Absolutely loved this latest offering from Tricia Ashley. I love her books anyway but this one exceeded all of my exceptionally high expectations.
The setting In Northumberland was familiar having recently returned from the area and the descriptions of the castle had me longing to return. I loved both Dido and Henry and even the formidable Mrs Powys (even I feel uncomfortable thinking of her as Sabine) became a firm favourite. Everything about this fed into my ideas of a perfect Christmas and, although I loved the ending, I was filled with regret when I read the last page.
My only complaint? The glorious descriptions of food had me reaching for the comfort food.

I absolutely love this authors books so I was really excited to be approved for an ARC read of this one and it was perfect escapism for my Christmas in July readathon. This was so much more than just a Christmas story and was a such a beautiful romantic read and a story of families and friends coming together and how everything happens for a reason. This book made me laugh and cry In equal measure and the descriptions of the mouthwatering food really leapt of the page and tickled my taste buds. This book also exhumed the Christmas spirit in abundance. I defy anyone to not fall in love with this cosy Christmas read.

Wow what can I say? I'm a super huge fan of Trisha Ashleys writing but One Christmas at the Castle blew me away. Its a book full of fun and makes for the perfect indulgence reading. I was whisked away in seconds every time I started reading and ended up staying up till 3 am the first read through as I just couldnt wait to see what would happen next. It was like picking up a best friend each time. This will be come a firm favourite and will be read religiously every christmas alongside Twelve days of Christmas. I personally think its one of her best reads. The story focuses on two side of a story which is so wonderfully told and clear. LOVED IT!!

Oh what a glorious read. I loved every line. The characters, the castle setting, the guests... JUST EVERYTHING.

My first time reading Trisha Ashley.. or certainly won't be the last.

Simply loved it, or did I say that already

A lovely winter read. If you have missed Christmas as it used to be in these modern times, here it is in spades. Warm hearted detail of all aspects of Christmas; the decorations, the traditions and the house party feel. All for the benefit of an elderly lady’s last Christmas in her beloved castle. Add in romance and a gentle mystery plus a touch of humour and Trish Ashley has come up trumps again. I loved it!
Thanks to Random House and NetGalley for an Arc in return for my honest opinion.
