Crossing Lines, by Adrienne Giordano, is a great book for those who are fans of romantic suspense. I'm normally not but I did end up reading it. I really had a hard time with much of the book because there was some repetition and I found the romance to be predictable. But that's usually how romantic suspense is. The bad guys were really bad and there was even a plot twist at the end.
Watching over a beautiful ex-agent, Shane, a former CIA operative, must decide whether to protect his hard won ability to stay incognito or protect his heart.
Elizabeth Aiken, a CIA operative is short on friends as well as time. She realises that she's on her own. An operation in Venezuela has gone horribly wrong and now her cover is blown wide open. She was almost unable to escape the country alive. The Agency has turned their back on her and there's now a price on her head, so she finds the only one who will help her vanish.
Shane doesn't want to risk his cover by helping her. He especially doesn't want anything to do with the cartel backed president who put the hit out on her. If Elizabeth’s isn't careful, she could lose her heart if she forgets to watch her back.

I love a good mystery Romance novel and this one is just that. I found once I got through the first few chapters I did not want to put it down. It follows the live of 3 friends who are living life after being burned on assignments, each with new identities and relying on each other...until they get a call asking if they can help a cia operative on the run....Liz turns their lives upside down and threatens the quiet lives they have made. One of the operatives Shane must decide to follow his heart and possibly lose the life he has now made or take on the reason Liz was on the run .....a great east read for a weekend . Hoping to explore more books from this author .

This is an enjoyable read. I was immediately pulled into the story, which opens with plenty of action. The plot is fast paced and intriguing. However, while I liked the book, I didn't love it, simply because I didn't feel a strong connection with or between Shane and Liz/Faith. I really wanted to connect with them because I found the plot so interesting that I felt compelled to keep reading, but when all was said and done, I felt a disappointed in my lack of real connection with the characters. I didn't dislike them...I just didn't become invested in them. With that said, I realize that we all connect differently with characters, and since the book was well written otherwise, I would encourage others who enjoy romantic suspense to give this one a try.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC for review.

The writing is good, the plot is OK, and the characters are great, so the book is entertaining. The problem is all the repetitions of the romantic questions, it gets tedious.

Crossing Lines is my first book by Adrienne Giordano but won't be the last. From the compelling characters to the break-neck speed, I could not put the book down. Even the moments when the heroine went off on her own away from the team that wanted to help was explained by her back story. Well done. The heat level is a little high, but not too much. I loved the setting and the plot twists and turns.

I did figure out some of what was going to happen but that didn't diminish the story for me at all. These characters held true to the end, even with their arc and change. I wanted to read more about them.

I received a copy for review through NetGalley. All opinions are my own. #crossinglines #netgalley

Liz was a CIA operative and her cover was blown and she has to fight her way out of Venezuela, after killing the President of Venezuela’s son. She’s been burned and has to start over in Chicago. She is to reach to Shane. Shane was also an operative and burned. Liz becomes Faith and is not to contact Shane. Shane owns a bar and just staying below the radar. When an assassin comes for Faith, Shane helps. Then Faith goes back to Venezuela to turn herself over to the President hoping it gets the heat off Shane. Shane is the type to not leave a man behind. Somehow the President knows their every move and they believe there is a mole among them. Can Shane get to Faith before she’s killed.

This was an excellent story. Shane had to leave his family behind and Faith has none. Shane works with a team and Faith works best alone. Action and steamy. I figured some things out early but still couldn’t put it down.

This latest book by Ms. Giordano, is the start of a new suspense romance series, properly titled , Deep Cover.
Elizabeth Aiken is a woman who never expected to find her life turned upside down . A CIA operative whose last operation in Venezuela goes totally wrong, she is now fighting to stay alive. With assassins looking for her , she turns to former Marine and CIA operative , Shane/Viper Quinn. A man that has no desire to get involved with either Elizabeth or her problems. Even though the attraction is obviously there.
But what is a man to do when his heart and his mind collide?
Be ready for a rollercoaster ride, in which at times you will be holding your breath . Will Shane/Viper and Elizabeth survive the dangerous men? If they do, will they finally get their HEA or will each go their separate ways?
From the start the plot was engaging and the characters complex. In this case , I appreciate the fact that the female character is strong and one that takes charge.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Crossing Lines is my first book by Adrienne Giordano, and it was a good read. It follows ex-CIA agent Liz (a.k.a Faith) as she tries to establish life on the run after killing the president of Venezuela's son (while on a job and in self defense). Helping her is Shane, who has been hiding in plain sight in Chicago for two years after he put the president's other son in prison. Someone on the inside is tipping of the bad guys, and it's up to Faith, Shane, and a few friends to figure a way out

In the process, Shane and Faith grow close and begin to hope for a life together not in hiding. It's clear, though, that someone they know (or know of) is selling Faith out.

I figured out who it was fairly early on, but it didn't detract overly from the story; plenty of other things were going on to keep me interested. One thing that I was a little skeptical of, however, was how frequently Shane, Faith, and the others used their "burner" cell phones for email, texting, and GPS. What I know about burners and tracking could fit in a thimble, but it still seemed odd to me.

Overall, a fun book with lots of action, strong characters, and the right account of romance.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion. Thanks!

A kickass hero-heroines on the run, despised and powerful villain and a passionate but action filled love story! This book had it all.
There were many shades to characters and I loved the heroine. Fate kicked her so many times and still she survived and became a warrior. Likewise Shane was an alpha hero with a heart. Both were strong, brave and combustible together.
I loved the secondary characters and epilogue.
No cheating and recommended.

He spent two years avoiding all contact even his mother’s hot gooey fudge brownies. This woman wanted his help, she had his emergency code, that guy was now in trouble, nobody does that. Shane, Dusty, Trevor, undercover only met when stress became to much.
Woman in Venezuela had her cover blown, and badly beaten. He’d help. this time, then to forget she ever knew them.
Didn’t care for the swearing seemed like it was stuck in to emphasize they were angry. The plot and Shane were good.
Given ARC from Net Galley and ALG publishing for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
