I did not end up getting around to this book but am trying to clear out my NetGalley account. I am auto-approved by this publisher and took more books than I could actually read.

I really enjoyed this one! It's fun and light hearted, genuinely a quick read for fans of a well executed meet cute. The book is as much a love letter to New York as it is to the couple themselves, and in all honesty, that was a big part of what attracted me to to the story. There's no better place to fall in love than New York, and you'll find yourself brought along for the ride with Kate Spencer's breezy romantic comedy.

I could not make it through this book. I was drawn to it because I enjoy Kate's podcast, but I felt like I could see the ending of this book as soon as I started it.

Loved the dynamics between the three friends in the book and would love to learn more about them and the origins or their relationship. I do with the hero and heroine were together in the book more. It was good but not great.

This was fun. I came into this one later than planned, but I'm glad I did.
This is a romance that clearly hasn't worked for everyone. For me, this meet-cute worked for me, as well as the hero. My partner has a lot of the same elements of Hayes, and so I enjoyed him quite a bit. Franny can be hard to love. She ultimately won me over, but I can understand why people don't love it.
This book is ultimately a love letter to NYC. If you live there, or have visited often, you will have moments where nostalgia for the city slaps you in the face. (at least it did for me, though I have only been there once.)
This was a lovely book, and I would read from this author again.

The perfect closed door romance, this book put a smile on my face the entire time while reading it. A book lovers dream to read a book set in New York with bookish elements!

This sounded like a cute romance, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

Franny, an interior designer at Spayce, is laid off from her job. On the subway home, she has a disastrous moment and is rescued by businessmen, Hayes. They start an unexpected viral sensation with their interaction. And keep getting thrown together, though they seem like a very improbable match. What's more interesting? They actually like each other.

I wish I could say I liked this, but there was just issue, after issue. The first issue was literally that I wasn't in the mood for a slow=burn. I just wasn't.

Then there's Franny, who even 50% of the way into the book has sooo little character development that I was unsure why I should care about her as a character.

Hayes on the other hand grabbed my attention right away. If only he had had someone worth my attention to spend my time on.

With the issue of Franny, I struggled through reading all of this. The setup could have been great with a stronger main character.

Thanks for the ARC!

This book was incredibly fun and laugh-out-loud funny -- worth the hype it's received. It's also a love letter to New York City, so folks who live in the city or love visiting New York will likely enjoy this one.

TL;DR:
- 4.5 stars
- Content warnings: side character health issues
- Sweet opposites-attract romance set against the backdrop of New York City.

Loved:
- I will ALWAYS love an NYC romance. You can't make me stop! The descriptions and romanticization of the city was just so cute and one of my first notes to myself was "what nice nyc stuff!!" lol.
- Hayes (the love interest) was so precious, and honestly I ended up liking him a lot more than I liked the lead (Franny) and rooting for him very hard. This isn't a knock on the book. Either of the leads being someone I love can make a novel for me. He was it.
- The supporting cast of characters was diverse in jobs, sexualities, races etc. and for the most part it didn't feel forced or for the sake of representation. I LOVE a fun band of side characters. These were fun.

Less into:
- Was frequently a little frustrated with Franny in her judgments and how she reacted to situations. I recognize that it's actually just normal trauma behavior from the stuff she had been through but sometimes I was just screaming into a pillow over her actions. I'd still read it, but you'll see what I mean when you do.

Overall a sweet romantic comedy with witty banter and I'd definitely pick it up for a quick NYC fix.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Granny is having the worst day. When her dress rips wide open in the middle of the subway showing more than she wants to share, a stranger rushes to help cover her with his not-so-cheap suit jacket. Franny is thankful but when he can’t get away fast enough, she worries she may have embarrassed herself more than she thought!

As Franny and her rescuer seem to keep running into each other, they find they like each other a lot. Full of laughs, life, and New York moments, In a New York Minute is worth the read!

This turns out to be a really good book. Franny is not having a good day from the time her dress is ripped on the subway doors, yet after one thing and then another she begins to have a better day when meeting a guy. This is when the book really starts making itself into a wonderful story. Very much worth the read.

This book is a smart, modern rom-com. I loved the characters and the growth of their relationship. I look forward to what Kate Spencer comes up with next.

This was a really cute debut novel from Kate Spencer. I loved the main characters, Franny and Hayes, and watching their love story unfold was so fun, The dialogue was great, and the plot was a very cute concept that I enjoyed (who doesn't love a viral meet cute!?) The secondary characters were diverse and added a lot of depth to the story, and the setting - New York City, obviously! - was the perfect backdrop to Franny and Hayes' romance.

Very cute rom com and loved all the references to New York based movies. Very cute and love letter to New York.

In a New York Minute was a quick and easy read. It showcased some fun friendships, an interesting meet cute, and some laughable moments throughout.
I enjoyed the story, though I felt it a bit rushed towards the end. The romance between Franny and Hayes didn't completely capture my heart or make me swoon, but it was cute enough.
Check it out if you're looking for a quick read this weekend!

Found Family is one of my number one tropes, and Kate Spencer killed it with this one. I love the opposites-attract vibe, the amazing setting , and the way this book made me laugh! I'll read whatever comes next from Kate Spencer.

Such a cute romantic comedy. I love books set in NYC and the author did a great job with the setting. I also LOVED the supporting characters in this book! Like When Harry Met Sally, the friends of the main characters made the story even richer. I was as invested in them as I was in the love story.
