I was really excited to get my hands on an early copy of this book and it did not disappoint! I loved It Happened One Summer and was immediately intrigued by the side characters that are now the center of Hook, Line, and Sinker. The book is about Piper's sister Hannah and Brendan's bestfriend, Fox. It was funny and sexy and I highly recommend it if your looking for a good romance book to curl up with. I love the small town setting and I hope we see more books set in Westport!

Tessa Bailey has done it again! I was incredibly grateful to be able to read an Advanced copy or Hook, Line and Sinker. I’m even more grateful now that I’ve finished reading it (in just a few hours, it was THAT GOOD), and was not disappointed. I didn’t think anything could live up to It Happened One Summer- but I honestly think I enjoyed Hook, Line and Sinker more! Is that even possible??

Following It Happened One Summer, this book is about Piper’s sister, Hannah, and Brendan’s first mate and best friend, Fox. I laughed, I cried, I got frustrated, and then I did a little happy dance when I finished the final chapter. This book is absolutely phenomenal, and a perfect way to bring everyone back into that Westport life. Pre-order this book now, because I swear you will not be disappointed when you finally read it. Highly highly recommend.

RATING: 5/5 STARS

I don't know how I've gone this long in the romance novel world without reading a Tessa Bailey book until this week! After hearing excellent things about IT HAPPENED ONE SUMMER on Goodreads and Instagram, I decided to give it a try and was instantly hooked. I love Alexis from Schitt's Creek so Piper was a fun character to read. The first book in this series was just the perfect grumpy-sunshine-trope story I needed.

But this second book was equally fantastic, if not more so! Hannah is one of the kindest and most endearing main characters I have read about. I loved how she overcame her insecurities in regards to her career while being incredibly supporting of Fox through his own struggles. And Fox had such a complex history that influenced his decisions. I was not expecting this depth to his character after meeting him in the supporting role in the first book. Tessa Bailey did such a great job with Hannah and Fox's dual POVs - she really elicits strong emotions with their story, which is a must for any good romance novel.

This book was so relatable and the relationship between the two MC's was off the charts. :) Highly recommend this one for anyone who has ever felt imposter syndrome and likes well developed friend-to-lovers stories.

A sincere thanks to NetGalley and Avon for providing an advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Incoming post with a lot of feels! Hook, Line, and Sinker just easily became one of my all time favorite romance books (maybe my favorite)! There are many reasons why: the banter, friendship, genuine care for each other, deep encouragement, romance, and more. But the reason this really hit home for me is Hannah! I have never read a contemporary and truly seen myself in the character, but Hannah is me. I want to be like her at my best, but I also feel her worries in my core. I cried in sadness and joy multiple times because I truly felt what she was feeling because I know that's how I'd feel. I feel so seen! Also, I would 100% want to be with her man! He's perfect! I know this book won't hit home for most people like it did for me, but I highly recommend It Happened One Summer and this one!

Overall this book was hilarious, moving, and there was no way I could stop reading it!

I'm not really sure why I'm so unimpressed with this one. It wasn't that it was bad, I just wasn't interested in it.

I think the only problem I can name is that this dragged a bit. We'd been told since the beginning that Fox had commitment issues, and this made that glaringly apparent. In fact, it was almost too much. Instead of making me love the characters even more, his commitment issues got old very fast. We all knew how this was going to end, so I got tired of watching Fox and Hamnah dance around it.

Other than that, there wasn't much I can say I liked or disliked about this one. It was just another mediocre romance.

Thanks to Netgalley for providing a free copy in exchange for an honest review!

As much as I loved Piper and Brendan in It Happened One Summer, when I found out Fox and Hannah were going to take the stage in Hook, Line, and Sinker, I couldn’t wait! I couldn’t get enough of them and their weird little dynamic in IHOS.

The friends to lovers trope is not normally for me but I thought this book did it so well! I was completely hooked by both Fox and Hannah’s journeys in dealing with their own insecurities and coming to terms with their attraction to each other. It’s angsty, it’s steamy and you just fall in love with how they see/respect each other. You also get a good amount of Piper’s electric energy and Brendan’s charming grumpiness!

And honestly the 10 years epilogue was the perfect cherry on top. Normally, I feel like epilogues are only a year or two in the future and don’t actually give me any real satisfaction or closure. This one does!

Also I need to find/make a playlist of their songs on Spotify - they have good taste lol. 😉

I jumped right into this digital ARC, thanks to @netgalley, after reading It Happened One Summer. I could not stop reading this book! Like to the point where my @amazonkindle went into the shower with me because I needed to shower, but wanted to read! 🤷🏻‍♀️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The story between Hannah and Fox was a slow-burn for me, but it was totally worth it! The chemistry between them was 🔥🔥🔥! A sweet friends-to-lovers story line that I couldn’t get enough of. All I know is I like Fox 100% better than Brendan from It Happened One Summer. So glad he didn’t use “honey” and “babe”. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
THIS BOOK GAVE ME ALL THE FEELS, and you have to preorder it now! It comes out March 2022, and I will def be re-reading the finished copy then!

I’ll start this review off with a big thank you to NetGalley & Avon Books for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was excited to read Fox and Hannah’s story as soon as Tessa Bailey started to hint at their relationship in It Happened One Summer. It Happened One Summer definitely set the bar high, and this book wasn’t far behind.

Fox and Hannah have such a solid friendship and their build up is friends to lovers gold. This book sucked me in from the very beginning with their cute text messages and playful banter. It was also a lot more emotional than I was expecting, and it did a great job reminding me how much words affect people. (even if they’re said in a joking way)

I really appreciated Tessa Bailey exploring *TW* slut shaming from a male’s perspective.
SPOILERS*
Fox genuinely felt like he didn’t deserve anyone’s love or respect because of his promiscuous past. It broke my heart to her him think so lowly of himself, but luckily Hannah was there to set him straight. I also enjoyed his talk with his mom + her apology.
*End of SPOILERS*

This book had me smiling and laughing the entire time. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. From Hannah’s love for music, Fox’s self love journey, and the subtle life lessons.

“You can’t live life worrying about what people will think. You’ll wake up one day, look at a calendar, and count the days you could’ve spent being happy. With her.”

Loved it. So very much, just as much as book 1. This series has a great setting and the chemistry was fantastic between Hannah and Fox.

This was amazing, just like in It Happened One Summer, I was sucked in, there were so many moments that had me smiling or laughing, and I was a sobbing mess at the end. Bailey knows how to write characters you can’t help but care and cheer for. If you need a rom-com to give you all the feels, definitely reach for this series.

Thanks to NetGalley I am officially a Tessa Bailey Stan account. I tore through this book in a matter of hours, I honestly couldn't stop reading it. It was addictive and led me to planning out when I am going to buy and read the rest of Tessa Bailey's books. SPEAKING OF WHICH, I had no clue this was a second book until I was a few chapters in. Needless to say I did buy the first book and I will be starting that today.

I liked Hannah's character, a lot. I feel she's a character a lot of people can relate to. She kind, and she seems and oof meek at first but she is such a force. Someone who feels like the supporting role, but wants so bad to be a main character. I know I felt that way just last week, and watching Hannah go for the things she wanted made me want to grab life by the reigns and just take over my life.

Poor sweet Fox. I'm obsessed with that man. He is the ultimate "I can fix him" but the difference is he wants fixing. I was obsessed with him and Hannah from the first 3 pages. Fox has been a certain way his whole life and everyone has pretty much encouraged, but Hannah makes him. want to be different and shield her from those labels and jokes.

I am giving this. a 4/5 because I can definitely see myself reading this a second time and loving it all over again. Now I'm off to star It Happened One Summer.

I’m in a Westport induced fog. Just inhaled this book in one sitting and I am honestly sad I am not still in this world with Hannah and Fox. It is friends to lovers encapsulated and perfected.

Going to build a Hannah & Fox Love playlist to stay connected and help me through this book hangover.

I typically tend to try to hold off on reading any books I'm lucky to get an ARC of until closer to the pub date, but after finishing and loving It Happened One Summer, and being super into every single Hannah/Fox interaction in that book, I needed to immediately dive into their story.

When Hook, Line, and Sinker starts, Hannah and Fox have built a solid friendship via text message in the months since she left Westport and went back to LA. When the director she works for wants a new location to shoot his new short film, Hannah suggests Westport as the perfect destination. Hannah ends up having to stay with Fox, and they both have to deal with the fact there is something more going on between them.

While It Happened One Summer was a super fun and funny romp, Hook, Line, and Sinker is much deeper and more serious across the board. This isn't a bad thing, and I love both of these books equally, but I just was not totally prepared for the emotional journey Hook, Line, and Sinker took me on. Hannah's struggles to speak up for herself and carve out a career path she could be proud of was really inspiring to read. However, what made this book so special to me was seeing Fox's internal struggles play out across this book. I've never read anything like that from a male character before and I really appreciated how Tessa Bailey wrote his story. In the hands of another author this book could have veered easily into the whole "all a bad man needs is a good woman to fix him" trope, which I hate, but I never really felt that way here. Instead, Hannah's encouragement of Fox moved me and as a result their love felt so hard-won and earned. And can we talk about that epilogue? BRB, I'm still crying about it. All in all, I'm not ready to leave Westport and the grizzled fishermen who live there but this series will be a forever fave of mine that I'll continue to revisit over and over.

Thank you SO much to the publishers and Netgalley for the early copy of Hook, Line, and Sinker. Review on my IG to come closer to pub date!

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This was the follow-up to It Happened One Summer and it did not disappoint. Hannah is back in town working on a movie crew and needs a place to stay for a few weeks. Her sister has company so she needs to stay with her BFF Fox. The first book in this series was a light and fluffy romcom. This one delved deep into the characters. Fox has always been considered a player and has a history to match. Although he has feelings for Hannah he doesn't consider himself worthy. His past is explored and we find out where the problems started. Hannah is struggling with her attachment to Westport, her deceased father, and her grandmother. She was a baby when her mother left town after her fathers death and just isn't feeling it like her elder sister. That is explored too. As a couple Fox and Hannah have flaws but their communication was excellent. Although you could read this as a standalone you will benefit from reading It Happened One Summer first. This doesn't publish until March of 2022 so you have time. I highly recommend this beautiful story.

I was so excited to be able to read this in advance because I was not ready to leave Westport at all!

Hannah and Fox. Fox and Hannah. I was so excited to read their story and it did not disappoint. It captured these two beautiful souls perfectly. I immediately loved Hannah from the get go. She's not only the best little sister, but she is everyone's hype girl. She possesses a natural talent to bring out the best in people. But of course when it comes to herself, she may need a little hype girl or boy in her corner to bring out the potential locked within herself. I absolutely loved Fox's backstory. It was not what I was expecting. There is so depth and facets to him. This story took me by surprise because I though it had more emotional depth compared to Piper and Brendans story but the pieces fit.

And omgosh the tension. We already know they were possible attracted to each other and formed this budding friendship. But I could feel the heat. The tension can be sliced, diced and chopped it didn't matter because their feeling for each other is genuine and majority of that was built on trust and communication! There were so many beautiful, memorable and heartfelt moments fueled with music and ambition! And that sweet epilogue. It was absolutely perfect and heartwarming.

I highly recommend this to anyone who loves romance, music and laughs.

hank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy!

After finishing Tessa Bailey’s first book in the series, It Happened One Summer, I knew I had to get my hands on the second. While Piper and Brendan are hot and fun and funny, I preferred the authenticity of Fox and Hannah.

I saw pieces of myself in both Hannah and Fox, which is why I think this book really moved me. Hannah is strong, stubborn, and is not afraid to be the lighthouse in the storm that is Fox Thornton. Fox is wild and unpredictable until he realizes that the narrative of being someone who sleeps around was pushed on him from the very beginning. It’s not fair to anyone to have their life chosen from them - Fox is a good reminder that we don’t know the whole story and shouldn’t assume based on other’s opinions.

This book reminded me that you can be someone who enjoys romance and having fun while being focused on your career. Hannah is who I want to be in life, and I’m glad this book reminded me of it.

This was the second Tessa Bailey book I’ve read and I enjoyed it much better than It Happened One Summer. I liked how this book took off from a friendship and wasn’t sex heavy. Fox and Hannah had such great chemistry from the start and their banter made me smile from the opening texts. What made this book special was the emotional complexities of each character. Hannah needed to find connection to Westport, it’s people and her father. Fox needed to find closure from his past and how he views himself. Despite wanting to keep her at a distance, Fox did some really nice things for Hannah so he had such a nice guy personality under the insecurities. Him growing attached to her slowly and finally realizing he can’t live without her made this slow burn so much better! I really enjoyed this book!

I don’t even know the words to describe how I’m feeling after finishing this book. I loved It Happened One Summer so much and I was so grateful to be approved for an ARC of Hook, Line and Sinker. Fox and Hannah’s story is so beautiful it brought me to tears. The way she is so patient for him and the way he is so brave for her. I love them so much I could read a thousand stories about their love. The chemistry between them was so good and the slow burn between them because of Hannah was even better. Fox was down so bad for Hannah and the things he would do just to see her smile!!! I wanted to wrap him up and protect him at all cost. I’m so happy I picked up It Happened One Summer two weeks ago and I have a never ending love for Tessa Bailey now. I can not recommend her stories enough and I hope we get even more stories set in Westport.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Hook, Line, and Sinker follows music-lover, Hannah Bellinger and playboy fisherman, Fox Thornton trying to navigate their newfound friendship despite the feelings and temptations they may have.

This was such an enjoyable read filled with delightful characters, dialogue, and romance. There were also some amazing tropes used including: friends to lovers, close proximity, and opposite attracts. While, the overall story and plot were well written it was a bit slow paced unfortunately.

The main characters, Hannah and Fox were absolutely brilliant. They each had their own personal struggles and insecurities to overcome, which was all well developed. The romance between them was definitely a slow burn. But how their relationship progressed from friends to lovers was amazing.

I do have to say that the one aspect that felt a bit forced was Hannah’s bond with her father. Personally, their connection through the sea shanties he had written felt a bit weak. Additionally, the ending did wrap up pretty quickly and felt somewhat rushed however, the epilogue made it all worth it as it was one of the most cutest and heartwarming endings I’ve read.

Overall, this was just a sweet and entertaining read with a heartwarming romance.

A steamy romance about two sisters and two best friends. Great story line of finding yourself and your inner voice. Good light reading. Well paced and written.
