I played this story for my niece's bedtime story and they loved hearing about how mermaids live and their many adventures. A cute short story for kids of all ages, it's definitely one we'll be reading again.

Such a cute story of a little girl who faces her fear of the ocean water. I like the simplicity and the realism of it taking something she treasured (her bracelet) to get tossed into the waves for her to go under and conquer her fear. Lots of times it takes a person or something we value that pushes us out of our comfort zone to step into the deep unknown and magical.

Format: audiobook
Author: Linne Halpern ~ Title: Marina and the Memaids ~ Narrator: Kae Denino
Content: 4 stars ~ Narration: 4 stars

Marina fears the ocean, and she learns how to deal with this. This is a short story. It is eight minutes long, so it is suitable for younger children. The narration is wonderful, and I liked the music additions in the narration. I expect younger children, especially girls, will love this.

Thanks to the OrangeSky Audio for the ARC and the opportunity to listen to this! All opinions are my own.

Thanks to Netgalley and OrangeSky Audio for the AudioARC of this in exchange for my honest review.

A cute story about a little girl who loves mermaids and the water but struggles to overcome a fear of the ocean. She adores a bath time and practices her kicks, but it isn’t until she loses something special in the water that she takes the plunge to go in the ocean. Helps kids see that facing your fears isn’t always so bad!

*** AUDIO BOOK VERSION ***
Marina and the Mermaids is a beautifully told children's story about a little girl called Marina who adores Mermaids but is afraid of swimming and the ocean.
Her mum takes her for a day at the beach which Marina is worried about but her fears begin to dissipate as she has fun there and she begins to enjoy the sea and swimming much more.
This was a short audio but the perfect length for its intended audience.

This is a sweet story about a young girl who is afraid to swim in the ocean. My 3 year old and I enjoyed listening to this short story and cheering Marina on as she overcomes her fears and learns to believe in herself. The narrator does a wonderful job keeping the story engaging and interesting for adults and children. Would love to read this again as a book with illustrations.

What a lovely little story this was! My 5 year old son enjoyed Marina's adventure at the sea. I really loved the narration style, the pace that was suited for children's listening. Marina's day at the beach helps her to overcome her fears & inhibitions and swim like a mermaid!

This is a very short children's audiobook about a girl called Marina who visits the ocean and learns how to overcome her fear of going in the water. Her day out moves from feeling fearful to feeling happy and she has a fun adventure. My daughter and I enjoyed listening to the story and the narrator was very good.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and Net Galley for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

...
thanks a lot to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read a copy of this book, to the author as well.

fist i wanna say something, i've not get it if Marina found the mermaids or not. i was lost, therefore i don't know if only she was finding some live inside the sea. She doesn't like pool because it hasn't animals or plants inside. it has not nothing, just water.

that's fun because go to the pool is cooler than do nothing, but a private pool. such as impossible for me right now.

i liked but it's regular, thus i give... because the narrator was good, so that's make increase the rate to this book.

The narrator makes this book fun to listen to. The ocean is big and scary. This book describes how Marina dissolves her fears and swims big.

A short and cute story with in which a young girl overcomes her fear about the ocean. Without giving away the ending, the way she overcame her fears was very relatable for both children and adults. The narrator provided an energetic performance which helped the 4 year-old I listened with stay engaged in the story.

We all have fears, and they can be difficult to overcome, and sometimes they are right in front of you. Enter, the ocean. The ocean can be overwhelming due to its size and what about all the things you can’t see that the ocean houses? I can relate to Marina as I am afraid of the vastness of the ocean and the fact that I can’t see the bottom. I not only enjoyed following Marina on her journey, but I also felt the narrator did a fabulous job as well. The only thing that would have made the audio better would have been some background sound effects like waves crashing, water splashing, etc. I would have liked the images to go along with this story, but I can appreciate the opportunity for me to create the pictures in my mind myself. It would be a wonderful opportunity for youngsters to draw their own illustrations to go along with the story as they listen.

This is the story of Marina who lives near the ocean but is afraid of swimming in it. This cute book is about her working on this fear. It was a fun book to listen to and the narrator was delightful. There were a few times that I felt like having the illustrations to go with the audio would have been helpful. Overall, a lovely book for little ones who have some apprehension about water.

This is a cute story about a little girl that loves mermaids, but is afraid to go in the ocean. It would be so much more enjoyable for children if there were pictures to go south the story.
