Jessica is a baker in the town of Blue Moon Bay on the coast of California. Mitch is the brother of her friend Lia and is a doctor who spends most of his time in field hospitals in underserved countries. They have not seen each other in years and meet again when his break falls in December and he comes home to see his family. They have very different lives and the author does a wonderful job of telling their story.

I received a copy of this book to review through NetGalley and thoroughly enjoyed it.

A Lot Like Christmas is a steamy Hallmark movie style story of small town baker Jess and world traveling doctor Mitch. Mitch is fresh off a rather difficult trip with Doctors Without Borders and he’s spending Christmas in his hometown; something he hasn’t done in a very long time. Tasked with picking up cookies from the local bakery, Mitch meets Jess again in a whole new light. A friend of Mitch’s younger sister, Jess hasn’t been having the best of luck romantically lately after having made a third wedding cake for an ex boyfriend. So when the world traveling doctor expresses an interest in spending time with her, Jess hesitates but ultimately can’t resist and focuses on living in the moment. Is Jess only going to get her hopes up and heart broken or can she keep it causal and have a winter fling?

If you love Hallmark Christmas movies this book is a must read! The Christmas spirit flows through this book and wraps you in a warm embrace. The connection Jess and Mitch experience is so much deeper than either of them expected it to be and it really opened their eyes. I loved the dual POVs and it was pivotal to the story getting both of their perspectives and seeing their frame of mind as they struggled with big decisions. This is the second book in the Blue Moon Bay series and it can be read as a stand-alone.

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.

I was very excited when I saw that we were going to be able to return to Blue Moon Bay, and I had a feeling I knew who we would be following as the lead female when the first book ended, so I was delighted at the opportunity at the chance to read this ARC. Christmas books aren't usually my thing (though I do find a guilty pleasure in watching Hallmark Christmas movies - but usually for laughs more than the awws), but this one was something I didn't want to pass up.

Jessica & Mitch have a very passionate whirlwind romance in this book, but it isn't necessarily unbelievable. There are genuine conflicts in this book that are outside forces, putting strain on the budding relationship to assist with the anxiety of whether or not they will end up together in the end. This isn't a will-they-won't-they romance, but rather a "will the world tear them apart before they can be together" romance. (Is that a genre? It is now) I enjoyed the tie-in's with the first book, and while you don't need to read the first one to understand this one, I do think it adds a lot more to the story. Some of the character description is not as detailed since it came in the first book, but there isn't a lack of character development if you read this one as a standalone.

Overall, I personally liked this one a bit less than the first, but that doesn't make this a bad book in the slightest. I think it was very cute and I was genuinely not sure how the ending was going to be at times. I think if you like Christmas romance books, or if you liked the first book in Blue Moon Bay you should definitely check this out. 3.5/5

Wow my first book by Jennifer Snow and it won't be my last. She has a way of writing that pulls you in and you don't want to stop reading. I thoroughly enjoyed A Lot Like Christmas and when I looked it up on Goodreads I didn't realize it was the second book in the Blue Moon Bay series but it read like a stand alone story. It's like I didn't miss anything by not reading the first in the series! The characters are well developed and really likable. There was comedy and romance in the story. I found myself giggling while reading.

Jess owns her own bakery, loves her town and friends. It is a quiet town but she loves that. The one thing she doesn't have is a boyfriend. It seems that she's always making wedding cakes for her ex's brides to be...you see after she breaks up with a guy he seems to find his wedding partner right after...she has no idea what people are calling her...she feels unlucky in love.

An old childhood friend, who left Blue Moon Bay becomes a doctor and now he is working with Doctors Without Borders, comes home for the holidays. Dr Mitch Jameson has come home for the holidays but hasn't told his family that he won't be there for Christmas day because he's hoping to get back to Cambodia to help the people that need him. His mother loves Christmas and he knows he just has to survive early Christmas with his parents and his sister Lia along with her husband.

But he meets Jess, his sister Lia's childhood friend, at the bakery. He is enthralled with Jess and considering she's not looking for dates or love anymore she is the perfect person for Mitch to spend time with...no commitment. But what Mitch doesn't foresee is that how Jess makes him feel....
Will they fall in love or just keep it casual?? Because Mitch makes it plain as day that he won't be staying in Blue Moon Bay....he is a traveling doctor.

Again I really loved the story and characters. Highly recommend. I wish I could have given this Christmas romance more than a 5 star rating....

So cute. The premise of the book is a small town girl who owns a successful bakery and has seen more of the world than her town. Then we have the hero who works with doctors without boarders, coming back to the small town he grew up in for Christmas. The two connect and hit it off right away. I loved them in the bakery with him trying to help her in the kitchen. There is a 10 year age gap between the two characters so while they new each other before the start of the book they didn't grow up together. They do the various small town Christmas events and after spending a lot of time together begin to fall for one another. The issue being that he has to leave to go back to doctors without boarders and she loves the small town life.

This has all the Christmas cuteness and holiday spirit that I love in a romance without being too overbearing. We have lots of side characters that help to bring the town to life. The characters communicate so there is NO MISCOMMUNICATION TROPE. This made a world of difference for me. Neither character sacrifices what they want for the relationship and they compromise to make the relationship work. What I really loved about the story is that it was realistic and I could completely see this happening to two people in real life, I believed the chemistry, the situations, everything wasn't completely predictable. It was great. There is a bit of spice too if that is something you are looking for.

This was a very good story. Mitch was a doctor with doctors without borders who after a very bad experience in Cambodia was home for Christmas. He met Jessica who owned a bakery and they just hit it off. Jessica was undecided about selling her bakery and Mitch was having trouble adjusting to being home. It was heartbreaking when we learn what had happened to him on his last tour. As they are falling in love, both are struggling with decisions they should make. Their characters were very real and warm and Jessica's friends were people you want to know. I loved the story

This is the second book in the Blue Moon Bay series, but you do not have to read the first before reading this one. The books are completely standalone. I think you'll want to read the first because they are both great books. Jessica is a fabulous character. I loved her. She's smart and funny and fully entrenched in her life in her small town. Then one Christmas season, Mitch comes home for a visit. He's recovering from a traumatic event and waiting for his next assignment for his job. He's spent very little time in his hometown as an adult. Then he ends up hanging out with Jessica. And the fun begins. The book is funny, sweet and pulls all the heartstrings. The ending was awesome! I really enjoyed this book and fully recommend it. I received an advance copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Although described as a Christmas themed romance, this book is far more than just that. The author skilfully covers deeper issues whilst still retaining the relaxed, heartwarming feel of the genre. It’s got humour and heat as well as a lovely setting. Just the thing to while away a Winter afternoon with !

What a delightfully sweet romance.

I love it when an author has a remarkable talent that allows creating a feel-good story even when there is a case for heartbreak or sadness. Jennifer Snow is one of those authors.

This story encompasses so many emotions. It is a mixture of tropes; sister’s best friend, holiday Romance, age gap, and I’m sure a few others I’ve missed. But I loved every minute of the story.

It would be easy to write this with a taste of negativity, but the author chose the high road and we get a romance laced with fun, steam, and passion with a small bit of angst and tension. Such a beautifully balanced read that you just don’t want to put down!

Even though the story is part of a series, it could definitely be read on its own. But why would you want to? The first story A Lot Like Love was delightful too and you get to meet some of the characters in this book too.

Definitely put this on your holiday reading list. I know you will love it just like I did!

Loved reading this book and series. One of my favorite authors. If you haven't read the book yet I highly recommend doing so. I suggest reading the books in order.

I was so excited to receive an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. I had read the first book in the series A Lot Like Love which I loved and I wanted to read more about the characters in Blue Moon Bay. I found this book to be a quick read that I did not want to put down...the story continues this time focusing on Sarah’s friend Jessica the local baker. She has been down on her luck in the dating game when a handsome man battling his own complications in life walks into her bakery to pick up an order. Turns out he is the brother of a friend, the story continues to help each of them find what they want most and how to make that work into their very different views on living life to ones fullest. Can’t wait to see where the next book will take us.

Another stunning installment by Jennifer Snow.

Jessica Connolly has never really left her town of Blue Moon Bay but an offer to sell has her considering what else could be out there.

Dr Mitch Jameson however is rarely in his hometown of Blue Moon Bay, preferring to be out saving the world with Doctors Without Borders.

But when he comes home for Christmas, he and Jessica instantly connect.

Can this unlikely duo make it work or is this just set to be a Christmas fling?

A Lot Like Christmas by Jennifer Snow is the adorable second novel in the Blue Moon Bay series, but is written as a stand alone book. Jessica owns the local bakery and Mitch is home for Christmas to decompress from his latest posting for Doctors Without Borders. When the two meet, sparks fly and they embark on a secret affair that has a definite end date...he leaves for Cambodia on Christmas Day. Their romance becomes more than either of them imagined it would, but would it be enough for one of them to give up their dreams for the other?

It was good to be back in Blue Moon Bay and visit with friends from the first book. Ms. Snow creates engaging and likeable characters and draws you into their lives with a deft hand. A very enjoyable Christmas novel!

Thank you to the author, Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for an ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

Bright and easy book. Romance novel set on Christmas time that has the special it’s and the lovely characters. It is easy to enjoy as it has little tension or suspense. There are a few elements of drama but overall it’s one of those books that keeps you comfortable and you can read it while having a cup of tea. The characters are falling in love during the Christmas season Chen Mitch is on holiday, he must return overseas in a few weeks so he wasn’t expecting to find in his hometown a reason to stay, beside his family. Jess on the other hand hasn’t traveled and her business keeps her in town and she can’t really imagine how it would be to leave everyone and everything behind. Luckily Mitch is the one to realise that he finally found a reason and someone to come back to.
Happy ending and good vibes in this book.

This is a quick, fun, Christmas romance that just makes you feel good! The main characters have great chemistry from the beginning and the author did a great job of making their relationship feel real. As always, Jennifer Snow’s books have some steamy romance, but I felt like this book had a perfect amount of steam!

I definitely recommend this series and this author for some quick, enjoyable romance reads!

A Different Kind of Christmas Countdown. What happens when you meet a new person 3 weeks before Christmas and you find yourself falling in love... and yet they have told you up front that they are leaving town again on Christmas Day? Well, in this case... you have a plot (and plot device, as the countdown is given at the start of every chapter) for a romance novel. :D For the clean/ sweet crowd, know that Snow doesn't exactly shy away from the sex scenes here, and they are never of the "behind closed doors" (unless inside a freezer counts? :D) nor "fade to black". Otherwise, this was a fun Christmas novel of the various parties and sweets that flavor the season while also dealing with a couple of distinctly non-Christmas heavier issues as well. Truly an excellent work that shows Snow's skill of showing off social issues without letting them weigh a story down - and even working them into the overall theme of the given book. Finally, I love the "connective tissue" of the series such that we see the couple from the first book a few times and seem to have an indication of who at least one person in the next couple in the next book will be. Excellent tale no matter the time of year you read it, and very much recommended.

Thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for providing me an ARC of this book I appreciate it!

Although this is the second book in the series, it's a standalone, with no cliff hangers, that can be read separately.

I really enjoyed this book. Likeable characters and a likeable supporting cast made this an easy, fun read. The characters each had dimension and big hearts. The main characters each had a difficult decision to make and I liked that it wasn't predictable.. The town's description was magical and I'd love to spend Christmas there. This is really a lovely, feel-good story.

I hadn't realized that this was the second book in a series and haven't read the first one, but I didn't feel like I was missing out. A Lot Like Christmas is a festive, fun and cozy read that immediately puts you in a Christmassy mood. It feels like something straight out of a Hallmark Christmas movie, which I'm obsessed with so this was a match made in heaving for me. I really loved Jennifer Snow's writing, and will now definitely also pick up the first book in the series!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the author, for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

A Lot Like Christmas will immerse readers in a sweet romance about a baker and a doctor over the month before Christmas. Jess owns the only bakery in town and has a reputation of being a lucky charm…the guys she dates are said to meet their soulmates after they break up. Mitch is home decompressing from his latest tour with Doctors Without Borders. He is just a temporary distraction…right? The story is funny, full of family and friends and well worth the time of readers looking for an easygoing book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Highly recommend.

A Lot Like Christmas by J. Snow, published by Entangled Publishing LLC, is the second book in the Blue Moon Bay Series. Every book is a stand-alone. The previous book is A LOt Like Love, Sarah's story.
Jessica is a 29 year old owner of a bakery, and she's the eternal bachelorette it seems. What she longs for is the picket fence live, a husband, kids someday.
Mitch is the ten years older brother of her friend and he's away with doctors without borders. Back home for the holidays, he falls for the cake baker pretty quick. But other than a sizzling attraction they don't have much in common. He's about to leave soon, she wants to stay.
Both are between a rock and a hard place.
ALLC is a heartwarming holiday story, well written, beautifully told, a read in one sitting story that gives all the feels. 4,5 beautiful stars.
