Okay, I absolutely loved this book and flew through it! After so many book friends raved about this book, I knew I had to read this book!

This book so many things I love in romance books! Amazing characters and character growth, fun and encouraging side characters/ friends, great steam 🔥and fun settings (NYC)

Jack and Sadie are hands down, my top 5 favorite book couple! I loved their chemistry, the way they encourage each other and their quirks 😍

I will read anything that Falon Ballard writes next and this book is why I love romance books so much ✨

  The author captured my attention from the moment Sadie got fired from her financial job, tried a dating app while she was drunk, showing up late on the date which was actually a meet-up with her future roommate/landlord Jack because she mixed up both the dating and roommates app. Their first few encounters were awkward but give it to Sadie's witty attitude to rattle Jack's life. They definetly complimented each other. The tension building up from roomate to lovers was slow burn but sweet, heartwarming and sexy. Sadie's four amazing bestfriends added warmth, comfort and laughter in this book. Their banters in their chat group got me giggling. People need crazy and supportive friends in their life. The book also included past traumas experienced by both Jack and Sadie but it still made them likable characters. Although Sadie's self doubt and thinking she will always screw things up can be irritating a times. The big revelation in the end for me was forgiven too quickly but the characters still ended the story on a positive note without too much drama.

   I really appreciate the authors brilliant humor in this book. She definitely took me out my reading slump.

I thought the premise sounded so fun and I really wanted to love this one but I just didn’t. I mostly struggled with the characters.

Sadie annoyed me. She was constantly putting herself down and needing reassurance from her friends. She took a lot from her friends and didn’t give much back. And I personally felt there wasn’t near enough development for Jack. I wanted to know more about him.

The conflict that all romances have at the end before the main characters realized they belong together was majorly lacking. It just seemed like the author was looking for anything to cause an issue and it really lacked depth for me.

I liked the slow burn aspect of the romance. Overall I think the premise had promise but it just fell flat for me.

This book was alright for me. I really loved the intro and her blow up at work, but then I thought things were a bit too easy for Sadie and I didn't love how Jack bought so much for her so quick into their friendship. It was all a bit too insta everything for me.

After an unfortunate outburst at work Sadie finds herself fired, but that may just be the best thing that has happened to her in a while....it serves as a catalyst to make her dreams come true. Her friends talk her into getting back into the online dating scene. She gets matched instantly but when shows up for coffee with Jack she quickly realizes that it wasn't a dating site at all, rather it was a roommate matching service. The location is to die for and the rent is cheap so she takes the plunge. Jack and Sadie become friends and a mutual attraction slowly burns, it could probably ignite if they'd each get out of their own ways first.

I liked the dialogue between Sadie and Jack as well as Sadie's internal monologues. I appreciated the mental health focus of both individuals but didn't really connect to Sadie's "why." because it wasn't set forth well. She constantly cast herself as selfish when that wasn't always the case and it got a bit tedious. I was rooting for them both to work through their issues and for Sadie to succeed in her new business venture. Overall a cute rom-com with good banter. 3. 5 stars. I went into this book completely blind, I fell in love with the gorgeous cover.
I did not expect to love it this much!

I’m usually not one for Insta-love but this one was also a slow burn romance too.

I enjoyed every single character. I wish we had gotten more about the MCs, I felt like their past was a huge mystery.

I’ve seen some mixed reviews on Sadie but I actually found her to be a breath of fresh air. Sadie had me laughing out loud from the very first line.

My favorite part about the book was the found family and friendships. The group texts between the friends were hilarious! The kind of friends we all hope to have one day.

Overall I really loved this book, it was a fast read for me. I definitely recommend it if you’re in the mood for something light and a little steamy.

The way Sadie and Jack met felt very contrived. I get that she was drunk at the time she used the app to make a date but she mentioned seeing her last login date listed on the app so how did she not know she had a roommate finding app downloaded on her phone because she didn’t seem to know that it was for roommates and that was when she was sober? That whole thing kind of bugged me and I had a hard time taking it seriously.

The book is told in Sadie’s POV which was kind of annoying since Jack was a mystery for most of the book.

This book was way steamier than I thought it would be since I swear every Putnam book I’ve ever read has been closed door. It was also a very slow burn.

Overall I enjoyed it but it didn’t blow me away. It was good, not great.

In the same vein as The Flatshare, this book finds Sadie and Jack as sudden roommates when Sadie rents the extra bedroom in his Brooklyn brownstone. Sadie has just had another dissapointing year at work and Jack has unexpectedly lost his parents. Though the two are opposites, they soon find living together is slowly bringing them both back to life in ways neither of them expected. A sweet and fun romance novel

These characters have my heart, Jack and Sadie’s relationship is sweet and cute and the way they connect to each other is adorable and they also have this sexy thing about both of them.

I will not lie..... I forgot all about this book and had no idea what it was about when I finally picked it up. Needless to say, I was instantly hooked! This book was everything I wanted and more! Jack was by far my favorite character! What can I say, I love nerdy types with messy black hair. I am finding that I can actually relate to a majority of these characters now that I am experiencing the same things, and I 100000% connected with every one of these characters.

This was an amazing story and I cannot recommend it enough!

While Lease on Love was an enjoyable read, there was a spark that just wasn't there for me. I found the time jumps really awkward and not written well, however I did enjoy the premise and the characters. Having Sadie download a roommate app accidentally and thinking she was on a date with Jack was so clever, and created a start of a solid dynamic between the two. Going back to the time jumps, I think the book would have felt more fluid if Sadie and Jack had opened up to each other a little bit sooner, as the main point of conflict happens in the second to last chapter. It made the ending feel extremely rushed and the epilogue feel misplaced. Overall, I did enjoy Lease on Love, but I wouldn't actively recommend it.

A sweet, easy, adorable book that will brighten your days. Sadie was such a fun character to get to know, she has big dreams and is not afraid to chase them. Her group of friends is fabulous, they were there in the moments that Sadie needed them most bringing with them their unique characteristics to deal with each situation. And then there's Jack who was a very complex character that had many secrets to unveil. He was exciting to get to know because you had no idea what was going to be revealed next.
Sadie and Jack have a slow burn romance between two people that are afraid to love which made the slowly developing relationship make perfect sense. I enjoyed their story very much and it felt very well written for the circumstances.
This book is filled with wonderful characters, emotional situations and some great humor mixed it. I enjoyed it very much and I am grateful to Netgalley and Putnam for the opportunity to read an ARC of this fabulous book in exchange for a honest review.

I have got to say, its not often that a book has me openly cackling not once, but twice in the first like 5 chapters. Sadie’s experiences gave me second hand embarrassment like so bad, like poor Sadie.

That being said after those instances this story seemed to DRAGGGGG.

Sadie has too much of a “I’m a quirky girlboss” and it was endearing for a while. Until it wasn’t. Jack had the whole mysterious stranger with a tragic past that Sadie kept forgetting to ask about. She’s very much all about her. And there was so much “telling” and not “showing” about her character and personality.

Had great potential but it fell a bit flat for me. This was fine. 2.5 stars rounded to 3 stars because of the audible cackling.

This one was a miss for me, though others may disagree. At the start of a Lease on Love, Sadie quits her job and has to move out of her apartment, landing with a mysterious nerdy handsome man who happens to own a brownstone in Brooklyn. You know what happens next! The premise is cute, but it all did get very much #girlboss #quirky #millennial at times. The male lead, Jack, barely had a personality. The book tried to touch on a couple of pretty deep emotional issues, but didn’t go deep enough to make it meaningful. I did like her strong friendships and how Jack was seamlessly brought into the fold. It’s also written in first person, which isn’t an automatic no for me but it has to be really really good to overcome my general dislike of that. I had to force myself to finish which isn’t a good sign. 2.75 stars rounded up.

Picked this up on a whim the other night after seeing glowing reviews from some of my favorite bookstagrammers. As usual, they did not disappoint. This was so good! From the very first chapter, I loved Sadie’s personality. While she struggles with negative self talk, she is whip smart and so sarcastically funny.

I read this in one sitting. The story flowed so organically and I really liked that the relationship took its time in developing. It was nice to see so much growth from both characters as they worked out some of their personal strugglesu- both separately and together. Really looking forward to more from this author!

This was a sweet story of accidental roommates turning into more. The relationship developed organically, and nothing felt forced for the main characters. I love the found family that Jack finds with Sadie and her friends.

This slow burn romance and roommates to lovers trope was exceptionally refreshing. I loved watching the relationship between Jackpot and Sweet Pea develop. It felt natural and not at all forced. I would love to follow this friend group in the future (that sounds stalker-ish but I mean that in a completely non-threatening way). I would love a companion novel on the Nick and Harley’s relationship.

This was such a charming read! I loved the outspoken main character and adorably nerdy (but swoon-worthy) love interest. I'm looking forward to what Falon Ballard writes next!

I only knocked down half a star because I wanted more of Sadie’s past so it could help me understand her internal monologue of insecurities. But other than that, LOVED.
