This is a Christmas Amish Romance. I have to say the beginning of this story made me want to keep reading, but it was very slow moving. I have to say the storyline was so great, but the characters took me a little bit the fall in love with. There was a twist at the end to made me say wow. I did not know if I would love this book at first, but when I finish reading it I have to say it was one of my favorite Amish fiction book that I have read. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Entangled: Amara) or author (Mindy Steele) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

One of the things that I enjoy most about reading Amish fiction is that it can be a bit of an escape from the busy-ness of our every day lives. I enjoy reading about the simplicity of their lifestyle--- and I find that is something that I crave especially during the holidays when things are even busier than usual! I was excited to check out Christmas Grace, and am happy to say that it did not disappoint.

This was a story filled with second chances, God's grace, romance, and of course a good dose of holiday spirit too. I really enjoyed Grace and Cullen's characters and watching their romance grow, and thought the author did a great job of creating these characters and drawing the reader in. I loved the sense of community, and really just found it to be an overall enjoyable read. If you enjoy Amish fiction, this will be a great one to read this holiday season... or if you're anything like me, anytime throughout the year too!

**I received a complimentary copy for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

A lovely Christmas story. Grace is turned out from her family for being pregnant and unmarried. She finds community and friends in her new community. Cullen has been perpetually single but thinks it’s time he found a wife. Grace and Cullen develop a friendship and a courtship that is built on faith and trust. They rely and lean on each other and develop a strong love and family together.

Christmas Grace is the first book that I have read by Mindy Steele. The two things that drew me to this book were its Christmas theme and the fact that it is about Amish people. I also loved the cover, but that was minor compared to the other two! I would read more by this author.

Only Grace would be foolish enough to go against everything she had ever known to be right here.

Grace is put under the ban, does her time, confesses in front of her church, and her family still exiles her to an abandoned shack near her Aenti Tess in Kentucky. Grace does her best to follow the rules and make the most of her situation. She is lonely but shows strength and determination for the hand that she has been dealt. Grace is determined not to make a mistake and does not know how to take this new community's kindness toward her. She is certain that they are judging her and their kindness is an act.

Rules. The always-present rules.

Cullen Graber is Grace's nearest neighbor. He has no plans to get involved with his new neighbor. However, once he realizes that Grace is living in the shack he knows he must help her. While she refuses his assistance at first, he continues to offer kindness and friendship, dropping off eggs and leaving wood when she is not around.

The condition of the shack-sinner's shack, she settled on calling it-was in dire need of attention.

I loved the unique story line. There are not many stories that show an Amish woman falling for an Englisher, getting pregnant, and then being left alone. I appreciated the contrast from the Amish in Grace's community in Indiana, with their hard, rigid ways, to the Amish community in Kentucky, who practice their faith, showing love and forgiveness.

I am a reader who prefers more dialogue to descriptions. This book started with a lot of descriptions/thoughts with very little dialogue which made for a very slow start (for me). I found several places in the story that dragged for the same reason.

However, overall I really enjoyed this story. I enjoyed the message, the thread of love, friendship, forgiveness, and the revealing of secrets. I also enjoyed the unexpected surprises that came up in this story, and there were several. Some scenes will evoke strong reactions, and others that are simply tender and sweet.

If you enjoy Amish stories, love stories, and/or even Christmas stories I would recommend giving this unique story a try. I think fans of Shelley Shepard Gray, Rachel J. Good, Wanda Brunstetter, and Linda Byler would also enjoy this author.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book. I was not required to provide a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Taking place at Christmas time, this is a lovely book covering relocation from family, familiar surroundings, losses, broken hearts, second chances, love and new life that are all aspects of life for Grace Miller and Cullen Graber.

Learning to open their hearts to God’s grace, they find so many possible changes in their lives, but are hesitant to pursue. This is a must read to see if they are able to change their ideas and lives.

I loved this book and highly recommend it to readers who enjoy the Amish romance genre. It was a very quick read that I did not want to put down until I finished the book.

I really, really liked this book. I feel like Grace was so relatable and why not many face her situations I feel that as Christians we all at one point have wondered if we deserve the forgiveness God gives us. Grace while faced with a tough situation she took things in stride and you seem to "watch" her grow as the story went on. Cullen oh man I liked him to his heart was always in the right place to help those who needed help. He truly loved deeply and with the losses he faced he seem to not have a wall around his heart and he was open to what God gave him. This book is a clean read and I really felt like I was catching up with friends why reading it. I love Tess and you will need to read the book to find out why, because I would just give to much away about her. Overall I could not put this book down and this was a quick read and a really good book to me.

"Christmas Grace" by Mindy Steele
A Captivating Story
For those of faith, a story of God's timing of forgiveness and the opening of hearts for second chances, and the healing of old wounds, too. Walnut Ridge, KY what a great community to claim as home. Yes, I loved this story and the time I spent with Grace and with Cullen. I found it very hard to put this story down, even to tend to necessities. This is a worthy read. Happy Reading ! !

The author gives us a story that pulls you in and doesn’t let go, right to the end there are surprises! I loved most of the people in this Amish Community, they embraced this broken girl, no friends and banished by her father far from home, Grace Miller is living in the Sinner Shack.
We also meet a kind Amish man, and get to know him, many set their cap for him, but we learn why he is not married. Cullen see a broken woman, and tries to see to her needs, even if she feels unworthy of anyone helping her.
This is a read that highlights forgiveness and grace, and living ones faith, from beginning to end the pages flew on this great read!

This was a heartfelt, heartwarming story of mistakes, forgiveness and love. Humans are flawed and we all need to love and accept each other as we are and this story does that in a succinct way.

I absolutely loved this book! Sweet Grace is sent away from her family and life to her aunt’s Amish community while she awaits the birth of her child. As an unwed mother and one who was involved with an “Englisher” she brought disgrace upon herself and her Amish family. Even though she repents and has broken ties with the baby’s father she carries a load of guilt. As her new community of friends surround her and take care of her needs Grace still fights the guilt she carries. The faithful and forgiving friends add much to this lovely story. The are some intense moments throughout the book And I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys some clean reading. I freely reviewed this title for NetGalley.

Christmas Grace is a lovely Amish story of grace and forgiveness and the struggles faced with both. Grace is Amish, single and pregnant. She has been shunned and confessed her sin. Her father is still upset and sends her to the community where her aunt lives until she has had the baby. Will she find more forgiveness in a new community? Will she ever return home?
I really enjoyed this story. It is well written and at times a tear jerker for the way Grace and others are treated. It is not your typical sweet Amish romance story as it deals with anger and abuse in some parts. The characters struggle to learn how to forgive others and also themselves for their shortcomings. Trust is also an issue for some if the characters. The story goes into depth with the characters so I felt I knew them well.
I received an advance copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Christmas Grace by Mindy Steele is a wonderful addition to anyone’s Amish Library. It is a must-have addition to your Christmas library.

Grace Miller has sinned, been shunned by her community, allowed to return to the church, and punish by her father by being sent to a small community of Amish in Walnut Ridge, Kentucky, to live in isolation until her baby is born. It is Grace’s hope to return to her community after the birth and be accepted by her community and most of all, by her family.

As the story progresses, Grace is shown acceptance by new friends, and her aunt, in this small Amish community. She is especially helped by a kind neighbor, Cullen Graber, who is the the town’s blacksmith. Cullen understands loss and loneliness. He is determined to care for Grace even when Grace doesn’t understand why.

Travel through this story and discover forgiveness and second chances as Grace and Cullen’s story unfolds.

Mindy has again given us a 5-star book to ponder and enjoy.

I seriously couldn’t put this down! When our mistakes weigh us down we need the love and comfort of our family. When Grace was sent away instead it was beautiful to see her be accepted and uplifted by a new Community. Loved the interactions between her and Cullen. By far my favorite Amish book to date.

Uniquely different! This well written Amish Fiction drew me in to the point that I forgot it was fiction. This was a Christmassy read that was filled with the Spirit of the season. Until reading this book I didn't realize there were Amish communities in Kentucky. I liked the characters that made this story come to life. I loved the unpredictable suspense early in the book that had me on the edge of my seat. I thought the book was definitely entertaining, easy to read, inspirational and romantic. I enjoyed this book so much that I hated to see the end coming.
Grace Miller made the mistake of dating an Englischer after her kneeling vow. Jared Castle made Grace believe that he loved her and that he was willing to become Amish. When he found out she was pregnant Jared left town leaving Grace to face her family and her pregnancy on her own. Even through she confessed her sins before the church and had received forgiveness, her Father Ben Miller banned Grace from her home and sent her to Kentucky to hide away in a run down cabin in the mountains. How could a Father be so unforgiving to his daughter?
Aenti Tess Miller lived in Walnut Creek Kentucky. She was unmarried and lived by herself. She seemed to be bitter and cold to Grace and after she arrived in Kentucky Aenti Tess didn't go out of her way to make her niece feel welcome. There seemed to be a cloud of secrets that surrounded Aenti Tess and few people in the community knew what was in the older woman's past.
Cullen Graber was Graces closest neighbor. He was a blacksmith for the community and kept busy with his work. He was very handsome but he was a loner. He started doing little things to help Grace. He couldn't believe the baby's father had abandoned Grace in her time of need. The fact that her father banned Grace from her home and family and sent her to live in a old run down cabin appalled Cullen . What kind of Father does that to his daughter when she needed forgiveness and love more now than she ever had before? Such a pretty Amish maedel that made a mistake in her life banished from her family, unforgivable and left to live on her own in the sinners cabin.
I recommend this book to readers of Amish Fiction and for those who like to read Christmas novels. This book can be read as a stand alone.

I requested to read and review this book for free from Entangled Publishing. This book is about heartbreak, trust and forgiveness and romance. Do secrets have a way of holding us back, tearing families apart? Secrets can keep a person from being their best self and to know what is right. Can you ever be truly forgiven for a wrong? Can we forgive ourselves? Some mistakes can lead to a beautiful thing. Grace has the perfect name for what she is going through. Cullen has had to face a lot in his young life but can things change. Listening to friends can be the most powerful tool you can have. This book can be read anywhere! Anytime of the year and by anyone!

🎄🎄🎄 5 Stars
I have read and enjoyed many stories about the Amish.
So a Christmas story that includes Grace and her sisters Hope, and Charity has got to be great… Right?

Grace Miller found herself in a romance with Jared Castle only to be left broken-hearted and pregnant.
What is even worst is Jared was an outsider something that will break her mutter’s heart and her Daed, Ben Miller will disown her. (BTW: Love that Ms. Steele includes a glossary of Amish terms for us. True they are rather easy to figure out but nice to have the assurance that you can look up and double check.)
Grace is sent to Walnut Creek, Kentucky where she’s knows no one. She is friended by Cullen Graber a neighbor and someone who feels he needs to protect her.
I was soon cheering for Grace and Cullen romance and hoping for an ending stating “They live happily ever after.
Read on and find out how difficult that might be to achieve.
