A Lot Like Christmas is the second book in Jennifer Snow’s Blue Moon Bay series, and though enjoyable, I didn’t love it quite as much as I did the first book. These are definitely steamy romances, though also sweet stories The setting is charming and the cake creations described, are spectacular.

This Christmas romance follows Jessica, the local pastry chef extraordinaire, who owns a bakery in Blue Moon Bay. She has been labeled as a good luck charm, to other lucky ladies, just not herself. Whenever a man dates her, he supposedly finds his true love next. She is living the adage, “Always the bridesmaid, never the bride”. And then she meets Dr. Mitch Jameson, returning from Cambodia where he was stationed with Doctors Without Borders, now back in his hometown for a much-needed reprieve before returning. He and Jessica immediately hit it off, alarmingly fast since he didn’t seem very interested in a commitment or relationship of any kind on his flight home. Despite their insta-love beginning, the two seem to make it work, at least until it’s time for him to return to the field.

This is a cute story, with a super satisfying epilogue, it just didn’t capture my attention as much as the first story in the series did. I also didn’t love the characters quite as much and their romance felt rushed.. That happens sometimes in series. Others who enjoy spicier, but still sweet stories, and don’t mind a whirlwind romance, will definitely enjoy this story.

I really enjoyed this book - it has the small town charm; romance with some conflict; some humor that had me laughing out loud and likable (mostly) characters. Jess owns her own bakery and she is successful - but she is tired of being everyone’s second choice when it comes to picking a wife. She’s almost 30 years old and there are no prospects in sight. Mitch is one of Jess’ best friend’s brother. He’s a medical doctor but he spends nearly 100% of his time in underdeveloped countries practicing medicine. He lives for charity work. He is home for 3 weeks snd & Jess is vulnerable after her 3rd ex boyfriend has just gotten married (this year alone). When these two hook up, will they find true love or are they just biding time?

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases.

Jess was a little too over the top husband hunting for me to totally love her as a character. I really liked her and Mitch together and one she relaxed into the relationship she became much more relatable. The fun holiday activities kept me engaged. Perfect for anyone looking for a Christmas escape.

What a fun and engaging holiday story! I was instantly captivated by Jessica. She’s very sweet but she’s got a bit of spice in her, as evidenced in that wedding scene! That had me laughing out loud.
She’s just looking for a bit of the magic that her friends have found with their partners, but small town living can be hard for a single gal…especially with her ridiculous reputation.
So when Mitch comes to town, who can fault her for looking for a little fun and maybe long term romance. But Mitch isn’t one for relationships, and his feet and heart have the travel bug as a member of Doctors Without Borders.
I loved everything about this book…the MCs, the plot, the setting…it was the perfect book to jump start my holiday reading. Although this is book two in the series, I certainly wasn’t missing out by not having read the first book. I’m hoping there will be more Blue Moon Bay on the horizon very soon.

A perfectly fun read for the holiday season…or any season. Jessica loves her town, her friends and her bakery. What she longs for is her own happily ever after and not to be the town joke. Every man she has ever dated leaves her and marries the very next woman. Jessica is fabulous and deserves much better. She is being hounded by a creepy businessman to sell her business to him while being attacked on all sides by her friends and neighbors not to “sell out” and ruin her community. No pressure at all! Enter her BFFs brother. He is only staying for a moment and then is gone again. Will they or won’t they? Will her heart be filled or deflated? It is a lovely read that will melt even the coldest of hearts! I want to live there!! Good cake, good people and the great outdoors.

I’ve really enjoyed the Blue Moon Bay novels. Wes & Sarah’s story was great, but I may have liked this one about Mitch & Jess a little bit better. It might be because it was Christmas themed, which are my favorites, but also the characters were fun to get to know. Highly recommend reading this story to see how Jess & Mitch’s story develops.

Jennifer Snow is a new author for me and this is the first book I've read and it will not be my last. Is it time for the holiday season already because this is getting me excited for it. Mitch and Jessica's story was quite a sweet, fun, and charming holiday romance. I really enjoyed how the story was written and I loved the characters and storyline.

I thought this book was delightful! A wonderful blend of heartwarming and steam flows through this book and I found it too enticing to resist. The book is well written and the story fun. I liked both of the main characters and I loved them as a couple. Their chemistry sparked, their attraction was intense and there was just something really sweet about them. There are plenty of emotions and feels as the relationship between these two evolves along with some humor, drama and tension. This is the type of read that wants to tug at your heartstrings, hit you with the swoon and leave you feeling good and believing in love and in my opinion it succeeds epically.

Find a comfy chair, prepare a great big mug of cocoa and put on your chunkiest sweater and get ready to fall in love with Jennifer Snow’s enchanting Yuletide romance, A Lot Like Christmas.

Jessica Connolly loves her life in Blue Moon Bay. She has a successful bakery business, has a loving and supportive family and a great circle of friends. Her life is as close to perfect as it is possible to get – it’s just a shame that she is so unlucky in love. While Jessica seems to be a good luck charm for her ex-boyfriends to find the one – usually the very moment they break up with her! – Prince Charming doesn’t seem to able to find her in Blue Moon Bay. Having hardened her heart and written off men for good, Jessica has resigned herself to remaining single, but could a Christmas miracle at long last bring her the man she has been waiting for?

Dr Mitch Jameson is kind of man who leaves for his next assignment with Doctors Without Borders at the drop of a hat. He isn’t a settling down kind of guy and has grown used to living out of a suitcase and to never staying in one place for long. Finding himself in his hometown of Blue Moon Bay for the holidays is as far removed from his idea of heaven as it is possible to get, but when he meets Jessica Connolly, he quickly realizes that there are some benefits to sticking around town for the holidays.

As the two start dating, they begin to get closer and closer, but with the 25 days of Christmas about to run out, will Jessica and Mitch’s romance come to an end on December 31st? Or will love find a way to keep them together for the rest of their lives?

Jennifer Snow’s A Lot Like Christmas is a delightful romantic tale full of humor, wit, warmth and plenty of magic to keep readers hooked from start to finish. An enjoyable, heartwarming, witty and captivating romance about the magic of the holidays, delicious cakes, falling in love and taking a leap of faith and a chance on romance, A Lot Like Christmas is a stellar contemporary romance that is simply adorable – don’t miss it!

This book is the second in Jennifer Snow's Blue Moon Bay romantic series, and works well as a stand-alone book, too. For Jessica, a baker and bakery owner, and Dr. Mitch Jameson, who works with Doctors Without Borders, the holiday seasons offers lots of opportunities for new beginnings in love. Readers will love the cozy small town setting and the magic of a Christmas season love story.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this.

This is a very sweet story. This story follows the life of Jessica Connelly, a baker (and struggling to find love with 'the one' after a series of breakups with ex-boyfriends who themselves find 'the one' after her), and Mitch Jameson, a doctor (who gives up his practice for a life of adventure and works with Doctors without Borders (basically a man who would not settle down).

As noted earlier, this is a sweet story where Mitch is visiting home (very briefly) for the holidays begins to question his life of adventure, and Jessica who is very ingrained in her community begins to question a life of adventure.

I definitely enjoyed this and look forward to more in the series!

Welcome to Blue Moon Bay, the home of Jessica Connolly and her fabulous bakery. She designs the most beautiful cakes but is getting a little tired of baking for her ex-boyfriends’ weddings. Rumour is that her exes find their true love after dating Jessica. She is ready to throw down the towel on her happily ever after but may have one last chance when Dr. Mitch Jameson comes to town for a few weeks before Christmas. Can Jessica capture his heart before he leaves town or will he be another ex that she must bake a wedding cake for?

Jennifer Snow captures the town of Blue Moon Bay and its residents so beautifully. The character of Jessica stole my heart from the very first page with her sweet and lovable personality. I adored the way that Jessica and Mitch connected and how they had to sneak around a small town who loves to gossip. The story was sweet, fun and I loved the countdown to Christmas during the story. I am excited for the next book in the Blue Moon Bay Series. Thank you to Entangled Publishing for my advanced readers copy that I voluntarily read and reviewed.

Another swexy hit with just enough passion and steam to satisfy
Jessica Connolly, 29yo sits at another wedding, alone, at the singles table while she watches her once-upon-a-time-boyfriend marry another woman. Bad enough. Right? But what if this had happened to her three times within a year?! Jessica is just about to call it quits when she discovers a terrible rumor. Jess runs the best bakery in town, Delicious Delicacies. She’s content with her life and has accepted her 5’4” and 170lb body. She’s got curves and not afraid to show them.
Enter Mitch Jameson, 39yo, who calls Blue Moon Bay home only because his parents still live there. His life is spent on-call in foreign lands with Doctors without Borders. This year he gets Christmas with his family for three weeks which he’s not looking forward to until he re-meets Jess at her bakery. Lia is Mitch’s sister and Jessica’s childhood friend. Big problem: he doesn’t do long-term anything…jobs or relationships.
There are too many wonderful moments to recount. Great ending. Just enough steam to satisfy about any reader. LOVED this book as much as the last one about Sarah, Wes and his daughter Marissa with whom we get an update in this book. If you like sweet and sexy romance with a bit of age gap, read this book. You’ll love it too. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Entangled/NetGalley.

Jessica Connolly is home body. She loves where she lives and she loves to bake. Now she is swearing off men. It seems she has a knack for picking the ones not right for her. Dr. Mitch Jameson is home for the holidays. He is normally traveling with Doctors Without Borders. He dreads this holiday season till he accidentally meets Jessica. To keep their families a bay, they fake date for the holiday season. Little did they know that when there is no pressure to date, they actually enjoy each other. Now that the holiday is over, what will they decide to do? I enjoyed the ending.

This is a Christmas Romance, and this is the second book in the Blue Moon Bay series. I love the character, Jessica in this book. She is just so make fun and craziness. I really felt this is a great book with great characters. The storyline was great too. Both the main characters are draw to each other very quickly, but one loves the small town she lives in and the other loves not being tied to anywhere. I love seeing the characters figuring out they really love each other. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Entangled: Amara) or author (Jennifer Snow) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Christmas is my favourite time of the year and I love everything about this magical season add in the fact small town romances are a genre I love and this book was always going to be on my radar and honestly Jessica and Mitch’s journey was a wonderful, heartwarming, entertaining read that I highly recommend to all romance lovers. This is the second book in the Blue Moon Bay Series but this can certainly be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone, I know this because I haven’t read the first book yet.
Mitch works for Doctor’s without Borders and that means his focus is on his work, he has no room for a relationship until he meets the baker who spends her time making wedding cakes for her ex-boyfriend’s. Jessica sees herself as a good luck charm for men to find their HEA so could she have finally found hers with Mitch. Has the magical season worked it’s magic on this couple or will careers and distance be to much to overcome…..
A wonderful, magical read with characters you will fall in love with, this book has the perfect mix of love, passion, humour and drama and it’s a captivating read. So if you love Christmas please one click this gem of a read.

A Lot Like Christmas by Jennifer Snow is a funny story that has its sad moments. My heart went out to Jessica Connolly as she bakes her ex’s wedding cake. She is sweet and kind but she is also tough to be able to do this. Not sure that I could even if my bakery needed the business. I certainly felt that the brides did not need to enjoy her misfortune so much. That was taunting. However, it was also realistic. I could see that happening.

For Jessica and Mitch I enjoyed the push and pull between them. I loved the attraction between, the whys it can’t work and the want to anyway. What a lovely story that happens at Christmas. Jessica deserved something special, I kept reading to make sure that Mitch could deliver that.

This is part of the Blue Moon Bay series but A Lot Like Christmas could be read on it own and at anytime of the year. A feel good story where you want the good woman to win whether that is single woman or as a couple with that special someone.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
