While there are some positive aspects, this book is VERY steeped in traditional diet culture ("a calorie is a calorie", written food logs, lists of rules governing food and consumption, etc.). There is lots of talk of going "on" and "off" a diet and "relapse".

There are some helpful thought exercises for identifying triggers for eating behaviors and planning alternate strategies, and some guidance toward mindful eating (though it's not really termed as such). However, I would proceed with caution as while this is less regimented and judgmental than some guides I've read, it's a pretty far departure from a more wholistic, intuitive approach.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review.

Take Charge of your Diet by Sylvie Boulay

I liked this . It shows that a diet isn't just about eating less , it's also about what is going on in your mind , and the way it can work against you to self sabotage.
It make me realise that that if you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got.
Sylvie uses her skills of CBT to help you rethink your strategy to help you lose weight , and keep it off.
