This book was SO. MUCH. FUN. Since reading Dream of Dragons, the first book in this series, I had to go read the Pure/Dark one series and did that within a span of about a week and a half because I just couldn't stop. Those books aren't necessary to enjoy this book but this book does mention some of the events from that series. After all, Ere and Sorin are still a part of this series (and forever more, please, because they are one of my favorite couples of all time in any paranormal series).

Ere and Sorin are tasked to take on a quest because Ere agreed to do these tasks in order to be resurrected and to be with his eternal mate. Throughout the story, the reader gets peeks into their love and every single time, I swoon. I love these two characters and their love- Sorin's protectiveness and adoration and Ere's absolute obsession with Sorin (replete with hilarious observations, as expected from Ere) made me smile. Honestly, almost everything about Ere makes me smile. I love him.

To complete this task, which is to find and bring back the Song of Destiny, they bring along the Quetzalcoatl dragon, Divina. At first, she seems flighty. However, throughout the story, you see her strength and absolute dedication to what is most important to her- love. (she is the fertility dragon, after all). She has so many humorous moments and as a character, I really enjoyed getting to know her and see her growth.

They meet the centaur Andros and they take on the quest together. The relationship between Andros and Divina is fantastic- sensual, as expected, but also with an emotional strength. He was such a strong and swoon-worthy character. (as were all the good Centaurs because, Centaurs...haha) Another fantastic couple in this world that Aja James has created.

Even more so, I found myself really fascinated with the Greek mythos introduced in this story, as well as really invested in how the quest is going to play out (a bit of a mystery to piece together- similarly to the first story). The description of the environment was detailed and well written. And, there is Chewie the dog. (I'm a total dog lover- read the book and you'll want to hug this dog too- I admit I googled what a Giant Chinese Tibetan Mastiff looks like). Once I started this story, I couldn't stop, similar to the other books by Aja James. I can't wait for the next installment! Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for an early copy.

So I was going to give this book 4 stars - it's entertaining and I enjoyed the story. I struggle a bit with the whimsical and childlike behaviors the women portray in the series. However tonight after I decided to treat myself to tacos from my favorite restaurant, I was very excited to take that few minutes while I waited for my food to finish this book. And then...I realized I had already finished it. And was profoundly disappointed there wasn't more to the story. So, it is getting bumped up to 5 stars. It's ok if you didn't read any of Aja James' other books - there is enough background story to catch you up without being overly repetitive. Ere/Sorin clearly have more left to their story as it is ever being entwined with others on their quests. The story line is enough to keep you engaged, the sex is hot enough to make it steamy and the frustration of the characters is real. I'll probably start reading it again just to pretend I can continue the story until the next book comes out.

I am a constant reader. So as soon as i complete a novel i move straight on to the next one. I have just finished this novel and was pleasantly pleased. If you like the element of mystical in your reads then this is definitely a good read for that as it incorporates dragons within the story line. Definitely a must read. I highly recommend it.

The previous book Dream of Dragons introduced this author to me. Since I enjoyed that book I was really looking forward to this one. And for the most part it didn’t disappoint.

I love these quests, Ere and Sorin, Chewie of course and I absolutely adored Andros.

My only problem was Divina.
So it took her a long time to win me over but she did. Until the whole…

“I like you,” she settled on replying. “I think we could make good friends.”

This section was just ridiculous. I understand her fears and her thinking but she’d just won me over and then lost me again. I was so annoyed with her I stopped reading for awhile. Where had the confident woman gone?

But despite my issues with Divina this was another good emotional and entertaining read. I loved the way the two stories built and then came together. I just couldn’t put my kindle down.
Now I’m just waiting for the next one Wish of Dragons. While I’m waiting I think I might have to check out the Pure/Dark Ones.

I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by NetGalley.

Where to start... first this is another amazing story by Aja, seriously I don't know where she comes up with these stories. Let's start with two of my favorites Ere and Sorin, I can't tell you how much I love them. Ere makes me laugh all the time with his smart mouth and Sorin is well you know :) It took me a little bit to warm up to Divina. I mean she has me at her love for animals but she is a lot of drama. I loved her by the end. She was fierce when fighting for those she loves. Noooowwww there is the stunning, amazing Andros. Wowziers !! He is a beautiful Stallion that has had a really really sad start to life but then three people come into his life and everything changes. He is alpha all the way and a great protector. Oh and I can't forget Chewie the cutest puppy of all times. I wanted him for myself! This story is surrounded by Greek mythology but even if you don't know much about that you will still love this story. I have said this many times before, Aja writing makes you feel like you are in the story. Thank you Aja for the ARC and continuing to write stories for us to fall in love with.

Chinese mythology, Ancient Greece, Centaurs, a Phoenix, dragons, and ?zombies?!
Its all packed in this quest-with-benefits. I laughed, I cried, I panted.

This is my first Aja James book. I did not read book one from this series. I had no problems following along without reading any other books. There are references to her other series and the previous book but it didn’t make me feel lost.
Pacing is quick, with periodic rest stops and times for erotic scenes.

It was hard to find critical feedback items. Here’s all I could come up with….which might be nitpicky.
-She’s hardly ever repetitive. Sometimes I wouldn’t mind less thesaurus use? Specifically with dialogue- “….” Davina replied. “——“ Eres countered. “….” Shifu portended. I’m making those up. But sometimes it’d be ok for it to just be “….” Davina said.
I noticed this most at the beginning and not past say 30% mark. So might be me getting used to author’s style.

-At 40% it seems like suddenly Ere doesn’t like Davina? I missed any previous clues this might be the case.

-I’d prefer Davina not have a hairless mons and think Andros shouldn’t be circumcised (it doesn’t make sense, he’s a horse in Ancient Greece. He just wouldn’t be circumcised). Not enough erotica includes men with foreskin in my opinion.

Great erotica/fantasy! I loved the humor. The characters were well drawn and likeable. Not over described. I look forward to reading more Aja James!

Let me just start off by saying that I never imagined that I would love centaurs as much as I did. Aja James has done it again. She has created an astounding unique story. This book felt different than her other books because the pacing seemed to be a little slower and the action was slower paced but still intriguing. Divina is great, she shows a different type of strength and is super funny. Andros is perfection haha 😍😍😍. I just absolutely love Ere and Sorin, they are the best. Read this book, you will enjoy it.

ARC provided for an honest review.

I have received this ARC from the author and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Song of Dragons is the second installment in the Dragon Tails series. In it, you will meet Ere, Sorin, Divina, and Andros. If you've read the previous book, you would already know who Ere and Sorin actually are. So it's safe to state that Divina is new to this group and I couldn't wait to dive into their Greek adventure!

From the very beginning, I just knew that I was going to be a fan of hers. I mean she's a freaking animal lover. Plus she has Chewie and I secretly want to steal him for myself. I can also see how she can easily rub someone the wrong way based on what happened for most of this book. It's the whole will she admit her feelings or just keep them trapped inside of her until the very last second kind of thing. I wouldn't necessarily say she's overdramatic but in some cases.. I did want to shake or slap her. Just to .. ya know.. snap her out of whatever funk she was currently in.

As for her love interest? Uh, excuse me - can I have? Or borrow? Because ohmydamn I absolutely loved Andros. Now he is someone that needs to be cherished every freaking day and night. These two just had that one of a kind chemistry. Yeah, it was rough in the beginning, and then hot during the right moments, but I had a feeling that things were going to work out in the end. Even after all the drama unfolded.

So much drama.

Other than that, so many things happened in this book. Ere and Sorin being unapologetically themselves. Ugh, love them so freaking much! Also seeing Hades and Cerberus definitely took me down the Hercules route. I may or may not have geeked a bit when they came into the story but then again - this was a Greek adventure! I just don't think it would have been the same without them being in the story - ya know?

In the end, I devoured this book when I was a beta reader and once again with the actual ARC. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my life while I'm waiting for the next book.. maybe knitting? Or rereading the books all over again? I'm up for anything!

Book 2 in the Dragon Tails Series from Aja James
I give it five stars because this is Aja James, and I love her books, her style, and her imagination.
This book, however, was not my favorite from her, but DO NOT let that deter you. I still waited with bated breath each week for my BETA chapters from AJ. It's still a stellar Aja James book; my feelings are purely just a taste thing. I'm not all that drawn into Greek Mythology. My sister goes nuts for it and I've already recommended this book to her. I prefer PNR more than fantasy, I guess. This book has both, but because the story unfolds in ancient Greece with Centaurs and other mythical creatures, it landed more in a Fantasy category for me.

Also, Divina is not my fave heroine. I love AJ's other heroines in differing degrees, tho, so this one just didn't ring my bell, I guess. But she is strong in her own way, and gets stronger throughout the book, which, for me, is the number one qualification for an FMC in a romance book. I don't have a problem with "Marilyn Monroe types", so that's not the problem. I dunno. Just didn't resonate with Divina. I loved Sophia, the Pure Queen, in Aja James' The Pure & Dark Ones Series, and a bunch of people took issue with her, so *shrugs*...

Andros, on the other hand, is one STUD of a hero.
He's a virgin, Centaur prince. But man, is he hot. His innate sexuality and commanding way is to freaking die for. Divina did earn him in the end, and that warmed me to her a lot. I'd read this book a hundred times over for the Andros sex scenes alone!

And that's another check on the never-ending list of Yeah Babys from Aja James. The sex is HOT. This book does not deviate from that tradition! And it has humor, lots of humor. There's a scene with a group of blushing virgin sacrifices and Divina that had me spitting a mouthful of water at my laptop! Hilarious.

Ere and Sorin, the m/m couple from the last book in The Pure & Dark Ones Series, Dark Purity, are again stewards of this quest and journey that they all must go on. They are... sighhhhh. Perfection. And that I get to read about them in this new series is a treat. For that alone, I recommend this book.

I'm on pins and needles, worrying about the foreboding words from the Seventh Sister and from Hades about Sorin.

Dive in, if you love PNR, Fantasy, and Greek Mythology, you'll love this book. Start with the first in this new series, Dream of Dragons. Or better yet, go back to the very beginning with the first book in The Pure/Dark Series by Aja James, Pure Healing. You won't regret it!!!

I was honored with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Ere and Sorin are sent on another quest “Find the horn. Storm the mountain. Retrieve the lyre. Gather the fleece. And bring back the song. Clear?”. This time their quest is to be fullfilled in ancient Greece, and they are accompanied by Divina (lover of all love) and Chewie her pet.

Divina is a woman who knows how to use all of her assets and skills, and leaves Ere and Sorin speechless on their first encounter.

When they arrive they set out to make friends to gather as much information as possible to resolve "Fufu's" obscure riddle once again. They find out that they are placed in a time just 3 days out of the "rite" where 12 young maidens will be sacrificed to the mighty centaurs in exchange for use of the horn of plenty.

On completing their quest, they are joined by new friends and love interests, one in particular being Andros.

Andros is innocence personified, and like catnip for Divina. But who can blame her, when he knows exactly what he wants and is not afraid to tell her? Example 1 “I want you. Right now. Right here. No one knows what tomorrow will bring. There is only today. I ask you again, Divina. Do you want me?”
Example 2 “Be brave when you claim me, my woman. I promise you I am worth it.”

Andros is a strong Alpha the Marilyn Monroe version: “A strong man doesn’t have to be dominant toward a woman. He doesn’t match his strength against a woman weak with love for him. He matches it against the world.”

On this quest I felt my heart break for Andros, was proud of Ere when he dispensed some much needed truth, got frustrated with Divina (several times), laughed out loud (A LOT, James provides hilarious visuals in her writing), was in suspense at multiple occassions, and at last got satisfied with a fitting end.

As always I loved James' storytelling, but a new addition that I thorougly enjoyed were the use of more current quotes. They were sometimes hilarious and other times truly profound. With the addition of centaurs and greek gods I truly wonder how James is going to further expound on this world, as it seems that each new book reveals/adds a new elememt to the world she has built and I have come to love.

I loved this one, folks. I mean, there is not ONE SINGLE book written by this author that I don't love. She just scratches ALL my itches. And so many of my fave things in romance are here. See also my shelves below:

bookshelves: favorite-series-of-all-time, favorites, anti-hero-you-love, dragons, fantasy-paranormal, ku, m-m, m-f, arc-from-author, celibate-hero, erotic-romance, lots-of-sex, sexy-alpha-male, shifter, virgin-alpha-hero, virgin-hero

So what does this book have?

1. Sexy alpha male (who's a VIRGIN!! but MAN can he dirty talk like GAH! all that innocence AND manliness. It's the BOMB!)

2. DRAGONS!

3. Ere and Sorin!!!

4. HOT, eyebrow-singeing, emotional, intense, deeply moving SEX. My FAVE kind of sex!!! Soooooo goooodddd...

5. Intrigue, fast-paced action

6. witty banter (go Ere! but seriously my fave scene might be Divina's little chat with the virginal maidens...)

7. ancient GREECE!!! LOVE Greek mythology!!

8. CHEWIE!!!!

9. ANDROS is soooooo yummy... OMG (yes I mentioned him before but DAYYYMMMM)

10. The HEA is to DIE for!!!

Gazillion stars!!!! 🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️😋😋😋🤤🤤🤤

There is just so long I can drag out a good thing.

ANDROS!!! MINE!!! (and I'm done with my review, enuf said :P)

Seriously...

I CLAIMED HIM!!!

Anywho...

I LOVE Andros!!!

And unlike some of my fellow Addicts/ Muses, I don't dislike our heroine Divina. I like her actually. I didn't used to like Old Hollywood bombshells who slept around and were over the top and seemed flaky and airheaded etc., but they grew on me. The quotes at the beginning of each chapter alone make me smile.

Andros and Divina together? FLAWLESS!

And of course we've got my FAVE COUPLE IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE ACROSS ALL ROMANCE GENRES: SORIN AND ERE. So what's not to love about this book?

I'll conclude by saying: if you want an adventure full of true-love-induced-hot-sex, wit, action and suspense, look no further!!

BEST SERIES EVER!
