A great follow up which is to be expected after a strong start to the series. What a club to be a part of. Elizabeth, Joyce, Ron and Ibrahim are all fantastic characters who you cannot help but enjoy their story and the camaraderie between them all.

The second instalment of Richard Osman’s “Thursday Murder Club” series, and a triumphant return to Coopers Chase retirement community and its team of elderly amateur detectives!

Osman weaves another intricate web of intrigue with this latest story, and makes us both laugh and cry along with the many returning characters we grew to love in the first book as this second story unfolds. I really enjoy how the author counterbalances some of truly horrifying events described in the story with elements of the mundane described and referenced by the characters, particularly Joyce with her affinity to buns and cakes!

Overall, a wonderful storyline told so skilfully by the author. I for one cannot wait for a third instalment!

With thanks to Penguin and Netgalley for an advance sampler copy in exchange for an honest review.

Such a cosy, comforting, entertaining read. Another enjoyable hit from Mr Osman. We return to the world of the Thursday Murder Club and a deftly convoluted plot of cold case murder mixed with the peril and high-jinks of modern day life. It’s a joy to be reunited with such a lovely group of friends

The Thursday Murder Club was for me a standout book of recent times, so it is fair to say Richard Osman had set a very high standard for his follow up, The Man Who Died Twice. Happily, in this case expectations have been met and I think it's safe to say, exceeded! Our four unlikely retiree friends, Joyce, Ron, Ibrahim and of course the inimitable Elizabeth tackle mystery, murder, diamonds and MI5 with street smarts, ingenuity and cunning, with more than a little humour along the way. I for one cannot wait for the next instalment from everyone's favourite Cooper's Chase residents.

Many thanks to Netgalley for an ARC preview.

Received an exclusive extract from NetGalley and Penguin General UK - thanks!

Read the Thursday Murder Club and loved it - so have been waiting for The Man Who Died Twice to come out. The observations, dialogue, interaction between the characters are as delightful as ever - can't wait to read the rest of it. September 16, I am ready for you!!

Thanks to #NetGalley for providing me with a sample chapter of the second #TheThursdayMurderClub #TheManWhoDiedTwice I’ve had the first book on my #TBR pile for a while now but couldn’t resist dipping into number two while I got the chance. This first chapter is so good. I’m obviously not familiar with the characters yet but already warming to them, especially Ron. The opening pages have thrown up an interesting premise for the rest of the novel so can’t wait to get my hands on it come 16th September.

I was only provided with the first chapter to review.

But can’t wait to read the rest. The first part has gripped me and I feel this new book will be just as popular as the first.

I read an excerpt of this book, and it has only left me wanting more! The excerpt was taken from part 1 of the book.

Elizabeth received a mysterious note from a new neighbour, who she remembers from her past. How is it possible that he can be living next door to her? She ponders this during a Thursday Murder Club meeting, while her friends discuss whether or not Joyce should get a dog, at 77 years of age.
