This book is about a chicken who feels they belong in a book about dinosaurs because they have body parts that look the same. In order to prove it, the chicken shows off different dinosaurs and how they evolved and their characteristics to prove that birds are related to dinos.

Honestly, this is the perfect book to read with children before bedtime or for teachers to use as a fun way to teach children some basic dinosaur facts. This paired with the fun and quirky illustrations is sure to please any dinosaur-loving person.

This is such a fun and silly book. A chicken is in a book about dinosaurs?! We learn a little more about how chickens are descended from dinosaurs. It's pretty entertaining.

The truth about dinosaurs introduces you to a chicken who believes he is a Dinosaur descendant. He shows us his family album as proof. It's a fun book for children who love dinosaurs. They'll enjoy laughing at the silly chicken.

Very cute and a quick read for children. Interesting way of introducing the fact that chickens evolved from dinosaurs. We enjoyed reading this.

I love the idea of this book. I thought it was a great way to introduce children to dinosaurs though in a slightly different way.

I imagine in physical form the design will come across much cleaner, but the 'book within a book' design on screen was quite difficult to follow. The writing was also quite cramped-looking.

Guido Van Genechten’s The Truth About Dinosaurs is a fun picture book for very young children, told from the narrative of a chicken. Throughout the book, the chicken goes through their family photo album in an attempt to prove to the reader that they are in fact a dinosaur. The illustrations are cute, and there are some jokes slipped in here and there. However, if you are looking for dinosaur facts, this isn’t the book for you. Being that dinosaurs as such as fascination for so many young children, the target audience is very small. Any young dinosaur aficionados you may know will likely be disappointed. This is likely best suited for toddlers who haven’t yet discovered dinosaurs.

My toddler and I loved this book! The chicken teaching about his ancestors is an adorable way of teaching kids about dinosaurs and linking them to the present. And the illustrations are great!

The Truth about Dinosaurs is a sweet little pictures book illustrating the ancestors of the common chicken, Gallus gallus domesticus.
This is NOT a book full of facts. Rather, it is a gentle introduction to the concept that chickens evolved from dinosaurs, and demonstrating thw similar traits each have.
I would have liked a few more facts, or some more.details of the changes that occurred along thr timeline between Triceratops and Chicken, but my kiddo liked it as-is.
Perfect for preschool/early school aged kids.

A very cute story that is also jam packed full of information about dinosaurs also.
Tells a story about a chicken who is part of the dinosaur family and she shows off lots of similarities, by showing off family photos etc.
Great illustrations.

This was both hilarious and educational! I recited this in a classic squeaky voice to my younger cousin. She loved it.

I like the family photo album that Mr. Chicken pulled out. It was so cute. Salute to the creativity of the writer and the illustrator.

This is super cute and very informative! It features a chicken explaining over various pages, and via cute little photo albums, their various dinosaur ancestors. I actually didn't know all of the dinosaurs that chickens are descended from, so it was cool to learn more! Definitely recommend!

Great illustrations, lots of good information, but hopefully the formatting for Kindle/ereader gets fixed before publication as even some of the text was jumbled together. Otherwise it’s a very nice book and both of my kids (5 and 7) enjoyed having it read to them.

Thank you to the author, Clavis Publishing and NetGalley, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the concept of this book - an introduction to dinosaurs for smaller children - and the illustrations. are wonderful. Having a chicken go through something like a family scrapbook and explain how she is related to dinosaurs is a great hook. However, I wish there had been a bit more emphasis on facts, rather than just humor. All the children I know would gravitate to this book, but most would be disappointed that it's so lightweight in terms of factual information.

This one was just okay for me. I liked the idea of it was cute- the chicken tells how she is related to dinosaurs by guiding us through different types. But there wasn’t a whole lot of facts or interesting tidbits. It left me a little flat. I thought it would be a fun one for littles who love dinosaurs.

This is adorable. There's no other way to put it. This is the perfect book to introduce kids of all ages to the dinosaurs still among us. The words feel like it's a favourite uncle telling us the family tree at holiday times, complete with scrapbook pages and memories. This book should be on every dinosaur lovers bookshelf.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

The Truth about Dinosaurs is a fun and cute children's book about how chickens have originated from dinosaurs.
The book starts with a chicken who claims to be a descendent of dinosaurs then goes on to prove it by getting the family album out.
The chicken shows where his feathers, feet and looks come from through history of dinosaurs.
This is a mix of humour and factual information for children and great for any Dino fan.
