I am a Housewives and overall Bravo superfan, so generally I love any insight or background into the show and cast members. I really love Dorinda, she's one of the best RHONY cast members and I did want to know more about her life prior to the show, so I listened to this audiobook. With all that said, I think this was a big missed opportunity. Make It Nice should have been a visual, lifestyle, how -to book sharing Dorinda's expertise as an incredible hostess and her signature chic style. More like Reese Witherspoon's Whiskey in a Teacup, this should have been a visual feast with recipes, place setting strategies, go-to looks for certain occasions, etc.
Now I don't know what is included in the book, I'm sure there are a few pictures, but I think this should have been totally done in a different way. She didn't reveal much- so its not too juicy- and it moves rather slow. Still a Dorinda fan but wouldn't necessarily recommend this book.
Her reading was also very slow and felt labored.

I really enjoyed Dorinda's book, looking into her own past, rather than a tell-all about the Housewives. While many would expect her to write about everything that has happened on set, I was actually more interested in how she got to where she is. That's what I enjoyed about this book. I really liked hearing about her time overseas, her upbringing, and some of the things she struggled with as an adult. There's plenty of time for a tell-all, but a mini memoir was perfect for Dorinda, one of my favorite Housewives.
