This was a good mashup between a thriller and romance. There was a real dangerous threat looming over all the romantic and Christmas feels between the main characters. I liked the mob informant story line even if Joe the Mafia Boss seemed like a C list gangster played by Joe Pesci and who was married to a Real Mob Housewife of NJ. It was clear his inferiority complex is what made him such a loose cannon.

I also liked that the heroine didn't play coy with her attraction to the hunk for long. If you are being hunted by a mob hitman, of COURSE you put hunky rancher at the top of your bucket list over dinner in Paris or running a marathon. ;)

This is a great book to pick up if you are looking to bridge the gap between fluffy Christmas romcom and a juicy edge of your seat thriller.

Short and sweet and sexy. For a shorter story this one has all the feels. When Emmy is put into witness protection and found US Marshall has to find a safe place for her. So he calls on an old buddy Dwight to protect her. This was fast paced and I really enjoyed the story

Emmy never thought being a bookkeeper would end up with her on the run. However all it took was one client, inviting her to an exclusive party. That night ended in her watching her client murder a man, without remorse.

Going to the DA ends up with her on the run, even escaping near death. She got lucky when her US Marshall interrupt the attempt.

When he hides her out with his friend Dwight he knows she will be safe until he can figure out who the mole is in the agency.

With Emmy and Dwight being in such close quarters, it’s hard not to get to know each other, and hide their attraction.

Emmy never expected to make it to trial but with Dwight she feels safe, and is starting to feel hope. Danger is lurking though.

This kept up the suspense while also building the relationship between Emmy and Dwight. While this happens over the holidays it isn’t holiday centric so if you’re not ready for holiday reads don’t worry.

I received an arc for review, all opinions are my own.

Christmas is supposed to be a time for warmth and family. Not for Emmy, unfortunately. When you witness a crime and the mob boss wants you gone, yeah, Christmas isn't going to be good. Until her US Marshal brings her to the ranch of the only man he can trust - Dwight Reynolds. Now this gorgeous, intense man with the kind of training needed to keep her alive, just may help make this a Christmas to remember, for both of them. IF he can keep her alive in time to testify, and if he can get her to give him her heart the way he quickly gives her his.

As holiday romances go, this one is great. It's got suspense, romance, and of course all the holiday spirit you could ask for. Dwight and Emmy fell quickly, but it felt organic, not over the top or forced, and the suspense helped keep the story moving along. Not that I'd wish to be on the run from mobsters, but all the other aspects of this holiday story make me wish Christmas were here already!

Lots of heat, suspense, romance all packed into one book! Emmy is forced into hiding when she's almost killed while waiting to testify in a trial. Dwight, former military, FBI and Homeland Security, is asked to take her in and protect her by a US Marshall friend. Not only does he protect her, he falls in love and she falls in love in return, but she's always thinking that she won't make it to trial let alone be able to have a life after the trial. Loved the twists toward the end, was an enjoyable read.

Home for a Cowboy Christmas grabbed me by the emotions from the start and never let go in this fast-paced Romantic Suspense set around Christmas-time. While it is a shorter story, that did not affect how quickly I was drawn into Emmy and Dwight’s story or the intensity of the life or death situation they found themselves in.

Emmy witnessed a mob killing and now there is a price on her head to prevent her from testifying against a mob boss. Unfortunately, there is a leak within the protection detail she’s been hiding under, and thanks to an unexpected visit from Dalton, the US Marshal who was assigned to protect her, Emmy barely escaped with her life. Now she’s headed to Montana to a remote ranch where Dalton’s friend who is ex-military, ex-FBI, ex-Homeland now runs the family ranch. No one but Dalton knows where Emmy is and he’s determined to find the leak that gave away her location.

Dwight may have left his law enforcement careers behind when it came time to take over the ranch – but he hasn’t lost his edge or the knowledge that those careers built within him over the years. Emmy should be safe with him… but will he be safe from the growing attraction toward the woman who is frightened, has a price on her head, and will eventually leave.

As always, Donna Grant has given me a story to fall into, one that is believable, keeps me on the edge throughout waiting for what comes next, and a couple who fit together so perfectly. I enjoyed Home for a Cowboy Christmas and now I really want more from this world. I adored Sam, Dwight’s pup, and the relationship he shares with Emmy and Dwight in their story. Lots of interesting characters, some vile as possible others on the good guy team. I was simply swept away to the beauty of Montana as a woman on the run finds her happiness in a loner cowboy and can start building their future.

If you love Romantic Suspense, or Christmas time romances, or just a darned good story then you’ll want to add Home for a Cowboy Christmas to your seasonal reading list… or give yourself a gift, you deserve it.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

In ‘Home for a Cowboy Christmas’ we meet Emmy Garrett. Emmy has been on the run since she witnessed a murder. Now things get even more dangerous, and the Marshal in charge decides to hide Emmy away on the Range of an old friend. Dwight Reynolds has been living his life, taking care of his family Range after a career in the army, FBI and home security. When an old friend comes by needing a space for Emmy to hide away, he immediately agrees. From the moment Dwight sees Emmy, he wants to take care of her and promises to do anything in his power to keep her safe.

‘Home for a Cowboy Christmas’ was a fun read that I definitely enjoyed. The two main characters Emmy and Dwight are very likable, and their romance was really sweet. I loved how Dwight wanted to take care of Emmy, and how charming he was. He definitely was one of the good guys. Emmy was also fun, but I don’t feel like we got to know her all that well.

There was also a bit of suspense in this book, but it wasn’t all that much considering we start this book right in the middle of Emmy’s big escape to the range. I thought it would be a bit more to be honest.

Although ‘Home for a Cowboy Christmas’ was a fun book I enjoyed reading, it wasn’t as great as I hoped. The romance was definitely a bit instant, especially from Emmy’s side and I missed the chemistry. It was also a bit predictable, but not in a bad way. Overall, a fun romantic Christmas read.

A gripping romantic suspense with strong, independent, caring characters and great pace.
Donna Grant’s newest page-turner begins with Emmy’s heart-racing escape from Denver where she is supposed to testify against one of the most powerful mobsters and where, despite being placed into a witness program, she was held at gunpoint. Her handler Dalton Silva needs to find who in the Marshals office is leeking the information, but first and foremost he needs to hide Emmy and he even knows the best place- his old friend Dwight’s ranch. Dwight has a lot of military and Homeland Security experience and would anything to protect an innocent like Emmy. There is no safer place for Emmy, who is suffering from PTSD.
Donna Grant is a master of creating fast-paced stories with loyal, protective men and strong, independent women, and love born out of danger. If you enjoy the forced proximity trope, you’re going to love the way Emmy and Dwight develop feelings for each other. They feel safe and comfortable in each other’s company, understand each other without words, have the same values- perhaps these extreme circumstances brought together two soulmates who would have never met otherwise.
Add one of the most beautiful settings- Montana mountains around Thanksgiving-Christmas period of time and you have my heart melting. Well, there’s also a lot of heat in this perfect blend of romance and suspense, but, if you are a fan of Donna Grant’s, you probably expect some passionate scenes.
A quick and enjoyable read for any reader who loves a good romantic suspense story. Can’t wait to read Donna’s next book!

He's her temporary protector.

I liked this tightly paced suspenseful read.
Emmy is in hiding (Witness Protection) but there's a leak, so Dalton hides her with his buddy Dwight. While she's stashed at Dwight's there is an immediate attraction between them. Which they of course act on. You like Dalton, Dwight and Emmy, while she stays outta sight to testify against a mob boss.

Fast paced, well written.
Recommend,.

I could not put this book down. Emmy is put under the witness protection program after seeing a murder. Unfortunately, the person she is to testify against is a mob boss and has people under his thumb, even in the US Marshall’s organization. Because of this, Dalton arrived just in time to stop her from being shot. Dwight Reynolds owns a ranch in Montana and had told Dalton if he ever needed him for anything at any time to just ask. As Dalton didn’t know who was the leak, he ask Dwight if she could stay there on his ranch. As the trial grows closer and the hit men are moving in, will she live long enough to testify. Will Dwight be able to keep her safe. I loved how Sam, Dwight’s dog, knew when she was stressing and was by her side. The longer the two of them are together, the closer they became. A great story and I totally loved Dwight and Emmy. I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

So when I see a book by this author, I always know that I will like it. I'm glad that I was right! Emmy Garrett is on the run after witnessing a crime. When she keeps being found, the US Marshal in charge of her protection takes her someplace that no one should be able to find her. And now she is stuck in a remote place with a handsome cowboy to protect her. Dwight Reynolds may have left behind his old job but it's still a part of him. And when an old friend calls in a favor, he lets a woman on the run stay with him. And even though he tries to keep away from her, there is something about her that calls to him. And when danger comes looking for her-he will risk everything to keep her safe.

There is always something about Ms. Grant's cowboys that just sucks me in! I don't know if it's the fact that they are protective and alpha all while having a sweet side? Whatever it may be, I absolutely loved this story! I was hooked right from the beginning with Emmy! She is sweet and funny with a backbone of steel, but she also has nightmares about what happened. I liked her from the start. Not only was she scared spitless but she still was determined to do the right thing. A beautiful woman inside and out. Dwight is this stand up man who has his own issues with his past. But he is determined to do what is right and necessary not only for himself but for his land and family. I loved everything about him! These two together just complimented each other in every way. Not only could they have conversations and actually talk to each other but they also have that chemistry that I love to see. Throw in the side characters (his sister, ranch hands, neighbors, etc) and there wasn't anything that I disliked about it! I do hope to see more in this world. Especially since I really liked his sister and the US Marshal! I definitely wouldn't be opposed to this turning into a series!

Love the setup! Emmy witnessed a murder so she’s in witness protection, but there’s a leak and she almost wound up dead; there’s hit men after her. She ends up on a secluded ranch in Montana with sweet and sexy cowboy Dwight, who is friends with the lead US Marshal on Emmy’s case. The connection between Emmy and Dwight is there from the beginning, but due to the situation, both try to resist. Passion won’t be denied! Emmy and Dwight are great together. Love the whole forced proximity scenario, and the ranch setting. Plus, I enjoyed that the story takes place during Thanksgiving and Christmas time! I enjoy the danger and suspense too; fun and entertaining! I enjoy this author’s writing style too. Really enjoyed the whole story! Plus, there was a bonus short story, Wish Upon a Cowboy! I loved that story too! Another forced proximity scenario with sweetness and steam during Christmas time! Cady finds herself stranded on the side of the road during a snowstorm. Luckily, cowboy Zane comes along! Entertaining read!

I have been a huge fan of Donna Grant's writing for years and I have read and reviewed all her books that I have read in the past 10 years or so.

Home for a Cowboy Christmas is a standalone Contemporary Romance that has some suspense in it.

I loved this book so much but that didn't surprise me because I have loved every book by Donna Grant that I have read so far and let me tell you that is a lot of her books that I have read.

If you are looking for a good Romantic Suspense book then I do recommend this one.

3.5 Hiding and Being Found Stars
* * * 1/2 Spoiler Free-A Quick Review
It has become the "Season" and Donna Grant has given us a rugged ex FBI/Military man being asked to look out for a woman who saw something that has put her in danger. We have a mole in the Witness Protection group because our gal keeps getting found and put in constant danger.

When a past co-worker ask our now cowboy to take the woman into his home in Montana, it was a no-brainer. Of course, he would help, it was for a limited time, and he wanted her to be able to testify as planned.

What wasn't planned was the chemistry between these two with the backdrop of the holiday season warming the story.

I thought this was just an all-around good read. A well crafted combination of romance and suspense that kept me happy and eagerly turning those pages. I liked Emmy and Dwight and enjoyed their chemistry. They do a bit of a slow burn but the simmer is evident and very worth it. Add in a sprinkle of holiday charm and you have an extremely satisfying read.

it was an okay read. It felt very slow paced and a lot of attention on shopping at one point in the book that i didn't feel added anything to the story other than she needed clothes
