This book has bright, engaging and friendly illustrations. It also includes a good amount of information on park rangers and the work that they do. The dress and equipment of the rangers are described as are some of the many jobs that they do. For example, park rangers check on the forest after a storm. They may take people on nature walks. They also may have to decide if there are tress that need to be cut down.

Children may well be intrigued by the many facets of the ranger’s job. At the end of the book there is a quiz in which readers decide in what season a job may be completed.

Young future rangers, enjoy this look at your career.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title. All opinions are my own.

this was so fun and i think even i learn a thing or two.

it’s explained in a very simple & effective way, this book says what needs to be said, nothing more and nothing less.

i really liked the activity at the end of the book.

overall, this was very fun and im sure children who love outdoor activities will love it.

Thanks for the chance to read through this book in exchange for honest feedback. I think that this book is a good idea, and the illustrations are charming. I actually would consider buying something like this because my sister, who just had a baby, always had aspirations of being a park ranger. It would be cute to share with her child. However, I think that the only critique is that there may be too many words/too much in the paragraphs. Either better formatting or some editing wouldn't go amiss.

This is a super cute book about park rangers, and I love that it tackles a profession that isn't necessarily celebrated often enough. The illustrations are cute and informative, but there's a lot of text! This seems more fitting for a classroom lesson than for casual reading, but definitely loved the depth of information.

Nice little book for children about what it takes to be a park ranger, and what one does and what they wear.
Goes into quite a lot of detail so not sure how well it will keep children's attention but it was a great read, and te illustrations were fab too.

I received an advance copy of, Park Rangers and What They Do, by Liesbet Slegers. This is an informative book for kids on what a Park Ranger does, wear, etc.

I liked the approach taken - following a park ranger throughout a single day to give an idea of what they do - but it was a little hard to follow. I think both the length and depth of this book are beyond the average toddler and preschool level. The question format somewhat helped, but worked best when the aim was to be interactive and not when used to drive the story. The illustrations were perfect for the target age range, and I liked the activity at the end. I also liked the glossary of terms, but again I thought this was beyond the intended audience / more appropriate for early elementary students.

This is a great children's book exploring the role of park rangers and what their everyday lives look like.

It does include some words that may be complex for small children, this is why I would recommend it for at least 5, if not 6+ and definately not for those with short attention spans.

One of my favourite elements of this book is the illustrations, they are bright and colourful while still relating to what is on the opposite page.

If I was to be really picky, the paragraph sizes were a bit big, which you typically don't see in a children's book, and I think spacing them out more could make this more appealing to readers.

All in all, this was a book that I thoroughly enjoyed and has a good ratio of fact to fiction. I would recommend it to any children under 10 looking to learn about park rangers.

My kids love to camp, and they just recently learned about what a park ranger is! I know they would enjoy this book and learn so much more from it. I loved the illustrations and all the bright and vibrant colors.

An educational, informative read about park rangers and we can see that's a lot of responsibilities!

Love the cute artstyle.

Thank you, author and the publisher, for the advance reading copy.

A pleasant, and quite involving, primer to the activities of a park ranger or forest warden. After examining their clothes and equipment, we follow them in the park for a whole day, from checking for fallen trees after a storm the night before, to reporting littering, checking butterfly populations, getting a meadow cropped with some guest sheep, and a whole lot more. I don't think the amount of words – a lot for this age range, let's leave it at that – at all matches the primitive/basic art style, so some youngsters may like one aspect or the other and not both, but this means well and shows that even Mother Nature herself needs a kind of human first responder at times.
