For all of us who lived through the “plague year” this book reads like our participation trophy. Interesting, entertaining, and visually appealing. The year of 2020 was a whirlwind of a year, with plenty of highs and lows, joys and sorrows, and victories and defeats. This book captures all and ties it up in a pretty little ribbon.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Henry Holt & Company for providing me with the opportunity to read and review this book.

Love this book. Beautifully illustrated diary of unprecedented year. I absolutely would purchase for a
coffee table so all can enjoy.

I loved the ingenious idea (and re-using of the title!) of A Diary of the Plague Year by Elise Engler. The author illustrated the headlines of every single day in 2020, making it a fascinating book. The drawings are charming and colorful and it put me right back into the eventful, chaotic year that was 2020. My only complaint is that I wish there was a little more information about each day beyond just the big headlines of the day. Some of the stories are redundant because of that. I'd love to see one of these come out for each year! A really amazing project and undertaking.

Thank you Henry Holt & Company / Metropolitan Books and NetGalley for providing this ARC.
