I love reading these samplers to prepare for Fierce Reads' future releases. There are usually a few that I come away interested in. Unfortunately, this sampler pack was not as successful for me as the past ones. The majority were fantasy, though there is nothing wrong with that, fantasy is just not my genre. However there is one book that I came away really excited about, that being Bad Girls Never Say Die. I will definitely be picking that title up. As for the rest, I know others will love them, but they are just not for me.

Little Thieves and Lakesedge were already on my radar but definitely adding the others to my TBR after this. Loved the remix feel and the different styles each took in their retellings.

I loved the "Remix" theme of this sampler! It made for an unexpected grouping of novels and gave me ideas for showing my creative writing students different approaches to retellings and "remixes" of stories we know.

I enjoyed reading a sample of some of the upcoming books. I will definitely be checking out 3 or 4 books that were in the sampler.

This sampler includes samples from six upcoming fall 2021 releases. I enjoyed them all and if you’re interested in any of these books i recommend giving it a read.
Bad Girls Never Say Die is about friendship and what it means to be a “bad girl”. It’s
pitched as a gender flipped The Outsiders retelling.
So Many Beginnings is a remix of Little Women with four Black sisters as the main characters.
Lakesedge is a gothic romance with monsters and magic.
Little Thieves is a goose girl retelling/reimagining.
Daughters of a Dead Empire is pitched as an Anastasia retelling with friendship and a rich historical setting.
A Clash of Steel is a Treasure Island remix with a sapphic romance.
If any of these sound interesting to you, i recommend reading the samples and the books when they come out.

I enjoyed being able to sample each of these titles. I particularly enjoyed the sample for ‘So Many Beginnings.’ Being able to preview several upcoming releases was wonderful, as it allows someone to figure out if the book might interest them or not.

This is a great sampler that gives a nice taste of all the exciting and good books coming out this fall with Fierce Reads. I really enjoyed reading this sampler and I'm excited and can't wait to read the rest of some of the books. The books I am most interested in after reading this chapter sampler are Bad Girls Never Say Die, Little Thieves, and Lakesedge. As with any sampler I thought the stories were good. Added a few to my tbr. My favorite was Bad Girls Never Say Die JENNIFER MATHIEU.

This was a great sampler of six new YA novels coming out this fall! The sampler including several retellings/remixes, including Little Women, Treasure Island, and the Outsiders. The sample chapters were all very interesting. I'm most excited for Bad Girls Never Say Die, which is by the same author who wrote Moxie, the inspiration for the Netflix movie. I'm also really intrigued to pick up Lakesedge, which I hadn't heard of before but is a gothic fantasy with gorgeous writing.

Overall a really great overview of Fierce Reads' fall releases!

Review of Fierce Reads Fall 2021 Sampler: Remix Edition

I voluntarily read and reviewed this sampler through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This sampler is a wonderful preview to six new young adult remixes including a remix of Little Women and The Outsiders. Each sample starts at a different point of each book: some start right in the thick of things and some start from the beginning. The pieces included in the sampler were just enough to truly act as teasers because when readers finish the samples, they’re left wanting more. I personally plan to check these books out when they come out this fall.

My favorite sample was of C. B. Lee’s A Clash of Steel. It’s a remix of the story, Treasure Island, and Lee’s sample starts right in the thick of things. Sample readers get some context for the story which explains the motivations of Lee’s protagonist, Xiang, for going on the quest, and sample readers get to witness Lee’s protagonist, Xiang, starting her quest to find treasure. This sample includes just enough information to help readers understand what’s going on while also leaving readers excited to find out what happens next.

This was fun to read. I recommend this sample for anyone who wants a sneak peak at some exciting books to be released in Fall 2021. 4 out of 5 stars.

I downloaded this sampler primarily for the preview of Lakesedge and Margaret Owen's new book, Little Thieves.

The samples of the books were great, but I wanted more. At least we're over halfway through 2021, so the wait for the books' releases isn't too much further in the future!

Highly recommend this sampler to anyone who would like to give Fierce Reads' fall titles a try.

As with a chocolate sampler box, I bit into each of the six excerpts and found my tasty favorites. I'm especially excited about Bethany C. Morrow's *So Many Beginnings: A Little Women Remix*: and Margaret Owen's *Little Thieves,* a fresh take on The Goose Girl fairy tale.

I love these previews! I discovered books that I didn't know about and now I'm looking forward to reading them in the future.

I always love to read retellings of classic stories, and these stories didn't disappoint. I especially liked Bad Girls Never Say Die! With the popularity of The Outsiders at my school, this book will be a nice addition to the stacks and one that will be exciting to offer someone looking for a similar read.

I mostly wanted this for A Clash of Steel and So Many Beginnings. And both delivered!! I am so excited to see C.B. Lee's version of Treasure Island and Bethany C. Morrow's version of Little Women, or remixes, as the titles say. I already love the POVs of both stories and will definitely have both of these books on my TBR for Fall 2021. Definitely pick up this sampler to get a sneak peak of thse stories.
