Just for the Holidays
Perla and Gael
Adriana Herrera
In this Latinex love story, casting agent Perla has come to try to talk Hollywood heartthrob Gael to work on her company’s movie. Because of their past relationship and how he broke her heart, this ‘ask’ is hell for her. Gael resists the part because of the horrid way he broke up with her and he still feels guilty. But he also yearns for this particular part of a lifetime. Then they get snowed in and enter a fake relationship to please his mother. But the fake reminds both of the love they shared and the relationship starts to become real. There are so many hurdles- can they be overcome?
Perla and Gael are engaging, real and well written characters. You can feel their pain, their longing for one another. This love story flows naturally, bringing us along with the angst but also the hope. I would recommend this book to my patrons.

Sweet, cute, and hot sexy spicy sexy hot! Did it get warm in here? No? Just me?

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

A sweet and smoldering second chance romance -- I really liked Perla and Gael together, and while I always enjoy a snowed-in forced-proximity story, I really enjoyed the presence of Gael's sister, mom, and grandmother here too. A fabulous holiday treat that I'll definitely be recommending to patrons and discussing in our holiday romance roundup.

Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review.

I was pleased to see a book with Latinx characters, but ultimately the book wasn't for me. After a certain point, when I still cared nothing for the characters and found myself groaning at the reputation and continued mentioning of the leads' looks, I decided to move on.
