If you love romances set in New York City, you probably already have this book on your radar. If not, you absolutely should!

Starting with Franny’s worst day ever and her not-so-cute meet-cute on the subway, this book puts the comedy in romantic comedy. Franny and Hayes were hilarious and had great chemistry. Their romance was so much fun to read, and the narrators made their love story jump off the page.

I saw someone call this book a love letter to NYC, and that is so true. The descriptions of the city were beautiful! NYC may seem like a dirty place to some, but there is certainly beauty in it, and this book makes the reader feel like they’re there.

I loved Franny’s friend group. The side characters can make or break a rom com, and strong female friendships always make a romance a little better for me.

This book was sweet and fun, and I would definitely recommend it.

A very sweet and fun romantic comedy! I instantly liked the main characters and the New York City setting was detailed with such love that appealed greatly to this New Yorker! I was rooting for them to get together the whole time but the obstacles were realistic without being annoying or contrived. The friends and side characters were all interesting and funny, and the story never dragged. I enjoyed this one very much.

All the stars! I found this book to be so sweet and funny, and a true love letter to New York. The characters were nuanced and interesting, and I felt their highs and lows. In general I try not to poke too many holes into contemporary romances because they aren't meant to be literary fiction, so even though there were some characters I wanted more from, that did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the book. I'm also kind of in love with Hayes. I wish we could have learned more about his family and his life before meeting Franny, but again it didn't detract from my enjoyment. I would absolutely read more by Kate Spencer in the future.

I 100% requested this book because of the cover and I saw someone talking about it on bookstagram.
So I went into this one with no idea what it was about.
I loved the possible awkwardest meet-cute ever! I really enjoyed the characters, main and side ones, the plot and overall the storyline. I also really enjoyed following along with Franny as she discovered her roots.
I did find that the book did drag a little in the middle and the miscommunication between the 2 characters annoyed me.

But overall I did like it and thought the book was quite cute!

In a New York Minute by Kate Spencer is a cute story based in New York City. Can Franny's day get any worse? She get's fired from work and has a wardrobe malfunction on the subway and is rescued by Hayes. Their video goes viral and they are the Subway QTs. Granny and Hayes connect again after they are interviewed by new channels. They end up spending more time together when their friends fall in love. How they end up falling in love forms the premise of the story.

I loved all the NYC references in the book. Franny and Hayes were sweet but I wish their relationship building was worked on a little more. The reasoning for them being apart seemed weak. It took me a very long time to finish reading this book. Overall, a nice read.

Thank you Forever Pub for sending me this ARC.

Gah, I LOVED this book!! It is such a meet-cute, adorable story. I absolutely loved the characters and found them to be a delight. The shenanigans that ensued had me laughing out loud so often my husband asked if I was ok. It was witty, fresh, and FUN. I truly loved every single minute of this lovely book. 4.5 ⭐️

Thank you Netgalley and publisher for an ARC of this book.

Let me say I absolutely loved this book. As a person who has been to NYC many times i was definitely able to picture places in this book.

I really enjoyed Franny and Hayes story. Franny is having one of the worst days of her life and was laid off of her job.. On her way home she takes the subway and her dress gets caught in the door and rips down the back. The kindness of a stranger comes to her aid, Hayes and offers her his suit coat to cover herself. The story continues to have Franny and Hayes continue to run into each other and they eventually start spending more time together and start to fall for one another. This story also proves opposites attract!

I loved the meet cute of this, the idea of Franny and Hayes being so different and having the kind of meeting that you can't help but think about...possibly not fondly.

Unfortunately, I never really warmed up to Hayes. This made it difficult to feel really invested in the story as I never was really on board with the idea of the relationship between them.

I am unable to recommend this title.

AHHH this is just what my heart needed. I thought this was such a cute book that had me swooning over the romance. I loved their "meet cute" and the way their chance meeting went viral. Hayes comes off so grumpy and rude in the beginning and i love the way his character develops through the book. Franny is so realistic and relatable - we're all a mess sometimes lol. The ending and how everything came together was so well written and overall I really enjoyed the read, I would highly recommend.

This book makes me smile. Hayes Montgomery the Third and Franny Doyle have the meet cute to end all meet cutes. It takes place on the subway in NYC where Hayes proves that chivalry is not dead. And then they go their separate ways. Except the meet cute went viral and they keep getting thrown together. Could it be meant to be?

This is a slow burn, opposites attract adorable romance. I loved the pacing- the book spans several months, has a couple other storylines (family, work), and feels real. It’s also an homage to New York City; you can feel the love the author has for the city (and she talks about it in the forward). Another bonus are Hayes and Franny’s friends- I want to hang out with all of them. It was a perfect, relaxing, enjoyable weekend read.

I want to say thank you for this gifted copy of In A New York Minute. This book had a lot of potential for me at first, but unfortunately I found it to be a major flop. It had some cute parts, but I was incredibly bored the entire time.

Franny meets Hayes in the most New York way possible — in a classic meet disaster when her dress gets caught in closing subway doors and rips open. Hayes gives Franny his jacket and the whole thing goes viral. Further entanglements ensue when the press take notice of their story. It’s like a twenty-first century Nora Ephron movie in novel form— tender, clever and laugh out loud funny, a tribute to friendship as well as romantic love. This romantic comedy is great for fans of Alexis Daria, Christina Lauren, and Jasmine Guillory.

This felt like the literal literary embodiment of a Nora Ephron which I am pretty sure was the point. It made me miss New York real bad.

I actually liked the second half more because it felt like the characters really settled into themselves and for once, the pacing of this was just right, although the third act conflict was annoying but then they usually are. I loved Hayes as a character and honestly would have liked the whole thing just from his point of view, but maybe mostly because I hated reading the name Franny so much.

Would 10/10 recommend.

As a long time Forever 35 listener, I could hear Kate's voice in my head while reading this, which made it that much more enjoyable! Perfect for those who enjoy a "will they won't they" romcom, while also pinpointing the specific struggle and exhilaration NYC can be in your 20's. (Especially loved the Catbird Williamsburg mention!) Thank you to #NetGalley for my copy.

I loved this new release from Kate Spencer! NYC is the perfect backdrop for romcoms, and this one had the most amazing meet-cute to rival all meet-cutes!

Franny is having a rough day when she meets Hayes. He is a little cold in the beginning but I quickly warmed up to him. This was an enjoyable romance that went a little deeper.

Great slow burn rom-com, great female frienships. A winner! Franny is a character to root for and Hayes is a great foil to her.

I'm not a huge romcom fan, but sometimes, I just need a little fluff to get my reading game back on track.

I still think Meet Me In The Margains is one of the best romcom's, so every time I see a bright, cheerful cover, I'm hoping to enjoy a book just the same.

Unfortunately, such was not the case here.

I found this book very slow. Towards the 60% mark, I just wanted to be done. There were some parts of the story that seemed superfluous and I never really connected to the main characters as a couple.

The cheese factor was definitely there, although it didn't bother me too much. I just found things too 🥱🥱🥱 for this to be a hit for me.

This was such a great contemporary romance! It made me laugh, and it made me swoon, and I loved the characters. Overall, I would definitely recommend it!

I received an e-ARC from the publisher.
