I really liked this book, it wasn't one of my favorites from the author but it still managed to warm my heart. I absolutely adore Alexandria's writing and all the love and care each one of her books have. I already loved Margot because of the previous books but learning more about her in this one was amazing. Olivia was the perfect addition to the group and I fell in love with her instantly, her chemistry with Margot was off the charts and the steamy scenes were amazing. I think the reason I did not like this one as much as the other two was because they instantly connected, I know they weren't strangers and all but I was waiting for a slow burn book and this was not it.

It's a well-known rule of thumb that romance is far from my favorite genre. However, Bellefleur's books are an exception to the rule. While I didn't read the book focusing on Brandon, I have read Written in the Stars and found it fun and lovable. Count Your Lucky stars fits that style well and remained light-hearted in the right spots, and heavy where it fits best. Bellefleur does this in a way that feels seamless.

Overall, this book was just as fun and entertaining as her other stories. Although some of the characters can be a little petty and flat, it still leads to an interesting story. The pacing is incredibly well done, and the more steamy scenes are well written and placed in such a way that you can skip them if you wanted to. This really appeals to me as a reader, and makes me want to read more from this author!

This book, like the others in this series, is absolute perfection.

Margot has long been one of my favorite characters in this series and I was so happy to see her story play out. In Bellefleur's signature style, this book is witty, and passionate and so beautifully written. The characters envelope you like a warm hug and you just never want to leave this world that has been created. Each story is wonderful and charming in its own right. I loved getting to see the softer side of Margot who is always the strong one for everyone else. You get to see how she is trying so hard to hold it together on the outside while crumbling in the inside and how trying to stay strong is harming her. And then there is Olivia who is such a wonderful addition to this cast of characters. She is the perfect partner for Margot. She is caring and loving and breaks through those barriers that Margot has worked so hard to build. This book is steamy such a wonderful love story. And can we talk about Cat?! I mean I am still laughing about that vibrator.

All the stars for this wonderful third book. For fans of this series we got just enough of a peek into our favorite characters from the other books to make us feel all warm and fuzzy without taking away from the fact that this was Margot's story. This was expertly done and I never want to leave this world that Bellefleur has created. I thank my lucky stars that we got to be a part of it.

Thanks NetGalley for the arc! I requested it because I loved Written in the Stars. Super excited that I actually got approved! So I hustled and bumped Hang the Moon up my TBR because I have to read in order even though they really can be read stand alone.
Y’all this book has all the things. SAPPHIC ROMANCE. SECOND CHANCE LOVERS. ESTRANGED CHILDHOOD FRIENDS TO LOVERS. ROOMMATES! A CAT NAMED CAT.
This is a great ending to the Written in the Stars series. I loved the first two books and this one holds up for sure. The spice was also excellent in this one. The plot is surrounding planning a wedding. Margot’s friends (Brendon and Annie from Hang the Moon) are getting married and Olivia is their wedding planner. When they all show up for the first meeting it’s the first time they’ve seen each other in 11 years!
The release date is 2/1/22. Definitely check out the series if you haven’t yet!

I really thought this was going to be a 5 star read for me for nearly 80% of the book. The PINING was just perfection and I loved Margot and Olivia's backstory. There was also the ultra-specific trope of "no one can touch her, she's mine - even though she's not technically or officially mine" which was just so fun to read. Including the characters from the previous books made this feel so cohesive, like we just picked up where we left off. The emotional depth portrayed and experienced by Olivia and Margot in the first two acts made my heart ache for them.

However, the third act conflict and resolution unfortunately fell so short for me. From one page to the next, they were confessing feelings to each other, only to then get in a fight over fundamental issues they personally needed to work through, to leaving each other. Olivia's phone and car breaking ahead of the rehearsal dinner served as the big tension, and it just felt a bit too predictable and lacked the emotional depth we saw for the other portion of the book. I think I was missing more focus on Olivia's career and promotion beyond just a mention in the epilogue, since that was a huge reason why this wedding was so important to her.

Overall, I loved the characters, but ultimately this didn't end up working out for me.

Of the three books in this series, I enjoyed this one the most, although I was a little disappointed Margot had to give up on her polyamorous, somewhat hedonistic lifestyle and instead find true love.

Another wonderful story by Alexandria Bellefleur!
This was especially fun because it had a unique order of events for a romance novel. Since the two main characters have a history together, they deal with lots of old and new emotions so it’s a lot of fun to navigate through the twists and turns.
There is great LGBT representation, and I related to Margot lots which helped with feeling empathetic towards her as a character. I will say that I’d love to read a book by Bellefleur with just one perspective, as the two perspectives in a romance novel isn’t my favorite format. Still, the author writes a fun and captivating story.
Um, also this book is SPICY so definitely know that before reading!

Thanks to NetGalley for letting me review this early copy.

This was actually the first in this series I've read, and I plan to read the others after having enjoyed the friendships, romance, and setting in this book (Seattle). This was also my first female/female romance, and I loved Margot and Olivia and their second chance at a relationship, and that they were best friends and knew each other well back in high school.

Both women are bi, if that is something you are looking for.

I became a fan of Alexandria Bellefleur earlier this year when I finally got my hands on "Written in the Stars", an inclination that was further proved when I read "Hang the Moon" in August. Therefore, I was really looking forward to her next release -- another f/f romance, to boot!

Sadly, this one fell a little flat for me.

Olivia was a wonderful new addition to the group and Margot was hilarious as always, and I like the reunited-friends component, but for all that history I feel like they lacked chemistry. And maybe that's just because they got together so early in the book; from all my years reading fanfiction, I know I like the sweet agony of slow burn.

Then, because Olivia and Margot got together so early there was barely any conflict except for the third act fight and even then it felt too late. In "Hang the Moon" we know through the entire book that she's hesitant to start anything with Brendon because she's been unceremoniously dropped for someone else and she's scared that will happen again. There's nothing like that here.

Plus, the friend group -- so vital and prominent in the other two books -- is barely mentioned. You'd think a book with Brendon and Annie's wedding as a subplot would include them more.

I'll still read Miss Bellefleur's next book. I love her writing story and she writes such real and sweet characters that she's a romance author I will always read. I did have some fun here trying to figure out who the subject of the next book is, if she continues with the companion books in this Seattle universe. My money's on Luke, but one about Olivia's dad could be really fun. As long as it's not Brad.

A charming, easy read.

Count Your Lucky Stars is a charming second chance romance. If you want something comforting, a bit steamy and just a big ball of fluffy— this is exactly for you.

Personally, this was kind of a miss for me. I didn’t think the plot was strong enough to stand on its own, and the characters weren’t interesting enough to stand in their own, so it might for a lackluster read. It took a long time to get into. I wasn’t remotely invested until the midway point, but even then I wasn’t in love with anyone or the writing.

The tension saves the story, however. Where I didn’t find in depth, it made up for in spice.

Like I said, this leans more fluff heavy than my taste, but it’s cute. It was just too light for me. I love a good romance, but I want heart in it. I can’t root for two people when I don’t root for them individually.

But this is no means a bad book. Just not for me.

Absolutely fan-fucking-tastic! This has been one of my most anticipated reads since Alexandria Bellefleur made the announcement a few months ago. I loved Written in the Stars and Hang the Moon, and was honestly hesitant about Margot's book living up to the hype but it delivered tenfold. I love this book, I love this series, and I can't wait until the rest of the world gets to read it.

Count Your Lucky stars is not a genre I’ve read very much of, and yet I still enjoyed it a lot. I haven’t read the two companion novels to it either, and even still these characters were awesome and I loved them all no matter how much or how little we saw of them and I really want to read the first two and learn more about Elle and Darcy, and Brendon and Annie and how their stories came to be. The tension, the dialogue, the friendships, everything had me pulled in immediately. I see now why these books are so hyped and talked about.

So Margot, she was my favorite. She’s stubborn, Sarcastic, honest and incredibly independent. But she’s also caring, and funny as hell. She’s learned to live her life for herself and do what makes her happy. Sure she’s got some issues she’s working through, but she’s a work in progress. I loved how she cared about Olivia and always tried to do the best She could.

Olivia is sweet, and kind, and cares a lot. She’s got a huge heart, and she’s still figuring out how to put it back together. She’s newly divorced, out of a marriage that was never in her favor and I felt incredibly bad for her. I’m happy that Margo made sure that she knew how much more she deserved, that she was worth more than she gave herself credit for.

Overall, this was steamy, heartfelt, and tender in all the right places. Light when it needed to be, and heavy when it was necessary. I sat and read the second half in one sitting because I literally could not stop reading, I needed to know what happened.

I look forward to reading more of Alexandria Bellefleur's writing and seeing what she writes in the future.

This book was very sweet and I enjoyed it a lot! I was excited to read since I was a big fan of Written in the Stars. I think the first is still the strongest in the series, but this was still an enjoyable and fun read.

Margot & Olivia stumble upon each other in one of those 'everyone has found the love of their life' and I haven't kind of moments. Many post-collegiate, 20 and 30 somethings can relate. This time the trope is 'old friends/lovers' with a heartbreak back story that no one wants to admit to. I'd say there is also a bit of grump/sunshine trope thrown in, too.
I've read Bellefleur's two previous books in this series and I enjoyed Margot's story as well. I actually liked her more as a side character than I did at the beginning of this book, but the author won me over (of course), and I wa happy to root for the two of them to reunite in an emotional way (not just steamy way). It's good to find characters who can accept that their childhood friend has grown as a person.
Funny, caring, and easy to read.
Thanks for the ARC!

This fun friends to lovers, second chance romance is the third book in the series that kicked off with Written in the Stars.

SUMMARY: Margot’s friends are pairing off, and she’s worried she’ll be the last girl standing. But when her former best friend and high school hookup ends up back in her life--and in her apartment--old feelings resurface for both of them!

The love story between Margot and Olivia was steamy and charming. I loved Margot as a character--she’s sassy and sarcastic but also a great friend--and felt that the chemistry between her and Olivia really worked. I also loved that despite the hang-ups each woman possessed, they both wanted to help the other grow.

This is one book where the characters’ lack of communication did not get on my nerves. It made sense that they’d hide their feelings behind a veil of friendship for so long, and I loved how jealous Margot got, even though Olivia’s personality was consistently that of a people-pleaser. Everything about their dynamic felt real to me.

I love this series and hope the author comes up with a solid reason to revisit it for another book. Will Dr. Luke be redeemed in a future installment? Only time will tell!

I think this was maybe the best one out of the series! Bellefleur still has a pacing problem, but it was cute and steamy and nice to see everyone together for a happy ending.

Than you to Netgalley and the publishing house for a chance to read an ARC of this book! I have been dying to read this book ever since I devoured Written in the Stars! The Angst! The romance! The setting! This was one of my most anticipated reads of 2022, and it does not disappoint! Bellefleur’s humorous and addictive prose make the plot fast and crisp, the characters and the relationship between Margot and Olivia is extremely well-developed full of chemistry. I can’t wait to see what book Bellefleur has next up her sleeve!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Count Your Lucky Stars was such a heartfelt sapphic romance read filled with delightful characters, dialogue, and storyline. This book is a standalone however, it is part of an interconnected series, Written in the Stars so I would recommend reading the prior books in the series for more context and backstory.

The writing and overall story development in this book was well written and executed. The storyline was just so refreshing and enjoyable. There were some amazing tropes used in this book as well, including: former best friends to lovers, close proximity, and a second chance romance. It is also dual POVs of the main characters, which was just amazing.

The main characters, Margot Cooper and Olivia Grant were absolutely brilliant. Their development and growth throughout the book was so well written and heartfelt. The romance between them was filled with lots of chemistry, tension, and angst. Their past history and all the miscommunication between them was heartbreaking but their reconciliation was absolutely worth it. There were also some spicy/smutty scenes in this book, which I was not expecting but absolutely loved.

The ending was a bit rushed but nonetheless enjoyable. Additionally, the epilogue in this book was just the perfect conclusion for all the characters in the series. Overall, this book was just a beautifully written story with an amazing second chance romance between former best friends.
