Wuthering Heights is one of my favorite classics and even though I love how beautifully it is written I sometimes want to enjoy the story without needing to dive into the old language.
This one was absolutly perfect for this occasion. I could enjoy the story I love in a language way easier and I absolutly loved the illustrations throughout the book

This is a lovely modified version of Wuthering Heights intended to make the story more comprehensible to young readers.

It’s a good adaptation for those looking to get young ones into the classics at an age when they’re not quite capable of reading the real thing just yet. Because it caters specifically to a young audience, it’s a much better alternative than a typical abridged version, since it makes the text more palatable rather than just cutting and shortening for volume.

I don’t recommend using this to substitute for the real thing to get through the book faster (you’ll lose a lot of what’s important about Bronte’s novel both in the details and its place in Classic Literature. But it’s a lovely way for young readers to get acquainted with one of history’s most significant novels.

I did not enjoy reading this book at all! The writing is very old-fashioned and the plot is very confusing. I’m sure its supposed to be a retelling with similar to different themes to the original but I just didn’t understand and like the entire thing

I love love love Wuthering Heights so much. I’ve read the original so many times, because it just means so much to me. When I saw that there was an easy version of the book, I was intrigued, because despite my love for Wuthering Heights, I can’t deny that the writing is difficult.
That’s why Easy Classics are perfect for people who really want to read these books, but can’t get through the original. Easy Classics makes the classics more accessible, which is important! It might be adapted for children, but I think it could be read by people of all ages trying to get into the classics.

“Many years ago, a young homeless boy was taken in at Wuthering Heights. Older now, Heathcliff is set on revenge, and destroying everybody around him.

And there is a lonely ghost roaming the moors, who is determined to be reunited with her lover …”

Stephanie Baudet returns to children's literature with another incredible concept and that is the adaptation of Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights.

I absolutely love Baudet's concept along with Arianna Bellucci's wonderful illustrations that introduce some true classics of British literature to a new generation. The tales are written for the 8-11 age range and are done in such a way that the young reader has a fantastic story to read, I love the Brontës and have since childhood so I should apologise for my gushing but I won't!

These books are a must for any primary school to encourage children in learning these famous tales and to fall in love with stories that have survived centuries. I love that Sweet Cherry Publishing also includes a QR code that gives you the option to listen to the story but perhaps Wuthering Heights isn't one for before bedtime unless you want to dream of a ghost tapping on your bedroom window!

I truly hope there will be more than these two but if not, I can't wait for what Baudet will give us next.

A really good version of the classic to get younger audiences into these books. This is quite a dark storyline and I’m not sure how many children would actually enjoy it but I can’t fault the narrative it kept to the plot line and kept it simple.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with this copy for review.

This illustrated adaptation of Wuthering Heights for young readers left me with mixed feelings.

On one hand, I am very glad that this book exists and that it will be available to ease younger readers into this classic. The illustrations are complementary and the book follows the same flow as the original text.
However, I found the prose and the storytelling rather lacking. One of the greatest qualities of Bronte’s book is the bewitching and beautiful prose. In this book, it has been substituted by direct and clunky sentences that have no flow and, more than anything, dumb down the plot while leaving very little to the imagination. This form of writing devoid the reader from any enjoyment in the text itself and leaves only a sort of retelling and narrating of the plot.

Having said this, even though I often read children’s and middle-grade fiction, I am an adult reader who is very familiar with the original, I am far from the target audience.

This edition is easy to read and follow and does a fantastic job telling the story for a children's audience. I loved how simple the story is and how it doesn't change the original plot. The illustrations are also very nice and add to the book.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I didn't much care for the original version, and this one didn't change my mind. I have no idea why anyone does anything in this story, and I don't think that I can convince any of the kids to read it.

This is the first Sweet Cherry children’s adaptation of a classic that I have read. As a vastly abbreviated version-a summary of the novel really- this telling may be useful as a prelude or refresher for young adults before encountering the full novel. As a children’s story, I believe it maybe a hard sell.

This children’s adaptation of Wuthering Heights tells the tragic love story of Catherine and Heathcliff. Heathcliff was brought to Wuthering Heights as a child, after Mr. Earnshaw found him on the streets. Cathy and Heathcliff quickly became friends and fell in love. However, many things drew them apart. Now, years later, Heathcliff is devastated by Catherine’s untimely death and is waiting for the day that he can join her again.

This was a great, condensed version of Wuthering Heights. When I first read the original in high school, I had a difficult time figuring it out. I’ve read it many times since then, and I know the story very well. This simpler version could help modern readers, either adults or children, to understand the story.

I liked the illustrations that went along with the story. The only part that I found inconsistent with the original story was that Heathcliff had the same skin colour as the other characters. Multiple times throughout the story he is described as having dark skin, so I wish this was depicted in the illustrations of the story.

This Wuthering Heights adaptation is a great way to learn this classic story.

Thank you Sweet Cherry Publishing for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I come to the conclusion that I’m not the right audience for this book. I felt that the narrative was choppy and lacked the classic feel.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher/author for providing the arc

Wuthering Heights is a hard book to get through, like really hard. I remember reading it in high school and after each chapter, I would read spark notes so I knew that the heck was going on. These easy classic series is perfect for young people who want to read classics but feel intimidated or overwhelmed and don't know where to start. I loved the illustrations and the story was easy to understand.

I enjoyed this condensed version of Wuthering heights. It was enjoyable. I haven't read Wuthering heights before, but this version has inspired me to read the full story. I have gotten into classic books latllelyband I love that little they are being introduced to younger readers as well.
