As an employee who went home to work during the pandemic, this book intrigued me as I watched the company I worked for grapple with the various different opinions on what the future should look like. I read this book after leaving that company and going to another one where I feel as though they are reacting to the "new normal" in a healthier way.

I appreciated Peter Cappelli's take on the current and future office. But I loved even more that he went back in time before the pandemic to talk about the work from home life before the pandemic hit and what companies were trying as they made concessions for employees to try different working models.

After finishing this book, I am interested in looking up more of Cappelli's work and reading more about the past, the present and the future of working.

Fabulous book, packed with examples, research and thoughtful considerations. 'The Future of the Office' links in to the future of work, COVID-19, and flexible working preferences that have been exacerbated due to COVID-19 lockdowns. I highly recommend this book! Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
