A very enjoyable read. I read it in just 1 day. Kate Spence is becoming one of my new go-to authors and I wholeheartedly recommend her to my library patrons who enjoy romance books.

3.75-4 stars

This was a funny, mostly light-hearted romcom with a predictably happy ending. I enjoyed the characters and pacing of the story, and a couple of the lines/descriptions made me literally laugh out loud, which was fun. I had a good time reading this one and am glad I was able to come back to it!

What a sweet love letter to NYC! I felt like I was right there alongside the characters. This was unique and beautiful. Kate Spencer is my spirit animal.

A meet-cute that happens on the subway and is captured by an onlookers phone, given a hash tag, and goes viral. While I really liked Franny and was rooting for her, a lot of this book was too cute for me. I was expecting it to be more of a rom-com but I didn't see much comedy. I also didn't LOVE either of the MCs. I didn't feel like I could be friends with either of them.

This was perfectly pleasant, but not an OMG amazing absolutely necessary addition to the collection.

This was a cute story and great concept, but it wasn't one of my favorites of the year. It had elements of Grumpy/Sunshine, but sometimes it came across a little aggressive and was hard to feel for the characters when they could be so mean to each other. It's not a waste of time, but it's also not a book I would say you should drop everything and read.

In A New York Minute is a slow burn romantic comedy that starts with an unforgettable opener. Fanny is having the worst day and it gets even worse when her dress gets caught in the door of the subway. Thankfully for her, there is a good samaritan on the train named Hayes who offers her his jacket. This interaction is filmed and posted online and it goes viral. From that moment forward, they are constantly finding themselves in each others orbit.

This story is told in alternating points of view which allows the reader to see how each character actually feels about the other. These two characters are pretty much polar opposites. Hayes constantly feels like he has to be in control of everything. Meanwhile, Franny is more of a dreamer and a go with the flow kind of person. Hayes rarely expresses emotion while Franny wears her heart on her sleeve. These opposing traits are one of the things that actually attract them to each other. When they weren't bantering of course!

I really enjoyed the banter and loved the fact that friends completely called them out on their denial. These friends were just so supportive. They really just wanted what is best for them. Another thing that I enjoyed was the way the setting of NYC was used throughout the story. I loved getting to explore it through the eyes of the characters. There's quite a bit of interconnection between the characters, their friends, and the setting. It is so endearing and well done throughout.

In A New York Minutes takes its on a bit of a journey. You get to know these characters and their quirks. Personally, I found them to be adorable. The same thing can be said for the dynamic between all of the friendships. I loved how supportive they were of each other. Honestly, this is just a truly "good feels" kind of book.

This book was really fun! The love story and relationship after a viral meet-cute incident between the two main characters was really fun, and Spencer also does a great job showing the vibrancy of New York, as well as illustrating the amazing friendships too between the main characters and their friends.

I found this story fun until the heroine caused problems and lacked all communication. I loved the job professions of the characters and really liked the dynamic and banter up until the last 30% of the book. It was at this point where I feel like it the heroine was looking for reasons to cause strife and it prolonged the book in an unnecessary way after the hero and heroine finally talked and resolved their issues.

Cute, NYC romance with a unique meet cute. I was going to give this a solid 3 stars until chapter 28. Now I’m leaning towards a 2.5.

While I can see why people may live this one, I’m just trying to figure out if there was actually any chemistry between the characters.

The side characters and side plot didn’t really add much and the time jumps were a bit confusing.

Also, did the male MC have a personality or was he just cardboard in a Gucci suit?

A delightful little snack of a book. Not without some nitpicks (the third act drama was a little over the top), but it was the kind of read that made my husband stop and go, are you almost done with that, didn’t you just start reading that today?! Here’s to Moonstruck and everything bagels and bearing witness to some stranger’s worst moment on the subway.

This was an enjoyable rom com about 2 people who have a meet cute on the NYC subway. Frankie and Hayes were likable but a little predictable. Supporting characters were good. I thought the conflict at one point wasn't at all believable in terms of motivation. Enjoyed the NYC setting

A total love letter to the city (and, once again, the Q train) and an homage to Nora Ephron romcoms, this was charming albeit chaste romance. I really wish it had been at least a bit steamier--everything happens behind closed doors. It has almost all the components (an extremely embarrassing meet-cute, NYC references, fun & supportive best friend characters, etc) of a really great romcom and it got a ton of blurbs from big name romance writers but it felt a little flat. I think mostly because Hayes Montgomery III is pretty boring. He never fully develops as a character. It’s disappointing! That being said, the story--and Franny--are so charming and fun that I can almost overlook Hayes’s dullness.

This novel was practically a love letter to New York and as someone who has never been it made me want to go!!! Also one of the most disastrous meet cutes I have ever read!! Francesca and Hayes keep running into each other in this city of millions of people and have a bunch of shippers online pushing their nonexistent relationship! Ensue hilarity and great flirtatious banter. I will say my only qualm is how long it took for the MCs to actually get together but all in all a quick great read!

I don't know what it is about summer but pool season makes me want to read romances and thrillers - I've been lacking on the thrillers this year. After the most embarrassing meet-cute goes viral, Franny and Hayes keep running into each other. This is a cute, light romance filled with fun banter. It made me want to start planning my next trip to NYC!

I was immediately rooting for the characters in this book, and Kate Spencer's voice is lovely. Looking for more of her work for sure!

In a New York Minute was exactly what I needed to read today. A sweet love story set in a city I love to read about. The characters were sweet, I loved the meet cute, and even the "dramatic moment" didn't make me want to pull my hair out too much. This was the perfect summer read!

I'm not much for the rom-com genre, so this book was a bit out of my wheelhouse. I wasn't expecting to love it (and I didn't), but I didn't hate it, either. It seemed a little too trite for me - fun meet-cute between quirky girl and straight-laced boy, hate-to-love plot with some mis-communication (but not as much as I feared), and a somewhat charming cast of supporting characters (who, if I'm being honest, were more interesting than the main characters).

What I enjoyed the most however, was the presentation of New York City itself. The author did a (presumably) great job in her descriptions of the buildings, the parks, the neighbourhoods, and the overall energy of the city. I say presumably because I have spent all of perhaps 10 hours in New York City, but at times while reading this book I felt like I was actually there.

I loved this sweet NYC romance! I felt like I was in the city as I was reading, and I loved Franny and Hayes!!

I received an advance copy. All thoughts are my own.

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review

While this slow burn romantic novel had plenty of cute moments, I wasn't crazy about Fran. She's a little to brazen coming off as rude and awkward. Her constant picking on Hayes began to get on my nerves but he hung in there and apparently appreciated her honesty. I did want to see more heat between them. Overall a cute romantic novel with very little heat.
