This is such a perfect resources and I got a bit caught up in reading through, but I absolutely love book samplers! This is a such a great way to find upcoming titles! I added quite a bit of these to my tbr and I can't wait to they release.

Okay this was a really cool way to do samplers! I really loved the beginning of A Clash of Steel! It has such a interesting setting, and I'm curious to see where it goes!

I'm also really excited to continue Daughters of A Dead Empire and Lakesedge.

I think Bad Girls Never Say Die will be perfect for a fall read!

Every time there’s a Fierce Reads/Macmillan chapter sampler, my TBR expands! Personally, I’m very excited to read Lakesedge, because I love sibling stories and it feels like the chapters only scratched the surface of the true plot. It seems like the perfect read for fall! I had not previously heard about Bad Girls Never Say Die, but I’m intrigued by the idea of a gender-swapped Outsiders. I’ll also be on the lookout for So Many Beginnings and Little Thieves- I can’t wait to see what happens next! Little Thieves was particularly impressive because it told a very intriguing, fast-paced story within only a few sampler pages. Thank you so much to Fierce Reads/Macmillan’s Children Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to read the sampler in exchange for honest feedback.

Many thanks for the sampler!

A great sampler introducing me to books that I haven’t come across yet. Huge thanks. I enjoyed the stories and look forward to checking them out when they are released. Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the excerpts.

I love these samplers because they give enough of a sample of each book that I can decide if I want to preorder or request them. Since I'm very picky about writing style, the samplers let me quickly weed out the ones that look good but aren't written in a way that I can appreciate.

A Clash of Steel - OK This looks Amazing and I will absolutely be ordering it. I was on the fence about it so I'm glad this sample confirmed my hopes.

Bad Girls Never Say Die - This one wasn't on my radar as it's not the sort of book I usually read. The sample was intriguing and well-written though so I'm considering it.

Daughters of a Dead Empire - This one was one I had dismissed but after reading the sample... it looks really intriguing and I'm going to add it to my considering short list.

Lakesedge - This one gives definite horror vibes and I definitely won't be reading it. Just a bit too dark for me.

Little Thieves - This one also looks Amazing (and great writing - but after Merciful Crow I expected nothing else). I actually already have an ARC of this one and I can't wait to get started on it.

So Many Beginnings - I love Little Women and from the sample (and the audio ARC which I am actually currently reading) I can say that it is excellently written and is true to the spirit of the original while changing enough things to make it entirely it's own thing.

I love reading all of the Fierce Reads samplers because I always get to add new books to my TBR and this sampler was no different. My favorites that will definitely be added are Little Thieves and Lakesedge.

A Clash of Steel: A Treasure Island Remix by C.B. Lee
This seems to focus on a small family business that our main character hopes to take over. I personally don't think it was a good idea to start the sneak peek in the middle of the book on page 139 because it confused me and made reading very frustrating. It appears to involve a map and pirate vibes though which is a great way to take the plot. I most likely won't end up reading this one though.

Bad Girls Never Say Die by Jennifer Mathieu
The vibe of this one was really great! However, I did not learn as much about the plotline of the book as I would have liked. Our main character seems really sure of herself when it comes to standing up for herself and others and I think really great friendships will come out of it.

Daughters of a Dead Empire by Carolyn T. O'Neil
This book is filled with Russian culture and political intrigue which drew me in. I also really love the writing style and pacing because it's captivating but also action-packed which held my interest. The characters are very intriguing and their dynamic has to potential to keep me invested. I would really like to read more from Carolyn T. Neil.

Lakesedge by Lyndall Clipstone
The main focus so far is the familial relationship between siblings Violetta and Arien. Lyndall Clipstone's writing grabbed my attention from the first paragraph and I'm really interested to learn more about the cause of Arien's nightmares and the way religion is woven into the story. We also seem to have an abusive parental figure so keep that in mind before reading.

Little Thieves by Margaret Owen
First of all, Death and Fortune are living beings and the first characters we meet which is the best plotline I've read out of all the sneak peeks in my opinion. I absolutely adore this concept and I think Margaret Owen is a genius for making their characters. The best line in the entire sneak peek is the very last one, "This is the story of how I got caught".

So Many Beginnings: A Little Women Remix by Bethany C. Morrow
Seems to be primarily historical fiction which is not my typical genre. I'm going, to be honest, and say that I have no idea what's going on in this book. It could be because this is the last sneak peek of the bunch, and I also have never read Little Women. I don't think Bethany C. Morrow's writing personally works for me.

yes, i only picked this up because of lakesedge. yes, my excitement for lakesedge has only doubled.

i also am finding myself intrigued by bad girls never say die, daughter of a dead empire, and little thieves. bad girls never say die was on my radar to begin with so i can say with confidence that i'll be picking it up now. the other two have been put on my radar so we'll see where that goes.

the "remixes" weren't my favorite. i'm just not a big fan of redoing classics. just personal preference. the writing was good, i just have no interest in picking them up.

such a great collection of books! so excited for this fall.

A Clash of Steel: I thought it was a bit weird that we got a fragment from the middle of the book, but nonetheless: I can't wait to find out what was happening here!

Bad Girls Never Say Die: Though I had my doubts about this premise, the writing pulled me in immediately and I'm actually very intrigued now!

Daughters of a Dead Empire: I hadn't heard of this one yet and I can't fathom why because it really gripped me and I'm excited to see the story unravel!

Lakesedge: Reading this tripled my excitement because the writing is so atmospheric and perfect for the story!

Little Thieves: Perfect first sentence and even beyond that just wonderfully written. One of my most anticipated releases now for sure!

So Many Beginnings: The preview didn't give away much but I'm still excited to see what the author does with this Little Women retelling!
