I love Alexandria Bellefleur’s writing! Her romances are a perfect mix of emotional and heartwarming and sweet and sexy, and Count Your Lucky Stars is no exception! This book is so steamy! It’s a second chance, estranged friends to lover with some forced proximity thrown into the mix, and I am here for it. First, I love seeing the characters fro the previous books in this series grow and see their romances getting better and better, and I loved Margot and Olivia! Olivia is ambitious, and her heart is just so big, and Margot is just this dirty-talking alpha who is so absolutely genuine. I feel like it can be frustrating in romances for the conflict to be that the main character is an extra wheel, but I think this was just handled so well—the friendships I’ve come to know and love from Written in the Stars just sparkle here. Elle and Margot’s friendship is so sweet, and I loved the support Margot gets from everyone, and I love how welcomed Olivia is to this group of characters. Olivia and Margot’s chemistry sizzles, and I just love a second chance romance, but this felt like so much more too—it was also their friendship that stood out. These two really understand each other, and I love how this story comes together. I do wish they had just communicated throughout this book better because that constantly seemed an issue, but at the same time, I loved that that lack of communication was something the characters were aware of. Alexandria Bellefleur has created characters that are absolutely flawed and in that have created an authentic and heartwarming story that has me smiling so big. Also, I so wish Elle and Margot’s company Oh My Stars was real, I love how this dove into astrology more and Margot’s passion for it really came through. Plus, Olivia’s cat Cat is just a star. Honestly, this is such a perfect conclusion to this series.

CW: abandonment issues, cheating (past relationship not MCs), sick parent

I would recommend if you're looking for (SPOILERS)

-f/f former childhood friends to lovers
-close-proximity
-second chance romance
-so much mutual pining
-an adorable cat named cat
-our favorite characters from the past two books
-so much sexual tension

Ooomf this book. So excited for it and now so upset that this series is over. I've been excited to read Margot's story who's been a feature of the series since book 1. Not exactly a grump, more of a curmudgeon who isn't afraid to tell people like it is, and likes what she likes. She struggles to speak about her feelings with everyone and is just not an emotional person. While watching those nearest and dearest to her fall in love around her. I adored her and definitely related to her fears as a fifth wheel and your relationships with your friends changing.

Olivia may have been quieter but her story was just as meaningful. Making the best out of life that didn't give her what she wanted. Trying to take care of everyone else around her. Sometimes it feels selfish to do what you want when it's exactly what you need to do. I feel like so many people can relate to Olivia especially during the pandemic and I hope we all get our HEA and find our Margot.

These two, gosh the sexual tension, the steamy talking. This was the steamiest of the three books and I just enjoyed their back and forth so much. Normally I'm not a fan of communication issues but it was perfectly done here. The stakes so clear, the fear of ruining the friendship, the fear, the past issues that separated them. Honestly, this may have been the best book I've seen that the communication issues were so realistic.

I won't be able to stop gushing, this book was amazing. I just wish we got more time with these characters.

I keep picking up Alexandria Bellefleur's books because I'm starved to queer (specifically sapphic) romcoms, and I keep being disappointed. I just think she's not for me.

This was my most anticipated of the trilogy, and also the most disappointing. I think it lacked the emotional depth that I was searching for, that I'm always searching for in my romance. For a second chance, forced proximity (roommates), childhood best friends romance, there wasn't a lot of angst or emotional drive or even swoon between the two heroines. I also didn't find it particularly funny. It felt as though Bellefleur was stretched while having to juggle the cameos and continued HEAs of the 2 previous books and that took away from the romance in this one.

Also, these books are chock full of cis white people, which feels really unrealistic to me. I've never met a queer friend group with only cis white people in it, and I think it's really damaging representation.

I do find Bellefleur's writing style to be really compelling in the prose, and she writes such lively and dynamic characters and friendships. The romance here just didn't hit the spot for me.

Thanks to NetGalley and Avon for the ARC.

I loved Written in the Stars, and this book was equally as cute!!! Margot was one of my favorites in the previous books, and I loved finally getting the chance to read about her story. Her relationship with Olivia was SO cute, and I really loved the pan rep in this story, plus the storyline of coming to terms with queerness later in life. This is a really sweet comfort book for anyone looking for a light and joyful read!

A sweet second-chance romance featuring an event planner and an astrologer. Margot and Olivia were best friends in high school--and briefly more--but haven't seen each other in years. Suddenly, they're stuck together, as Olivia plans an important wedding for Margot's friends. And when Olivia's apartment floods, they're temporarily roommates, too. Plus a demanding cat. There might still be an attraction between the two women, but if they're going to have a chance of a future, they need to figure out what went wrong in the past first.

It was nice to revisit the charming and eccentric characters from Bellefleur's two previous books, now happily paired off. I definitely related to Margot's feelings as the lone single person, where the couples don't really know what to do with you. There were hilarious moments here, as well as heartfelt ones, and a deeply satisfying conclusion.

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC to review. All opinions are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for a copy of this eARC in exchange for a review!

Oh My Gosh! This book was so good and sweet and steamy.
This is the first book I've read from this author, but after reading Count Your Lucky Stars, it's clear I need to go back and read the other two books in this series.

I love when two characters are totally into each other and have this lingering history in a romance. We totally get that here with Margot and Olivia. When we meet them at the beginning of this book, they've bumped into each other after being estranged for 11 years. Of course, this leads to an awkward tension that they have to reckon with when Olivia suddenly becomes Margot's roommate.

The sexual chemistry between Margot and Olivia is off the charts. The bisexual and pansexual representation was also great to see.

Miscommunications arise for Margot and Olivia when they don't discuss what they need to to be able to move forward together, but I loved how Margot's friends and Olivia's dad helped them through their communication issues.

Overall I loved how sweet and funny and swoony this book was. Just beautifully done!

This was an absolutely beautiful end to Alexandria Bellefleur's trilogy and she has made a lifetime reader out of me. I've anxiously awaited each book since reading Written in the Stars and they have all exceeded by expectations--but this one especially so.

Margot is the third person is this series to get her HEA. She is Elle's business brother and Brendon's best friend, but as the other characters find love, she is left feeling like a fifth wheel. Following Hang the Moon, Brendon and Annie are getting married. Margot is Brendon's Best Woman and the wedding has to have a spontaneous change in planners after an issue with the original venue. In walks Olivia, the girl that got away. She is recently divorced, looking for her big break in the event planning business, and also still carries a bittersweet torch for Margot. They do not have plans to reconnect but fate has other ideas. Olivia's apartment floods and she needs a place to stay and Margot, conveniently, is between roommates.

This book can best be described as lots mutual pining with a lot of sexual tension. Like a lot, lol. This has some of my favorite tropes: forced proximity, friends-to-lovers-to-strangers-to-friends-to-lovers, and a second-chance relationship. Like her other books, Alexandria Bellefleur takes these fun tropes and turns them on their head. I'm convinced at this point that she's unable to write a bad book. I was in a terrible book slump and decided to go ahead and read this and it was a great decision. It was *so much fun.* I love Margot and Liv so much. I loved getting to see the happiness of Elle/Darcy and Brendon/Annie. It was steamyyyyy. And I laughed out loud on more than one occasion (the hallway exchange, amirite?)

This was *mwuah* chef's kiss perfection. I think it's my favorite of the trilogy. I can't wait for this to be published so that I can read them all again back-to-back and experience all of it like one giant book. Another A++++ for Alexandria Bellefleur. I can't wait to see what she writes next.

Thanks to Netgalley for an eARC, this is my honest review for Count Your Lucky Stars.

Let me just start off by saying I was SOOOO excited to get approved to read this book early. I have been a huge fan of Alexandria Bellefleur since Written in the Stars began. The way she writes her characters and love stories just grabs a hold of you and puts you in the book. It is so easy to make a connection to the characters and feel what they feel while reading. Another reason I love this series is because you see real life problems that couples need to work through.. This feel good romantic comedy with LGBTQ+ protagonists is heartwarming. 100% recommend reading this book and buying it for your libraries.

After meeting Margot in Written in the Stars and seeing her again in Hang the Moon, it’s finally time for her story!

Just as Margot is starting to feel like she’s becoming the fifth wheel in her friend group, her childhood best friend, Olivia, makes a reappearance. Not only is Olivia planning her friends’ wedding, but she also needs a place to stay while her apartment is repaired. Margot decides to put the past behind her and offers to let Olivia stay in her spare room. As roommates, Margot and Olivia begin to repair their friendship while learning about themselves and each other along the way.

Second chance romance. Best friends to lovers. Steam. LGBT+ representation. This book has it all!

Yes I have over 30 books from NetGalley that publish before this one, but because it is one of my most anticipated books of 2022 I couldn’t help starting Count Your Lucky Stars within a few days of being approved and I was not disappointed. This book picks up a short while after the epilogue of Hang the Moon and returns to the wonderful Written in the stars world that Alexandria has created. I highly highly highly recommend reading the other two books in this series before reading this book as the main couples from the first two books are featured frequently, though it probably can be read on its own.

This book focuses on Margot (the former roommate and business partner of Elle (book 1)), and Olivia (the wedding planner for Brendan and Annie (book 2)) who happen to have been best friends in high school but haven’t really spoken since they spent a week in bed together prior to attending separate colleges a decade ago. This is a wonderful second chance romance as the pair struggle with trust issues stemming from their history as well as their continued attraction and forced proximity as new roommates. Where the book doesn’t come out for six more months I don’t want to spoil too much, so I think I’ll leave the overview at that.

As with the other two books in the series, this one strikes a wonderful balance of humor, romance, and tension. I absolutely adored catching up with the main couples from the previous. I loved all the small humorous moments like Margot’s family group chat and Margot’s healthy fear of Olivia’s cat, named Cat. This book had a bit more heat compared to the first two books in the series and I have no complaints about that. The longing between the Olivia and Margot was real and wonderful. I can se myself rereading this book.

I can’t wait to see what Alexandria Bellefleur writes next! Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books for the ARC.

I stopped everything I was doing when I saw I was sent this book! I loved #WrittenInTheStars and #HangTheMoon and this book was just as good! In fact, it may be my favorite, especially because I got to spend time with some of my favorite characters. It’s so satisfying to see Brandon and Annie and Elle and Darcy so happy but this time around it’s Margot’s turn for love.
.
Margot doesn’t love being the fifth wheel but she isn’t dating anyone. She’s happily helping plan Brandon and Annie’s wedding when she comes face to face with her childhood best friend, the love of her life, and the girl she hasn’t spoken to in over ten years.
.
Olivia is shocked to see Margot and newly divorced from her high school boyfriend, she wonders if she she is the one who got away.
.
A second chance at love, with the signature wit and humor that Bellefleur is known for I loved this one. She has created a world with these characters that I am invested in and want to keep revisiting.
.
Thank you #Avon and #NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

The perfect ending to the Written in the Star series! I am honestly heartbroken to say goodbye to these characters. Margot won my heart back in WINS so I really enjoyed getting to know her more. Second chance romance stories are always my favorite and this one was so steamy!

Count Your Lucky Stars concludes Alexandria Bellefleur’s, Written in the Stars trilogy. This sweet second chance romance between Margot and Olivia is fabulously written. This entertaining story revolves around Olivia planning the wedding of Annie and Brendon, from Hang the Moon. Margot is Brendon’s best woman and is suddenly reunited with Olivia, her first love. I loved the chemistry between Margot and Olivia. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher Avon for providing me with an ARC, which in no way influenced my opinion. This review reflects my honest thoughts and opinions.

What a great, great queer romance that's BFF to enemies to lovers, a pairing I haven't read from before. I love Margot and Olivia's strong juxtaposition, how they're so different in terms of personality but are able to make it work for their relationship in the long run. If you've enjoyed Bellefleur's other work, you'll feel at home with this new one. Thank you for the e-arc.

i am so soft, this book was so soft, this entire series was so soft. i sound like a broken record by now, but alexandria’s writing is so magical and beautiful, i will keep reading every single book she writes. no questions asked, just give it to me and i’ll love it.

this book is finally margot’s love story, and olivia is a new character that completely stole my heart. she completes the group perfectly, her personality was adorable and i ended up loving her as much as i loved the rest of the characters as if i had known her since written in the stars. olivia and margot have history together, they used to be best friends (and some more) until their paths got separated. i love second chance romances, and this one wasn’t only a second chance at love, but at friendship too. i loved it so much. they were really good together and aside from the romantic chemistry they shared, their friendship was truly fulfilling as well.

the kind of bond between olivia and margot always feels the one that deserves a happy ending the most to me, and this book was truly a serve in that aspect. another thing i loved was that i feel like i got to know margot entirely thanks to this book. i loved her in the previous books and getting her as the main character of the story was the best. also, this book was very very steamy, as the previous two books in the series. i love how well alexandria mixes cute, romantic moments with highly steamy scenes. both of my favorite worlds in one book is always a win for me.

i love this trilogy so much, everyone knows it, and i don’t think i’ll stop repeating it in the foreseeable future. this book comes out february 1st next year and i will repost my review close to that date, but this series is going to be a permanent fixture in my recommendation posts, favorites lists and book stacks.

if you haven’t started already, written in the stars is the beginning of the series with elle and darcy’s love story, hang the moon is about brendon and annie, and again, count your lucky stars comes out february 1st, 2022.

thank you so much to the publisher for my early review copy.

Count Your Lucky Stars is the third book of the Written in the Stars trilogy, although it can be read as a standalone. It follows Margot as she prepares for her friend’s wedding, and Olivia, the girl from the past who is also the wedding planner.
-
I really enjoyed this book! It was fun and cute and Alexandria Bellefleur has an amazing writing style. I absolutely loved the “second chance romance” aspect and the fact that they started as roommates. The other characters from the previous books were incorporated well, and this was just great.
-
All that said, I did have a couple issues. The fact that neither girl ever talked to each other before entering a physical relationship left a bad taste in my mouth, although that might just be me. It was harder to root for them also when it seemed that one person held more power and say in the relationship as well.
-
Overall, this was a cute queer romance that I do recommend, although Written in the Stars is still my favorite from this trilogy.
-
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

I love the way Bellefleur writes. Romantic comedy as a genre has definitely gained something with the addition of the lovely author. Count your lucky Stars was a wonderful addition to this world that Bellefleur has created - I read the entire thing in one sitting (like I read her other two novels) and I can’t wait to order some of these for the store, nor can I wait to have a copy on my own bookshelf.

*Thank you to NetGalley for sending me an eARC of this book. All thought and opinions are my own*

I was so excited to read this book, ever since I heard that it was going to be a trilogy, and it DID NOT disappoint. All three books are cute and steamy romcoms following a continuous cast, and this was a great conclusion. Wlw romance with bi and pan MCs *swoons*

I am not particularly into astrology, but I have enjoyed every bit of this series, and this book is no exception. First off, the queer rep in the whole trilogy is wonderful, especially the m-spec representation (normalization of a bi/pan character in both a wlm relationship and a wlw relationship) which is hard to find.

While I'm not normally a fan of the classic 'miscommunication' trope, I think Bellefleur does an awesome job of addressing how fears and insecurities can lead to those kind of problems, and they are all resolved really well.

My favorite part of this book is definitely the characters. They are all dynamic, realistic, and also very unique, especially for a romcom. I will be reading any book this author comes out with. This is a win for me!

I am absolutely convinced that Alexandria Bellefleur just cannot write a bad book. I loved the first two books in this series and could not wait for the ARC to become available!

Margot is Elle's best friend who we met in "Written in the Stars". All of her best friends are now in committed relationships, and Margot finds herself as the "Best Woman" in Brandon's wedding. Unbeknownst to her, the wedding planner is her high school best friend, Olivia, whom she had a weeklong "fling" during spring break, only for Olivia to get back together with her high school boyfriend when he returned from vacation. After Olivia's apartment suddenly floods, Margot ends up offering her spare bedroom to her. They pretty quickly act on the tension in the air, but defining the relationship brings up the disappointments and miscommunications of the past.

Alexandria Bellefleur's characters always feel super relatable to me, and I had the same experience with Olivia and Margot in this book. They felt very real - the awkwardness of friends trying to reconnect plus the obvious tension was done so well. The "former best friends to lovers" trope is one of my new favorites! The book genuinely made me laugh out loud and I couldn't put it down. I will miss the world of Elle, Darcy, and everyone else but this feels like a great bookend to this series.
