A little bit predictable! But a great book. I like how it captured the different characters and was a reflection of the world today. It was still suspenseful. Written well. Great dialogue and well-rounded characters

Killer Content definitely shows the obsession with social media we have and not just the good parts. There are a group of six teenagers living together in a house in Malibu. Gwen, Sydney, Cami, Kat, Beau, and Tucker are all TikTok stars. They decided to see if they could increase their following (and income) by living together for a summer. They post group videos and have parties. It's all fun until one of them ends up dead in the pool. Sydney was rich and popular. Her twin sister, Brooklyn, didn't have the same star power. When the group decided that Brooklyn couldn't move in, Sydney got pissed an left. A couple days later, her body was found at the house. Each of the kids becomes a suspect in the murder. Videos were being posted from their account, so it had to be one of them. While they are friends, they also turn on each other at times. No one knows who to trust.

The pacing of the book was great and it was hard to put down. I really enjoyed reading this one.

I gave this 4 stars. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my earc.

This book was so fun and mysterious! I read it so quickly. I loved the cast of characters and the writing was so funny and witty. The author had a strong authentic gen z voice and was well versed in pop culture

I am reviewing a copy of Killer Content through Random House Children’s and NetGalley:

Lit Lair is a group of six teenagers, who have it made. They have a beachfront mansion, millions of followers, stunning good looks, and sponsorship deals worth more money than they ever dreamed. The six teenagers live together making videos about their perfect lives.

But after one of then turn up dead in the infinity pool it’s not so perfect. When the groups Tik Tok account starts posting Cryptic messages, the police stop looking outside the house for suspects. And the police start to look straight at them. Everyone at Lit Lair had reasons their lives would be easier without Sydney.

But only one of them killed her.

I give Killer Content five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

Fast-paced and captivating, 'Killer Content' was so good that I didn't want to put it down. Chapters flew by as I devoured the events of the hours after Sydney's death, and eventually learned details about the days leading up to it, and how each remaining member of the house came to have a motive. Chapters and narrators are clearly marked, as each person from the Lit Lair collab house shed light on what happened, the friendships and relationships between them all, and the lavish lifestyle they lead while in their beach front Malibu mansion.

Killer Content had a great premise, and I think the beginning had some strong aspects. However, when I was able to guess the twist early, I struggled to continue working my way through the story. Initially, I thought the twist wouldn't be that obvious, but the further I went into the book, the more convinced I was until I ultimately skipped forward to confirm. At that point, I skimmed the rest of the story. I wanted to like this one, but I'm sorry to say I just didn't. Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher for letting me give this one a go!

I haven't posted this review anywhere at this point.

Influencers all living in one house together- nothing can go wrong, right?

It's literally all fun and games until someone dies. Now the housemates are all under suspicion and can't seem to prove their innocence after a member of the house is found dead in the pool.

I enjoyed this book until the final quarter when the story become a little disjointed. It felt as though Roache needed to cut some scenes and forgot to change things that referred back to the cut portions.

Overall, it was a decent book, just not quite as skilled in execution as I would like as a reader.

This was certainly a fun time, and the comps to Karen McManus and the like are spot-on. However, this book did make me realize that I prefer YA thrillers that focus on more 'everyday' teens rather than famous and/or influencer teens...but as usual, that's much more a me issue than the book, which does a great job depicting the shallowness (or, occasionally, comparative depth) of these tik-tok celebrities.

This book has many twists and turns. It was riveting and thrilling. Finished the book in about 2 days after a 2 month reading slump.

This one is definitely for fans of One of Us Is Lying and Knives Out. It’s a fun, entertaining thriller about Tik Tok Influences who live in one house together Big Brother or Real World Style.

Most characters are assumed white. There is some LGBTQ+ representation. Most characters have some redeemable qualities, but do seem a bit 2-dimensional. It’s a good thriller that held my attention the whole time. Will recommend.

I got the ARC off of Netgalley, these opinions are my own. I’ve only recently started to follow the whole social media influencers so I book about influencers and murder I am very much there! This book did not disappoint, I couldn’t put it down! I love how Kiley Roache wrote a book about such complex characters that I want to say the reader may love to hate! And the concept of “frenemies” was very utilized in this book! Gwen, Cami, Kat, Beau, and Tucker were all both interesting and maddening to read prospectives from! They were all in their own way good people but also selfish and shallow at the same time! The first part of the book is your who done it and then a twist is thrown in and all of a sudden your in a how situation. I was a little unsure how I wanted this one to end, there was the logical ending but part of me wasn’t sure if I wanted that to happen! It helped make the book more intriguing because I couldn’t wait to see how it all played out! I’ll be excited to read this one again!

This was way more fun than I expected it to be. She does give away the twist a little early, and not every character is super relatable (occasionally I had to go back to the beginning of the chapter to check who I was hearing from), but, inasmuch as this clearly wasn't designed to be poignant social commentary, it is a pretty good time.
