Unfortunately, I was unable to download the PDF for this book in a way that would work so that I could read it and write a complete review. Once it is available I will go back in and edit this review.

Overall, I thought this was a great premise for a children's book. It helps children identify different cultures, phrases, and assists with inclusivity; understanding that the world is full of different kinds of people. The only issue I have is maybe understanding what child's audience this is specifically geared towards. It may be difficult for younger kids to even identify what the sayings mean, and for older kids, they simply may not be as interested in learning about this topic versus seeing a book on a shelf with a gaggle of pigs or a little superhero.

Love this! A must for every word nerd 5 to 105! This is a wonderfully light and fun exploration of idioms and proverbs across dozens of global languages. For as big as the world is, it's amazing how much we all come back to the same basic ideas.

The illustrations are bright, amusing, and lively and short notes about the provenance or historical/linguistic context of various phrases gives this valuable extra depth.

This would be a wonderful addition to elementary and middle school classroom and school libraries.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!
