.

Once again it’s fantastic to be able to loose yourself within a gripping romance and keep all the distracting outside voices at bay. I always look forward to any book by this author, I know I’ll be thoroughly entertained.

Yowza! Great holiday story with intrigue and suspense and trouble, with a capital T. I loved Emmy Garrett! She still has a strong spirit – and cares about the safety of those around her – even though she is in some very big trouble, through no fault of her own. And Dwight Reynolds…okay, if I’m ever in trouble, I’d want him to protect me, too!

Slow build to this relationship but the author made it strong and true. Emmy needs a champion, not only to help her get thru her ordeal, but to help build her self-esteem back up so that she truly feels like she deserves to have a life – happy and free. Dwight is a great champion, even when he acts like a stubborn, scared “boy” when it comes to his feelings. But there is no one better to protect what he has grown to love.

Was on the edge of my seat for a good part of this book. Really enjoyed!

Dwight is a man who feels the need to protect those around him. It is an ingrained trait. I admire Dwight’s honorable behavior. He refuses to take advantage of Emmy during a difficult time. Dwight knows she is not in a good mental or emotional place to welcome a relationship. What I adore the most about Dwight is his willingness to help Emmy deal with her PTSD. Since he is a recipient of the same problem, Dwight knows the signs and symptoms, so he knows the best ways to overcome it.
Emmy is such a courageous woman. She has been through such a harrowing experience that many people would have buckled beneath. I admire Emmy’s integrity. It took incredible bravado to testify against a mob boss. Emmy knew that it would endanger her life, but she could not let a criminal go unpunished. What I like about Emmy is how her traumatic experience allowed her to discover things about herself. She let many opportunities pass because of her fear and uncertainty.
HOME FOR A COWBOY CHRISTMAS is a standalone, holiday-themed novel from Donna Grant. I am not really a fan of holiday stories; however, I do make exceptions for certain authors. I like how the story encompasses both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Thanksgiving is a holiday not commonly found in books. However, the two holidays are not the main focus of the plot.
HOME FOR A COWBOY CHRISTMAS is a wholesome and warm-hearted tale with the right amount of suspense. Dwight and Emmy’s romance is more of a slow-burn than instant attraction, which made it easy to enjoy.

Who doesn't want to fall in love with a hunky cowboy who is a softy at heart, but all muscle and man on the outside? I don't think Emmy nor Dwight ever stood a chance at not falling for one another. The little nuance of everyday life, and how Emmy and Dwight start to have feeling for one another. I loved the protectiveness that is ingrained in Dwight, and that Emmy isn't the type of woman that feel pity for herself. This is a great story that makes you want your own cowboy for Christmas. A good amount of drama, a good amount of suspense, and a good amount of steam.

There was just the right amount of world building and character background to get you to picture everything in your mind. This is a stand alone with an HEA. This story is written from a third-person perspective, which I don't usually prefer, but it was smooth enough that it made it a smooth read.

Emmy is on the run after witnessing a murder ordered by her client. She is placed in a witness protection program but when evil infiltrates the US Marshall's protecting her, she is found with a gun to her head. One of the US Marshalls (Dalton) came back to check on her and saved her life grabbed her and ran because he couldn't trust anyone who was tasked with her protection. There was one he could trust; an old friend from the past who owed him a favor; Dwight. Dwight had been in the military, FBI and Homeland Security before heading to Montana to take over the family ranch. He had the ability to keep Emmy safe while Dalton tried to find the leak in his department.

Emmy was scared and convinced of certain death. She suffered from PTSD and didn't feel safe anywhere anymore. Dwight and his dog, Sam, helped her to begin to heal and feel protected. They began to have feelings for one another but was it worth pursuing or would it all end in disaster when Emmy had to return to Denver to testify in the trial against Joe Roma. Or would she even be able to survive long enough to testify.

This story was very engaging and kept my heart pumping. There was some foul language and a few descriptive sex scenes, which I don't particularly enjoy but the story was good and well written.

I loved the dynamic between Emmy and Dwight. I like to have just a little more suspense in my stories, however, the plot and excellent writing kept my attention throughout the entire book.

Home For a Cowboy Christmas is a sweet contemporary romantic suspense. Emma is in witness protection, trying to survive until the end of the year to testify against a mafia boss. When her location is compromised and she is almost murdered, the lead US Marshall on her case asks a friend to hide her on his farm. Dwight is not your average rancher, a former FBI agent with a military background knows what he’s risking bringing Emma in. Close quarters lead to an undeniable attraction and as the danger ramps up, an HEA is in the works if they can just survive until the trial. Dwight wins hearts over quickly and Emma brings out the protector in every reader until you are emotionally invested in the story and a happy ending. Emmy is a determined witness and stronger than she thinks she is, it’s not an easy path that she decided upon. She reported the crime of her own volition and though knowing how dangerous it is she intends to provide testimony, that is if she manages to survive until the trial.

This entertaining story focuses more on the budding romance between Dwight and Emmy than the suspense which is always in the background and when it arrives is dramatic and fast-paced. The main protagonists are likable, relatable characters who are kindred spirits, and the more time they spend together the more they realize that they are the missing pieces of their puzzles.

Emmy is a typical woman that works with numbers and on an occasion likes to dress up and go out to a really nice party that one of her clients puts on.. but everything In her life changed the day she witnessed something horrible. When the D.A. got this information her u.s. Marshall stepped in to protect her but things were getting hot so he could only do what think of was the best take her to a buddy he knew out in the middle of nowhere. Dwight always said he owed the D.A. his life so helping out a dangerous situation he had no problem.

Home For A Cowboy Christmas is a magnificent romantic suspense with a holiday twist by Donna Grant. Ms. Grant has once again provided readers with a well-written story. The cast of characters in this book are a perfect fit. Emmy was rescued only a blink away from being shot in the head by Dalton. Dalton knows there's a leak and leaves Emmy with his friend Dwight to protect. Dwight is former FBI and Homeland Security and now runs the family ranch. Dwight and Emmy's story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I loved this book from cover to cover and look forward to my next book by Donna Grant. Home For A Cowboy Christmas is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I didn't enjoy this book, perhaps because the premise was certainly not light or perhaps because there didn't seem to be any great chemistry or interaction between the two characters, which were prone to instalove anyway and that didn't sit so good for me.

Questo libro non mi ha divertito per niente, forse perché la premessa non era certo leggera o forse perché tra i due personaggi mi é sembrato che non ci fosse poi nessuna grande chimica o interazione e ciononostante si sono immediatamente innamorati, il che secondo me non aveva poi cosí tanto senso.

Home for a Cowboy Christmas was a quick, fun, entertaining read. It is a pleasure to have a female who is part of the solution. Emmy was a quick, clever and resourceful character. She needed help, not saving. Romance and suspense in equal measure made this book one I will be recommending. Great characters, vivid descriptions and a clever plot.
