A sweet small town holiday romance. Jess has become known around town as the good luck charm. It is not a name she relishes. Mitch is a doctor with wanderlust. Two characters who seem to want totally opposite things in life find that they have a lot in common and enjoy each other’s company. Of course in a small town there is always interference which makes it interesting.

I loved this book! It is the perfect Christmas romance! I look forward to reading this again curled up in front of my (electric) fireplace with a hot cup of coffee to help me get ready for Christmas!

Jennifer Snow is a new-to-me author, but this won’t be the only time I read one of her books. I love Christmas-themed books year-round. But this time of year, I love them even more as the holiday approaches.

I think the thing that impressed me the most about this book was the author’s ability to write the pace in such a way that didn’t make the story feel like it was dragging. I don’t know why, but it seems like a lot of the Christmas-themed, Hallmark-y feeling books I read tend to feel sluggish. However, this one did not. Maybe it’s because the characters can feel the clock ticking down on their time together. My husband and I dated long distance for many years and dealt with many military deployments and TDYs (temporary duty…think business trips) after we married, so I know this feeling all too well.

Now, let’s talk characters for a moment. Mitch is a man with a heart for helping people in the most desolate of places. He’s the complete package: looks, brains, and compassion. And Jess is a woman with a heart for helping people too. Only closer to home. So how can they make a relationship work? One word: compromise. Getting to compromise is what makes this story so poignant. We’re all selfish to a point, and compromise isn’t easy to come by. Getting there takes growth both separately and alone. And these two characters grew beautifully. If you love holiday romance, especially those with a Hallmark holiday movie feel, A Lot Like Christmas is one you will not want to miss.

A Lot Like Christmas follows Jessica Connelly, a baker, and Mitch Jameson, a doctor who's been working with Doctors Without Borders. Jessica is looking for her Happily Ever After, Mitch isn't ready to give up traveling the world. Can they make it work, or is this just a holiday fling?

A very cute story. Quick read well written. I couldn't put it down, I had to know if she was going to leave or if he was going to stay.

*Thank you to the publisher for this eARC.

A Lot Like Christmas is one of my favorite books from Jennifer Snow yet!

Jessica loves living and running her bakery in Blue Moon Bay. What she doesn't love is designing wedding cakes for her ex-boyfriends after they find 'the one' after they break up with her. Mitch works for Doctors Without Borders and is only back in town for the holidays. He plans on leaving again as soon as he can, but then he and Jessica start spending time together.

It was fun seeing all the activities they do leading up to Christmas, and how they fell for each other at the same time. They have great chemistry and are sweet but with plenty of heat. There's also nice character development as their relationship changes too.

If you are looking for an entertaining romance with great characters and holiday fun, I definitely recommend this book! It is the second in the series, but can be read as a standalone.

Jessica Connolly knew that many of her former boy friends had married the next woman that they dated. What Jessica didn't realize is that she is known as a good luck charm for her former boyfriends to find a wife. With an offer to buy her bakery, Jessica might be tempted to leave town to find love. Dr. Mitch Jameson has returned to his hometown for Christmas after a horrific experience. Mitch is only in town for a few weeks before he returns. Neither one plans on dating, but being with Jessica lifts Mitch's spirits. I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This is basically a sweet romance but I would have preferred less steamy scenes. That is the only reason that this is a four star rather than a five star book for me. Jessica and Mitch are both interesting and likable characters. I love how their relationship develops and that they both have major decisions to make. This is a good book and I look forward to reading more in this series.

Jessica Connolly, owns a bakery, and she has dated a few men, and the day came that the rumor got started, that if you date Jessica, after you break up, the next woman you date will be the one you fall in love with and marry. When she hears the rumor, she is going to swear off men. Her friend, Lia, whose older brother, Mitch, is a doctor that works for Doctors without borders, comes to town for the Christmas holiday.
Mitch has no plans whatsoever of dating, he likes going to the different countries, that so desperately needs doctors. Spark flies between those two, and they do start hanging out, with the whirlwind of the Christmas season, they might convince themselves, they are just friends.
The book will keep you reading, because the author keeps your attention, keeps you wondering if they will end up together, they are totally different people, and live totally different lives. Jessica likes the small town she lives in, and likes having roots. Mitch isn't into small towns, he prefers being on the move, from country to country helping those that so desperately need doctors. Is there a way, for these two, to come to a compromise? The author will keep you hoping, but won't give anything away until she is ready to tell you.
I received an ARC from Entangled Publishing through NetGalley.

Lia and Jess had been friends since elementary school. Jess knew Lia had an older brother Mitch, but being 10 years older, they didnt interact a lot. Flash ahead many years to Christmas time.

Jess runs the bakery in her small town when a handsome man stood in. They immediately connect and then she realizes Mitch is home for the holidays from a stint with Doctors Without Borders.

Can this immediate connection continue after he keaves? How will his family and their friends feel about their age difference? Can love really develop in 3 weeks?

You'll want to read this delightful, sweet, small town holiday romance to find out.

I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinions.

4 - "You're the most unexpected gift this holiday season..." Stars!

We return to Blue Moon Bay for book two in the series, giving us town baker; Jessica Connolly's story, and even better it's set in the month of December!

This is my first seasonal read of 2021, and Jennifer Snow set me off in great style. I liked Jess in the previous book so was intersted to read her story, and seeing the 'always the bridesmaid, never the bride' finally meet and fall or the man who ticks all of her boxes was a really enjoyable read.

She barely knew him. Yet, something about being with him felt eerily right. Natural.

Mitch was another big tick for me (and Jess) as well, and the Om/Yw trope was played out well, because his life experience and maturity was exactly what Jess needed in a partner. And what starts out as a temporary bit of seasonal fun for them both, soon starts to morph into something completely different, and both of them start to question whether temporary should actually be more permanent. But one has wanderlust and the other is a homebody, how do you mix those two traits successfully in the long term...

This was far more than just physical... Their connection went so much deeper.

I enjoyed this book much more than it's predecessor, the connection between the characters was electric, the drama low key and relevant, and it was all wrapped up in a giant Christmassy bow, what's not to love!

Although Jessica is content with her life in Blue Moon Bay she is beginning to wonder if she will have to leave to achieve what she really wants which is a man to love and family of her own. She has earned a reputation around town as every man she breaks up with ends up married to the next woman he dates, while she is regulated to baking the wedding cake, but will Mitch be the man to break that curse?

Mitch has been working with Doctors Without Borders and is back in his hometown for three weeks before he heads out again. His time with Jessica was supposed to be a fun interlude but is beginning to feel like so much more but will he be willing to give up his dream of helping people who need it the most for the life he could have with Jessica?

Sweet and sexy Jessica and Mitch were perfect for each as they learn that when it comes to life love is what is truly matters.

A Lot Like Christmas by Jennifer Snow is a delightfully sweet holiday romance that sweeps you away with the magic of the holiday season. A fast-paced read that pulls you in from the beginning and leaves you wanting more.

I really enjoyed this book. I really liked Jessica and Mitch. I also loved the compromises they made to make the relationship work. I hate it when one person has to give up everything for the other person. A great holiday read. Sweet, funny, sexy. Definitely put this on your holiday TBR.

I admit that I was a little hesitant in starting this book since I the previous book wasn't as enjoyable for me as I thought it would be. But like I mentioned in that review, I loved the overall feel of the story and wanted to read more stories from this author. This time around, the story did not disappoint.

Mitch and Jessica's story had all the elements I look for in a romance--a great on-the-page connection, a little steam, a wide range of emotions and a dash of humor. I loved Mitch. I liked that he was always honest and didn't give Jessica mixed signals about his intentions. He complemented Jessica's personality and although slow to acknowledge the depth of his feelings, he never shied away from them.

Jessica was also a great character to get to know. I knew a little bit about her from the previous book, but the author did a great job in allowing the reader to truly get to know her inner struggles, dreams and desires. She was conflicted, excited and at times overwhelmed by what was developing between her and Mitch and the author did a great job of bringing that to the page without it feeling repetitive and/or unbearable for the reader.

I appreciated the author's efforts in bringing Mitch and Jessica's connection to the page and maintaining the slow burn of their romance even though their attraction to each other was undeniable. Their steamy scenes highlighted the chemistry they shared without it being the basis for their relationship. I loved that!

Once again, I enjoyed the small-town feel of the story and the presence of Jessica's girlfriends, Sarah and Whitney. Having them written into the story not only added to it but set the stage for what may be coming up in the next installment in the series. And although this is the second book in the Blue Moon Bay series, it can be read as a stand alone.

All in all, a heartwarming, sweet romance and a great holiday read for this season.

3.5 rounded to 4

In this second of a series, our heroine is Jess who, apart from being the best baker in Blue Moon Bay, is known as the Good Luck Charm because after dating her, men seem to find the women they end up marrying. Great for other women, but not so hot for Jess.

This changes when she meets the aloof Mitch, a Doctors Without Borders volunteer who is back into town for a few weeks to spend Christmas with his family..

This is a romance, so we expect to see sparks, and we do very quickly. Maybe too quickly? The speed of the falling in love while not quite insta-love was so quick that the story felt a tad perfunctory, though Snow fills in expertly with small town warmth and all the fixings for a heart-happy Yuletide tale.

I found it a pleasant read, though it was easy to put down; the relationship followed the dots so closely that I never was glued to the pages. However, especially for a relaxing read, Jennifer Snow accomplishes the job with assurance.

Here I am reading my first Christmas story of the season. Those who follow me all the time know how much I love holiday stories. On September 1st. my fall decor went up and I'm loving how the house looks. The funny part is you'd think I'd be reading books sent in fall but nope, it's Christmas for me. It might be a little easy yet but that's the life of a reviewer.

So far I've really been enjoying Blue Moon Bay. This is only the second book in the series but the characters are so great that you want to know more about them. That always draws me to a series and keeps me reading.

You'll love Jessica. In the early part of the book what she does with a cake will crack you up. I cheered her on. I'd tell you more but you need to experience it for yourself. You'll feel a little bad for her here she is the charm for others to get married but can't find someone for herself.

I got why that was becoming a problem in her hometown. She loves where she lives but also feels that she won't find true happiness there. I understood her motives for wanting to maybe leave.

Now Mitch was a little harder nut to crack. He was so focused on his good work in other countries that he forgot that people at home might need him too. He spent a long time with Doctors without Borders and shouldn't have felt guilty for thinking about not going back. It is okay to let others take up where he left off.

I really liked the relationship between these two. Mitch enjoyed doing things with Jessica even if it was watching her bowl. She made him feel part of a community something that he hasn't felt in a while. These two work together and you'll really enjoy their story. I like that it took them a bit to come to their HEA but when they did it was wonderful.

This is the perfect holiday story to enjoy reading while enjoying the lights of your Christmas tree.

4.75 Hearts What if you were a good luck charm... In love... For others.. Not yourself… Well that is what Jessica is known for. She has dated men who find their real loves right after dating her. And to make matters worse they all want Jessica to make their wedding cakes. Hooked yet? You should be.

Not hooked yet? Ok what if you are a doctor who is on a break from Doctors Without Borders and is forced to go home to your family and are counting down the days until you can go back to Cambodia and then you meet an adorable baker and suddenly one month isn’t long enough since there is a deadline until you head back to where you are most needed. Hooked now?

What if I said all of this happens during the merriest time of the year. Now you are hooked! Jessica and Mitch are delightful together. I loved all the emotions they went through and including family issues, PTSD and self awareness.

I read this is July but part of me wished I had waited until the Christmas season when I could have sat under a cozy blanket with a cup of hot cocoa and had some me time because this is a great story to get you into the mood for romance and the holidays.

I liked Jessica she was such a good friend and had such an amazing heart to be there for her friends and family. She just wanted love, at first I thought she had ridiculous exceptions but as the story played out you knew her heart was in the right place. I was not really a fan of Mitch I found hims selfish and self-centered through out the whole book and felt like Jessica deserved better. I fell like like there is some much more to the story for Trent and Whitney and I can't wait to see what they face if they get there story. I did not read book one In this series but you do get to catch up with Sarah and Wes. This book does have adult language and content and may not be suitable for all readers.

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the e-ARC of this book in exchange for a review. Once again Entangled knows romance! This book started off soft and sweet and turned I to a super steamy Christmas romance. I really appreciated the fact that they truly compromised to be together without sacrificing any of the things that made them really exceptional people. It was really nice to see another curvy girl as the lead. There were some wonderful Christmas activities and moments in this book but it wasn’t overwhelming. The cast of characters was wonderful from giant, tattooed, cousin Trent to petite and perfect Sarah. I loved this book so much and will definitely be looking in to more books from this author.

Jessica is known in town, as a good luck charm. Every one of her ex's marries the next person they date after Jessica. Jessica is ready for her happily ever after. Enter, her best friends brother Mitch. One problem they couldn't be more different. Jessica loves the small town life and the Mitch prefers traveling the world and not being tied down to one place.

This book is fantastic! I read it in one sitting! I absolutely fell in love with the plot and the characters. It's funny, sweet, romantic and so much more! This the perfect feel good winter read.
