I didn't realize when I requested the ARC that this is the same author of [book:Float Plan|54017982]! This was a sweet story and it didn't feel as heartbreaking to me as Float Plan. I also liked that Mason wasn't perfect out of the box, and instead he and Rachel worked through challenges together.

Kindly received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I truly loved Float Plan when I read it a few months ago so to have the opportunity to get this ARC was awesome. I want to thank @netgalley and @stmartinspress for allowing me the access to this one.
Lately, I've really been getting into what I'm terming #smutwithsubstance, romances that are just a bit more involved, a bit more realistic, than the usual. I'll post some of my favorites that I think fall in that category at some point in the next few days. Anyhow, this one definitely fits into that category, which didn't surprise me when I realized that Rachel is Anna from Float Plan's sister.
Rachel, our leading lady, is fired by the hotel she has given her last ten years to on a false allegation by a guest. She feels like she's hit a brick wall, living with her mother and her four year old daughter, now unemployed. She hears about a new job as a manager at a brewery hotel in Ohio (she's a Florida girl!) and takes life by the horns and relocates with hope for a brighter future. There she meets Mason, only to realize that there is no hotel... yet.
I absolutely loved the #slowburn that happened in this one, the way that Mason showed Rachel over time how steady and consistent he is. I also just started school in hospitality management, which is what Rachel took, so was really excited about different features they incorporated into this unique idea. I would love to work at a place similar to this, especially if there's a hottie like Mason waiting there for me!
I finished this one in one day but, as you'll find out, I'm a fast reader so that's not really saying a lot for me. I wish I had stretched it out so I could've enjoyed Kelleys Island but now it means I can get some homework done tomorrow!
Thanks again @netgalley and @stmartinspress but a special thank you and kudos going out to @trishdoller

Rachel is unlucky in love but her time with Brian resulted in a sweet little girl, Maisie. Brian is an unreliable dad, and it is obvious that he will never commit to Rachel. When she is fired from her job as night concierge in Florida, the only job she finds is in Ohio. She is hired by Mason to manage cabins located on land housing a brewery. Mason seems to be a recluse, and not comfortable around Maisie or Rachel. Rachel loves creating exclusive cabins, shopping for furnishings, and fixing up the brewery. This is a wonderful story of being brave enough to get over heartbreak and move forward. I love the community of Kelly’s Island, the yoga group, the book group, and Mason’s friends. Rachel has a way of bringing Mason out of his shell and realizes she is falling in love with him. Maisie seems to capture Mason’s heart as well. There is a lot of comedy, a really cute little girl, strong family ties, and romantic gestures. Great book.

The Suite Spot was a lovely book. It didn't have any shocking realizations or plot twists, but it was a simple, sweet story of love and second chances. Rachel has long dreamed of owning her own hotel, but has never made the leap to make those dreams happen. She's been stuck in a rut, until the day she's forced to take a step out of her comfort zone. Mason has been stuck in his own rut due to grief and life changes, but he's decided to move forward and live his life instead of watch it pass him by.

Rachel is hired as the "manager" of Mason's cabin getaway in Ohio (a far cry from her Florida roots) but she's surprised to find that the job title of "manager" is a bit misleading. It's actually a flat out lie. Mason hasn't constructed the cabins yet and is giving Rachel carte blanche to decorate, design, and basically get everything up and running if she chooses to stay on. In a leap of faith, Rachel agrees and they spend their days working, learning, and growing together.

I loved the cameos of Anna and Keane in the book (from Doller's novel, Float Plan) - Rachel is Anna's sister. While The Suite Spot is not a sequel to Float Plan and you certainly don't have to read it to follow along with the storyline, it gives more meaning to Anna and Keane's relationship than what is alluded to in The Suite Spot.
Overall, an easy read with a lighter subject matter than Float Plan - there were some hard topics, but the focus was more on the recovery than the tragedy.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The Suite Spot by Trish Doller is an excellent contemporary romance that is the second book in the amazing series: Beck Sisters.

I loved the first book, The Float Plan, featuring Anna, so I knew I had to read Rachel’s story. It was equally as enjoyable.

I loved the location of the novel: Kelleys Island near Lake Erie. It is right up my alley. The descriptions of the landscapes, locations, and surroundings were peaceful and enjoyable amongst the ups and downs of the issues of the characters and the issues with reinvention and renovation.

I liked Rachel and Mason’s stories. Both have their own issues they bring to the table, but both have their strengths as well. I enjoyed their “opposites attract” interactions that gradually moved towards tolerance, friends, and more during their professional workings. I enjoyed their progression throughout the novel, and I most certainly enjoyed the outcome.

5/5 stars
