This book had me quite excited, but I didn’t ever really connect or enjoy the characters, and it was too light and fluffy.

No Offense is the second rom-com in the Little Bridge Island series by Meg Cabot. I thought this story was cute, although I think I liked the first in the series better. I like the characters in this little island town and the story is just a fun, easy read.

Meg Cabot does not disappoint with this story. Molly and Jake are fun characters to follow through all of their adventures. The author describes the island of Little Bridge perfectly, what a wonderful community to place this story in.

This was cute. I think I was hoping for a little more. I'm not sure what I was looking for, but it's okay as this book moved along for me. I hadn't read the Little Bridge Island #1 book and I don't think it was necessary - but I see where people and personalities can lead to their own installment in the Little Bridge Island series.

Moving to a small town, Molly was looking for change after an engagement that didn't work out... the town kept her busy and a chance occurrence one day left her in an exchange with the town sheriff. If you are a fan of small town romances, this was fun and sweet!

Thank you to Netgalley and William Morrow and Custom House for the review copy.

Unfortunately, this one fell flat for me. I love Meg Cabot, but this one just didn't do it. A good rom com should make you smile and giggle and want the main characters to get together in some way. I just wasn't interested in this story.

*Thank you @williammorrowbooks for the copy in exchange for an honest review. Review not posted to Amazon/Goodreads because less than 4 stars or DNF.*

This was such a cute audiobook! I really enjoyed this one, slightly more than the first book in the series. This had depth to it and just a plot that was fun! The romance that took place was very cute. I wasn’t a huge fan of Tabby’s story line, but I appreciate how it wove into the overall narrative!

Ultimately this was my least favorite of the books in the Little Bridge Island series. I will say that part of that is likely because I was not a huge fan of the storyline of the female main character finding a baby in the restroom, and then wanting to find out what happened. I love a good mystery and that compelled me to keep going but I found it somewhat unbelievable, and struggled trying to let that go and just enjoy the read. I also found the male main character to be grumpy and gruff as we expected, but I didn't feel much to him beyond that, and I like grumpy/sunshine tropes when there are hints of the best parts of the grump under the surface. He just fell somewhat flat as a character.

Cute story that I enjoyed reading. I had not read the first book in the series but they seem to be able to be read as standalones so that worked out fine. I wasn’t captured thoroughly by the characters or plot but I was entertained so I can’t complain. I’d be willing to read more of Meg Cabot’s books but might rather try a different series.

Trying out Meg Cabot’s adult series with a librarian and cop romance?!? Not the book I was hoping for unfortunately. Lots of cringe worthy scenes and I didn’t feel the romance between the two.

While this is book 2 in the Little Bridge Island series, it can definitely be read as a standalone. I was a bit disappointed that Bree and Drew, from Book 1, didn't make more of an appearance.

This book centers on Molly, a children's librarian, and John, the sheriff. They see things from different sides which leads to banter but at times the chemistry between the two seemed a bit off and forced. Molly also came across as a bit annoying and self-righteous. As she progresses, she loses a bit of that self-righteousness and she becomes more likeable.

The mystery piece of the story added a bit more to the plot and kept me engaged though it was a bit anticlimactic. I enjoyed reading about the island and it made me miss the Keys.

Overall, it was an enjoyable, light-hearted read and was just what I needed after a rough week.

Unfortunately this one fell flat for me. While it was a quick read and reminded me on a Hallmark mystery movie I just couldn’t connect with the characters. The story was kind of jumbled and predictable. But it did have its funny moments.

I was intrigued by the plot of this story featuring a librarian working on solving a mystery with the sheriff she just met. I was disappointed however by the lack of character development and romance scenes without substance.

No Offense is the second book in a series set on Little Bridge Island, but each book can be read alone with the only commonality of each book being the setting itself. This one features Molly, the new local children's librarian, and John the Sheriff. The story is told from the alternating 3rd person POVs of John and Molly. The two are thrown together when Molly stumbles across a newborn left behind in a library bathroom stall and John comes in to investigate the situation.....which inevitably is linked to a current and past case of his.

I love books and libraries and my husband is in law enforcement so the premise of this book sounded cute. No Offense read like a Hallmark cozy mystery. You have a picturesque setting that others (including myself) would like to visit, a sweet cast of local resident characters, a budding romance with a low heat factor, and a bit of mystery thrown in for good measure.

I'd rate this one at 3 stars. Ultimately, I found this one to be fine but forgettable. Thanks to the Book Club Girl and NetGalley for the ARC in return for an honest review.

Very predictable and cheesy. This was tough to even finish. The characters were not very likable and I could not wait to be rid of it.

Thank you to William Morrow, through the Book Club Girls, and NetGalley for providing a copy of this book for review!

I've not read Meg Cabot before, but she's always been in my TBR, and I'd most likely seek her out again. This was a quick and light read and I liked the writing, and the setting of Key West drew me right to this novel. But I'm not going to lie, I found it hard to relate to Molly right off the bat. Maybe it's because I'm a mom of young kids who takes them to library programs, but if our librarians allowed teenagers to inappropriately crash their programs, I'd be stuffing *them* into a bathroom stall, forget about a baby. As this was the opening scene and our introduction to Molly, it was hard to warm up to her after that.

After the initial pages, I found myself not connecting with the story or characters, so I decided to pass on this book. Did not finish

In a way, it was typical chick lit. I dont think the sheriff and the librarian were right together. Also, I guess Molly is supposed to be quirky and caring, but she's really annoying. I dont think very much research went into what being a librarian is really like. Lots of things happened that would never go in real life.

4 1/2 stars

This was a fun book, a rom-com that will make you smile. The writing is deft, and things move along quickly. It’s definitely easy reading with a happy ever after..

John and Molly, a county sheriff and a children’s librarian, are delightful. He’s a single father of a high school daughter. She loves watching true crime TV shows. She also keeps stumbling across victims of The High School Thief and helping to rescue them. This makes sure that she and John are frequently thrown into each other’s company. Molly is determined. John, well, let’s just say that all law enforcement officers should be as conscientious and caring as Sheriff John.

In addition to John and Molly, the supporting characters are equally delightful. I especially liked Phyllis Robinette, the former head librarian, now retired and volunteering her services. She mentors everyone. It’s been her purpose to guide youngsters onto the right path, including a young John. He’d been on the wrong road, but Phyllis turned him around by finding just the right books for him.

There are no real surprises in this book, but if you enjoy rom-coms, fun characters, and misunderstandings, this might be the right book for you. It’s mostly light and entertaining. A sweet romance with an adult edge.

I received an e-copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley. I thank all involved for their generosity, but it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review reflect my true and honest reactions to reading this book.

Molly has just started her new job as the librarian at the Little Bridge Public Library when she finds a newborn baby in the restroom. She starts working with the local sheriff and there is an instant attraction between the two of them, but they can’t see eye to eye on anything!

This one isn’t marketed as one, but it gave me total cozy mystery vibes! A little bit of mystery, a little bit of romance, a tropical setting, and a library? What more could a girl want in a book? I enjoyed this installment of the Little Bridge series even more than the first! I especially loved the part about the Snapettes, and John’s relationship with his daughter. This was a sweet story and I can’t wait to see what happens next on Little Bridge Island!

Thanks to Avon Books and NetGalley for the gifted copy!
