The (misnamed) boring wife puts on a good show in this one! I laughed out loud a few times. The protagonist's inner monologue is super entertaining. I definitely enjoyed this book and will be on the lookout for more in the series.

This book bored me, honestly. I found Diane to be incredibly annoying and childish and I could not connect to anyone in this story. It's the second in a series, but you don't need to have read the first to read this one. Maybe it fell flat because it was translated? I'm not sure, but it was not for me, and the narrator was too much.

Evidently this is part of a series Book 2 but no worries you can jump into this book without reading the first. This fun and light quick read will have the reader laughing at the antics of Diane. She continues to worry about her place in the world and her chances at love and romance as she reaches the age of 50. And yet, the world seems to be determined to offer her new moments and chances. A new job working at the local school leads to a reconnection with a handsome acquaintance. Her ex-husband Jacques seems to be realizing the error of his ways… or has he? And a chance meeting with an elderly woman provides a moment of reflecting on her own luck and luxury. Lavoie has worked her magic again, providing a realistic and humorous look at restarting life when it seems like the walls are crashing down around you. Her characters are flawed and funny, and the situations they face are realistic, everyday moments. She makes you laugh and think of your girlfriends.

This was a wonderful follow up to the authors first book Autopsy of a Boring Wife. It has charm, it has lots of humor and it also has a wonderful message of reinvention.

Diane has been left to create a new life for herself and as a women in her 50s she struggles with where she fits in. She wants love in her life and is looking for the romance that was so lacking in her marriage. With the help of her best friend and a lot of cocktails her adventures begin.

I really enjoyed hearing how Diane was doing after her divorce. I was happy to see her hilarious wit and charm were still full on. This is a fun series and I'm hoping there will be more!

Thanks @netgalley and @dreamscape_media for hooking me up with the audio. It was thoroughly entertaining!

This was a fun listen. Another new author to me and I haven't read the previous book in the series but I think this one stands pretty well on its own. This follows Diane as she tries to start over after divorce and losing her job as she turns 50. The narrator adds to the story in my opinion and there is plenty of humor here. I'll have to get my hands on the previous book.
