Such a great book with beautiful illustrations! I am looking forward to snagging a copy in print to read with my kids, and I think it would be a great option for homeschooling parents to share with their kids as well.

I liked the simplicity and visuals of this book. The storyline was hard to follow since it jumps right into Thailand, but otherwise, the book was good.

"Bodhi Sees the World: Thailand" by Marisa Aragón Ware is a wonderful introduction to Thailand and all of the sights and sounds that come with Bodhi's first international adventure.

This book was a trip around the world for me. I have to give credit to the illustrator who truly made this book come alive, although the words were also extremely descriptive, and literally made my mouth water. As an adult, I learned so much about Thailand simply from the first two pages. I love that the story also has some hidden lessons interwoven in the introduction to a new place. I would read this in an elementary classroom (probably Grade 2-4). Very sweet!

Bodhi is one lucky girl. She is on a plane with her mother and they are soaring off to Bangkok, Thailand. She invites you to travel along with her as she explores, discovers, and appreciates a new country and its vibrant culture.

" The city is a symphony of noises with horns beeping, engines roaring, and people speaking Thai."

One of the sites she and her mom visit is the beautiful golden temple where she sits very still and calms her mind from all the surrounding hustle and bustle. Bodhi reflects on her amazing adventure and comes to the conclusion that Thailand is much the same as her own homeland. She is surrounded with beautiful trees and greenery, kids that love to run and play games just like her, and that everyone's happy smile translates into friendly people who are welcoming her to their country. Bodhi feels very much at home now and senses that this too is where she belongs.

The book lists facts and information regarding the important landmarks and places that Bodhi and her mother visit, including the Emerald Buddha, the Grand Palace, the Chao Phraya River, and the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Also included is an educational and fun page of greetings and phrases in Thai to learn. I love the book and highly recommend it.

Young readers are invited to come to Thailand with Bodhi. When she first arrives, Bodhi is overwhelmed and wants to go home. Children watch her take her first tentative steps in this new place. She comes to very much enjoy the sights and the people.

This book is a good one. It shows the importance of exposure to new cultures and teaches something about the country Bodhi is visiting. The illustrations are brightly colored and add to the book’s visual appeal.

Included are a number of Seek and Finds. For each, information is provided beneath the picture. For example, beneath a sea creature is stated “The colorful and territorial Siamese fighting fish is Thailand’s national aquatic animal.” This mans that, in addition to having fun, children will learn something as they look through this title. There is also additional information about Bangkok.

All in all, this is a nice book. I hope that Bodhi will have more adventures.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Thank you to the publisher, author, illustrator and NetGalley for providing a copy in exchange for honest feedback. I thoroughly enjoyed this young reader's book focusing on Bodhi's trip through Thailand. Even as an older reader (hehe!), I learned quite a bit. I loved the inclusion of the language tips. The illustrations are vibrant and very visually appealing. I loved the educational value provided and would like to see this as a series. Really opens the mind for young people to learn about the world, regardless of where they are right now!

Great book, would recommend for libraries, classrooms, or parents to buy for their kids.

This is a cute picture book which is apparently part of a series about a girl visiting famous cities around the world. In this case, it is Thailand, and she gets to visit famous buildings there such as the Wat Phra Kaew that houses the giant Emerald Buddha. We also get to hear common phrases in Thai, which are translated at the back of the book.

Bright, colorful pictures, with info about the places she visits, int he back of the book as well.

Very informative and entertaining.

Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.
