Eeek. I loved this book! I was a big fan of Hannah in It Happened One Summer, and I was very excited when I found out she was getting her own story. I think if you loved It Happened One Summer, you’ll love this book! Hannah is a bit more relatable to me (than Piper, although I loved her too), and you see a lot of her self-growth in this story. I was cheering her on from start to finish. Fox is rugged, charming, and not what you expect. This book was pretty steamy, it was funny and straight-up addicting.
Thank you @netgalley and @avonbooks for the eARC in exchange for my honest review. You guys made my bookstalife for getting to read this so soon. Hook Line and Sinker comes out 3/1/22, but i’m sure you’ll see and hear more about this book before then!

so cute! this book hit, normally friends to lovers doesn’t do it for me BUT it definitely did in this book <3
I love how Hannah was such a ride-or-die for all the people she cared about but wasn't a pushover/doormat type of character, ugh truly a leading lady :;)!
Tiktok review to come hehehe <3

I loved the story of Hannah & Fox so much!! I can’t wait for the physical copy to be out in the world next year.
I really felt like Hannah’s story was more compelling then Piper’s, but that’s because I just felt like I related to her more, I think. I loved Fox. He was 100% someone I’d fall for.
There were some moments I wanted to really shake him for how he saw himself, but Hannah took no sh*t and basically shook him for us so he could see the worth in himself.
I liked that music played an important part in this story and where Piper’s connection to their father was the restaurant and re-polishing it, Hannah’s connection was about the music. I also felt like Hannah learned a lot about herself over the course of the story, and Fox learned about himself as well and how he could be in relationships. I also liked the scenes we got with his mom.
Overall, a great read I enjoyed the cast of characters and being back in Westport. It’s such a quaint, warm little town and I would like to read more stories set there, but I’m not sure if there will be anymore in this series.

Overall this was a fun and romantic book, I fully enjoyed it. There are two main plots, one follows Hannah and Fox's relationship and the other focuses on Hannah's job and finding her true self. I appreciate all the music references, brand, and song names.
Romance monologues were so well written, they left me with "aaawww" and melted heard. I did not like the intimate scenes. They felt flat and all that talking was so fake and unrealistic, it made me roll my eyes multiple times. I understand why the author went with this style, matching it to Fox's personality. But it felt so staged, I could never believe this was real.
Character development was interesting to follow and the epilogue was very fun. The moose scene was on point and completed the book on a high note.

Loved this one even more than It Happened One Summer. So much heart. I loved watching Fox and Hannah figure themselves out. This is a slow-burn but it was so good. Fox made me cry more than once. Watching Hannah become more confident, figuring out her place in the world, and Fox overcome all of his fears was so heartwarming. This book just made me feel.

Thank you to Avon and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
My hearrrrrrrrrt!
I’m in love with Hannah and Fox. And that’s not just because I stan a good friends to lovers and forced proximity. They are so damn cute together and I just swooned at their realization that they love each other and that they could be better individuals…together.
This book is sweet and hot and the dirty talk is top shelf and much more well placed than in It Happened One Summer.
My biggest complaint was the epilogue? It wrapped everything up TOO neatly for me. But c’est la vie, I suppose.

I received a copy of this from Netgalley!
I absolutely loved this romance! It was everything I needed out of a romance novel. I loved Fox and Hannah. Their friendship and connection felt genuine and I found myself rooting for them from the start. The self reflection by each character was great to read and pushed the plot forward. I finished this book in about two days because I couldn’t stop reading it! I’d highly recommend it!

I absolutely loved “It happened one summer” so I was stoked when I got approved for “Hook, Line and Sinker.”
I really enjoyed Hannah and Fox as characters in the first book.
Although this wasn’t 🌶 spicy!!!🌶 like the first book, I genuinely loved the relationship that Fox & Hannah had from the start. I did however have higher hopes for the spice level. So if you were hoping for that, I’m sorry! ( Its me, I was looking for that.)
Fox is a playboy, and didn’t want to ruin his reputation after he realized he was falling for Hannah, and ultimately was keeping her in the friend zone.
For fans of ; friends to lovers & slow burns.
Pub date : 03/01/2022!

Thank you NetGalley and Avon Books for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
5/5 stars
I will be recommending this book to all my friends! I loved it. Hannah and Fox were perfect for each other. And I loved their journey.
Hannah wasn’t sure what she wanted in life. She was afraid to go after what she wanted and was okay just being on the sidelines. I loved watching her grow and become more sure in her decisions.
Fox was the typical playboy. That was his reputation and he had to live up to it. He had some trauma from his childhood where he thought that was all he was good for. I loved watching him realize his worth.
Together Fox and Hannah were the perfect duo. It wasn’t instalove. Fox showed he loved her with actions and not just words. Hannah stood up for him (and fought for him) rather than running. Which I absolutely loved. Their dynamic was witty and sexy.
Overall I will probably read this book again and again. It was just the perfect feel good love story.

First of all, I really love Tessa Bailey, and loved the first and this series, and was super excited to read this one. I did like Fox and Hannah’s chemistry. but this book took we a while to get through, really until about halfway through i felt it was super slow, but once it picked up i did enjoy it, and it was super cute and hot

I’m actually really surprised by this book and how much I loved it. I had started getting curious about Fox and Hannah’s story while reading It Happened One Summer, but Hannah didn’t stand out to me in that book. That’s what worried me going into this book, but I didn’t need to because Hannah could hold her own. I really liked how they’re wasn’t any unnecessary drama in this, there was a little bit with the director but that’s cleared up and not too big a deal. The characters are very mature, and they actually seem to talk things out like adults do. Compared to the first book this one is so much better and the characters have so much more chemistry. Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC

Thank you to Avon for providing me with a DRC of this title via NetGalley!
Tessa Bailey has received many rave reviews, especially for her latest title, "It Happened One Summer", which is the first book in the series that this title, "Hook, Line, and Sinker" is part of. I hadn't read "It Happened One Summer" before diving into this book, although I don't think it's absolutely necessary to read the first book first (but maybe I would get to know the other characters more and have a better background on Hannah and Fox).
"Hook, Line, and Sinker" is a friends-to-lovers story. Fox has a reputation of being a ladies' man, always down for a good time but never staying long enough to form any type of relationship. No one takes him seriously and even the crew members he works with don't respect him as a potential captain. This is perpetuated by his own feelings of self-worth: Fox believes he's no good for serious, long-term relationships because of people pushing his masculinity on him and referring to him as the "hall pass" and the guy who sleeps around.
When Fox meets Hannah, they become quick friends, and Hannah helps him open up about his insecurities and encouraging him that he can be a leader and is worthy of respect. Hannah has similar insecurities about always being in the background and never the "leading lady".
This book had a lot of angst, and while I did like Hannah and Fox's relationship, and how their friendship was always their number one concern (even with the tension and steam between them throughout the entire book), I was a little disappointed with the character and plot development around these 2. I never felt too connected to any of the characters, and the conflicts never seemed too pressing. I think the setting could have been fleshed out more too - I wanted to see more of Westport and its people besides the two leads and some passing scenes with the other characters.

i cant even write a long review, i cant put it into words how much i adore hannahfox relationship. and talking about perfect last chapter and ending. yeah i cried.
they serve strangers/annoyances to text buddies to forced proximity to friends to lovers with angst, its so so good, everyone please come here to hannahfox’s diaries they have everything you want!

This book was super good and fun! I could tell from book one that they would get their story and this did not disappoint! The chemistry was there and though my favorite is not "reformed playboy", I fell for it in this story. I think the characters had great chemistry and understood each other. Its a nice slow burn.

Hook, Line, and Sinker is the companion book to It Happened One Summer. This book focuses on Hannah (Piper’s sister) and Fox (Brendan’s boat mate) and their journey.
I loved the balance of character development and spice this book provided. Hannah and Fox both had their own journeys and those journeys led to their combined journey.
At first I was afraid it was going to go too much of Hannah trying to change Fox, but you soon realize she is empowering him and just wants him to see in himself what she sees in him. I loved that Fox was written with major insecurities that he is trying to mask because I think it is probably something that is going to resonate with so many readers, I also can’t wait to see how male readers react to this storyline. The plot looks into expectations men may feel due to reputations or the ways others perceive them.
Hannah’s journey resonated with me in her trying to find herself professionally and also her desire to try to become “the leading lady” for once. These are mental obstacles many people go through and I loved how Hannah began to pave her own journey.
Combined I think we all saw the chemistry between these two forming in It Happened One Summer so it was nice to learn more about them, especially Fox.
In the end this may be 4.5 stars only because I wish we got more Hannah/Piper interaction. I know we got their sisterly development in Piper’s story but I just felt like there were moments in this book where Hannah would have leaned in Piper but we didn’t get to see it. But that’s a very small criticism.
Ultimately Tessa Bailey has done it again and everyone should be ready for this in March 2022.

I am already anticipating being in the minority here. The previous book by Tessa Bailey was not my favorite but I trudged forward because I don't know how to put down a book and the hype was consuming, However, this couple was teased and I was intrigued...I'm a sucker for friends to lovers. This book definitely will win others over like it's companion, even I was sucked into the world with the vivid town descriptions, but I think Tessa Bailey's writing and mostly pacing just is not for me. The conflict and the last 100 pages just really wore me out. My favorite part of this book was the hero's internal struggle, it felt very flushed out and real to me yet I don't feel like I have read it before. This book will be so successful and I am excited for people to get their hands on it, it just wasn't for me!

Firstly, thank you to Avon and NetGalley for the ARC!
The second book in the Bellinger Sisters series had a lot to live up to, given how much I enjoyed the first. I can happily note, “Hook, Line, and Sinker” did not disappoint! In fact, I rather enjoyed Hannah’s book more than Piper’s.
The romantic buildup between Hannah and Fox was a bit slower, as they started out as friends, letting their relationship progress into more over the course of a year+. Because of this, I found their rapport to be a lot sweeter, and certainly more believable.
The romance works even better thanks to how likeable Hannah and Fox are. Hannah is the same sweet, hippie girl we saw in the first book. She might be tentative when it comes to fighting for career opportunities, but when it comes to those she loves, she fiercely defends them.
It became evident that Fox needed a girl like that in his life, having been perhaps unjustly labeled as a playboy and heartbreaker. He desperately needed a cheerleader in his corner, since he couldn’t rely on family or friends to reaffirm his self-worth.
Like with the first book, there is no real prolonged drama or angst in these pages, just a sweet, simmering romance that will make you smile!

I don't think I've ever requested a book here on Netgalley faster!
After reading Piper's story in the first book of this series (and falling in love with it!), I was so excited to see Hannah and Fox's story come out! To be honest, I wasn't sure if I would end up liking this book as much as the first one, but to my surprise, this one might be my favorite of the duology!
Something about both Fox and Hannah struggling to shed their very different reputations and move forward towards the goals and lives that they really want was motivational in a way that I wasn't expecting. I'm not sure if there is anyone who can say that they've never let the opinions of others or their own self-doubt get in the way of going for what they want in life, and because of that I found it so easy to root for both Fox and Hannah!
If you're a music lover, this one will also be for you as Hannah has a music recommendation for any and every scenario! It also certainly didn't hurt that this book has some seriously steamy scenes alongside the more raw, emotional ones!
The epilogue at the end set ten years in the future was a nice touch and really helped tie up both this book and the previous one!
I would definitely recommend!

<i>Thank you so much to NetGalley and HarperCollins Publishers for providing me with a eARC.<i>
When I'd first read It Happened One Summer, I absolutely loved Hannah as a character-she seemed so entertaining and her little side story with Fox seemed so promising. When they actually didn't get together, a part of me was insanely disappointed until I found out that we would, actually, be getting their story in this book.
The way Fox and Hannah's chemistry is done is so GOOD-their interactions are so fun and entertaining to read, and despite this book being far from a slowburn, the pining between the two of them is just immaculate. My personal favorite book trope has always been friends to lovers, and the way it's executed in this novel is perfect. Their banter is so well written and just FUN-you really do get to laugh as you read this book and that's something I adore.
Another thing I loved was just Hannah's dynamic as a character. I loved her growth throughout the book and the way she thinks of songs when going through events-it made reading it 10 times more fun simply because I felt a soundtrack running through my head. I thought Fox's character arc was a little cliche and silly, but the way it wraps up in the end does make it worth it.
P.S the Piper and Brendan crumbs we get are so fun. I love them so bad.
Something about Tessa Bailey's writing style is just perfect for me as a reader-she doesn't make it very wordy and seems to favor dialogue over thoughts, which I definitely prefer in romance books. This was only my second book to read by her, but I can see myself picking up the rest of her books. I genuinely can't wait for this book to hit shelves and see it in my hands, I DEVOURED it in 24 hours and have no regrets.

Tessa Bailey did a fabulous job with “Hook, Line and Sinker.” I cannot believe how good this book was! I truly couldn’t put this book down until the wee hours of the morning. I really enjoyed Hannah and Fox’s story and felt a strong connection between these two characters, and how they really seemed to belong together.
Without any spoilers, it’s good to see a male character be given the “one night stand/playboy” title and the opportunity to overcome it. At the same time, Hannah progresses from “supporting actress” to “leading lady” learns to stand up for herself and ask for what she wants. “Hook, Line and Sinker” has all the feels – laughter, tears, anger and sheer happiness. Oh, and the epilogue is just the icing on the cake! So looking forward to reading Tessa Bailey's next book!
While this is a stand-alone book, I would recommend reading It Happened One Summer before reading this.
A huge thank you to NetGalley and Avon Harper Voyager for allowing me to read this advanced digital copy in exchange for an honest opinion.
