Did I drop everything to read this book? You bet I did!

Let me start by saying how much I adore A. S. Kelly's books, The author knows this already, I love showing off her books! I look forward to them, I scour NetGalley to find them, I spend all day reading them, I just love her writing so. darn. much!!

To begin this rant of a review, I have to let everyone know how amazing the banter and dialogues are in these books. I kid you not, and I've said this before, it genuinely feels like the characters are right there, speaking right beside you and you're just eavesdropping on all their little conversations. Kelly just has the absolute best writing voice, I swear, it's magic.

This is the first book I'm reading of this series, and this is the third book. Because of that little detail, I didn't connect tot he characters like I thought I would, but that's solely on me and my inability to read a series in order, even if I have the first two books!!! I have to go and read Niall and Tyler's story now because those two are my favourtie characters, hands down, I loved them. Niall is a banter god.

I recommend any books by A. S. Kelly, go read them, you'll love them.

Thank you to NetGalley and A. S. Kelly for the erac in return for an honest review.

CW: Large age gap

What I liked:
- Niall (Rian's brother) was a trip, most of the time an idiot but has his moments.
- The father-daughters interactions were so sweet!
- You know that kids say the darnedest things? Some of the most laugh-out-loud moments involve the kids and the words that come out of their mouths.
- When Rian and Parker finally decide to give in to their feelings, they're explosive.
- The secondary characters

Things that bothered me:
- I like when the author sets the scene and paints me a picture. Some of the scenes lacked that, for example they started with conversations between two characters, but I did not know who the characters were. It felt like I was watching a volley of conversations but not knowing who were talking to each other.
- The age gap was icky for me (she's 19, he's 41 - that's totally personal preference though, I usually avoid age-gap romances, they're not my thing), plus the fact that it was not his first relationship with a much, much younger woman: Parker was around 34 (if I calculated correctly) when he got together with his first wife who was just eighteen at the time.
- Every interaction between Rian and Parker felt like one step forward, two steps back. I wouldn't mind that actually, except that at the 50% mark of the book, they still haven't made much progress. I wanted to send them to therapy. For a good portion of the book, they're both described as being confused about their feelings. Although I understand, I wish they could have worked on themselves and made some progress about that.

I confess I skimmed through the last 40% of the book as there were more things that I didn't like vs things that I did like.

I went into this book blindly.

But heck yes, this one turned out to be quite fun and delivered more than what I expected.

The writing is quite fun I say. I just flew through the boon once I started it.

The endless sibling bickerings. The second hand embarrassment. The romance and the chemistry. Everything just clicked!

The whole family vibes made me laugh out loud on so many occasions throughout the read.

Rian is secretly in love with Parker who she feels is something not possible to happen in real. Parker is a single dad of two hyperactive young daughters. This is their story. And it's a freaking good good-feel one!

The characters are so much fun and the writing gets really hilarious at times. The humour is on spot.

Things do get difficult in between but then I love how the characters deak with them in a mature way. Something to look forward to if you're picking up the book. It makes the book more endearing.

The book made me so happy. There's warmth throughout the story. I love the characters so much! Not just the main characters, you will find it difficult not to love all the characters.

I feel the cover does justice to the contents. The vibe it gives matches exactly with the plot and the characters.

The best summer romcom I read this year!

Thank you, author and the publisher, for the advance reading copy.
